SOLE
The Bid For CoH 12
Introductions
Greetings, and welcome to this brief guide to SOLE – the bid for the twelfth Cup Of Harmony. If you are reading this, you are either seriously interested in our bid, or are just feinting interest. Whatever your motive, we hope you enjoy your journey through the corridors of SOLE, and would ask you kindly not to steal anything (i.e. towels from the bathroom). Please note that SOLE is still under construction, so if you come across a gap, just step over it.
Format
Where better to start the tour than at the very heart of the bid – the format. Depending on the number of teams that accept their invitations, the format will be as follows:
12 teams
Four groups of three, each team plays the others twice, top two in each group progress to quarterfinals.
14 teams
Two groups of seven, each team plays the others once, top two in each group progress to semifinals.
16 teams
Four groups of four, each team plays the others once, top two in each progress to quarterfinals.
We won’t invite more than sixteen teams, so that wraps up the format.
Scorinator
The most crucial part of the bid, the Scorinator can make or break a country’s chances of hosting a tournament. For that reason, we have decided to play it safe, and would use the much tried and much tested Leagion for this tournament. Reliable, user-friendly and very efficient, it’s the safest bet for anyone undecided on whom to back.
RP Bonus
Poor little RP Bonus, so misunderstood. Oh well, life goes on! For this tournament, RP bonus will take a back seat, just to see what happens if there’s no incentive to RP. That way, it will be a good gauge for future World Cups. If you’d like to see this experiment in fruition, you know which bid to vote for, don’t you?
Stadia
Should SOLE win hosting rights, the matches will be played in South Osettia and Liverpool England. The LE stadiums will be up soon, but for now, here’s where those SO games will take place:
The Ts’khinvali Stadium, Capacity: 84,547 (http://www.hannover-luftbilder.de/bilder/Stadien/Weserstadion-klein-18a_98.jpg)
The Dinamo Ring, Capacity: 79,291 (http://www.culturabrasil.pro.br/maracana.jpg)
The Ashtarak Track, Capacity: 63,193 (http://galeb.etf.bg.ac.yu/~mirad/Stadioni/luzhniki.jpg)
The Gori Circle, Capacity: 62,482 (http://www.fussballtempel.net/afc/IRN/Azadi.jpg)
Reasons To Back This Bid
And so, to recap, here’s a list of all the reasons to back this bid:
1) We’re using the safest Scorinator in town.
2) No RP Bonus! Surely you want to see that.
3) So LE is still in the World Cup, who cares? It just opens up a spot for a more needy team.
4) Legalese and Fmjphoenix are better teams, you say? Au contraire, ma cherie, the average rank of SOLE is just two behind the average rank of Leg/Fmj according to the new rankings (40.5, as opposed to 38.5)
5) Let’s face it: you can’t make the word SOLE out of the initials of Legalese and Fmjphoenix, can you
