The launch of the first two Lesui class patrol ships today marked the end of the initial building phase of the Labule and the end of the ATDA as an independent organization. In a public address from Yazu Labulal Kasna, the first and only Labule shipbuilding facility built thus far, Alphin Petrovich Kolani praised the ATDA and the Labule for their efforts to protect the nation, and announced that ATDA operations would be seperated into divisions and transferred to Labule and Nahbule control. Further Labule expansion would be minimal, he said, until money could be saved for new development projects. The largest such project currently in-planning is a full-service starbase, but the $500 trillion price tag is expected to be beyond the nation's financial capability for at least a half-century. The Labule currently operates 151 ships (26 of which are actual combat vessels) and 6 space stations.

The Lesui class patrol ship is designed to be an all-around warship, specialized for independent operation and defense. Equipped with a full array of powerful weapons, the Lesui class is a very solid attempt to incorporate all the best design elements the Labule has at its disposal into a single vessel. The result is a quick, relatively long-range starship with strong offensive ability. The Lesui class has two significant handicaps however. Firstly, because of its powerful weapons and shields, fuel range becomes an issue during extended periods of alert. Secondly, because of its size and often operating away from other combat vessels, it is practically vulnerable when combating more than a few targets at a time.
