A Palace by The Sea [Minas Faerie]

Allanea

Above the waters of the North-Allanean sea, a single black monstrosity stood, dozens upon dozens of stories tall. On the outside, it was a veritable tower of evil – a tall, black, slick, menacing structure. At it’s top sat a ruler, and at his orders, at any moment, vast armies could issue for from Allanea. From his seat, he controlled the Minuteman ballistic missiles, hanging motionless in their silos, ready to kill millions at a moment’s notice. From the top of the tower, he observed his nation’s air armada’s patrol the shoreline. One word of his – and they would turn to neighboring Goobergunchia or Edolia, quenching hope and life. To the east stood Port-Allanea, where his people dealed, traded, created, pouring trillions into each other’s coffers. He created that – before him, there was only desert. And the ruler knew his power, and was not pleased.

On the inside, it was altogether different. A palace of sorts, story upon story of excuisite beauty and design that would leave even an elf astonished. It was called the Tower of Liberty, Minas Faerie, and it was built like it – a gift from the grateful people of Allanea to the Founder of the Nation. And it was filled with objects of art and relics from all over the worlds. At the top stories, the ruler would hold parties. Sometimes they would last a few hours, sometimes several days on end. And excuisite drugs and wines were brought for him – hashish and chifir, extasy and peyote, alcohol and refined caffeine. And Allanea’s best women offered themselves to him, yet he refused them all.

And Minas Faerie became the symbol of Allanea’s might and power, and yet the ruler was not pleased. Even as the banner of Allanea flew on the palace of Minas Faerie, Kazansky was not pleased, for the Palace lacked it’s mistress.
