The Courtship of Lady Moreshara Anrond (open)
Lady Morehara of House Anrond ssighed as she brushed her rich, dark hair from her eyes. The time had finally come when she was to be sacrificed on the altar of foreign policy and of her father's unending rivalry with House Arjun. Morehara simply sat as her maids dressed her in her best gown. She knew elsewhere in the palace many other servants were making the final arrangement for a feast and a ball, open to noblemen from every corner of the earth. Part of her was even a little excited. More of her was simply resigned.
The president of Jangia's son, Nathaniel Burke, sighed, and strode from the plane. Yet another dreadful ball that he would need to attend. His father had some serious issues,l or so he thought. The man that managed to rule a country and be a father to his children was quite gifted, but Nathan had never really adjusted to the responsibilities that came of being a president's son instead of a tycoon's son like most of his friends were. Nathan stood back from his thoughts and smiled at the limo driver that stood forward from his car. Smoothing his tuxedo, Nathan slid into the back seat. A man that Nathan recognized as one of his father's PR men was already in the car. scarcely had Nathan sat down when the man started talking.
"The woman in question's name is Lady Morehara of House Anrond, but it would probably be best if you referred to her as "my lady" or "Lady Morehara". Be careful with this one, because your father would be pleased if things worked out well with this lady. Not like the last one. That fiasco with the tomato sauce- Simply horrible.
Well, I won't advise you on how to seem attractive to her, you have had a lot of practice already. I think that is all you need. Oh yes, be sure to eat a little of everything.
The ballroom was decorated fabulously with sparkling silver streamers and subtle lighting gently illuminating the ballroom. The refreshment table was decorated with glimmering ice sculptures of swans, knights, unicorns, and other gentle and ladylike creatures.
The room was filled with high born men and women. Most of them were thin, tall, angular blondes, typical of House Anrond. Nonetheless, all types of humans were present from the other houses. The Artophians milled about, conversing among themselves. Lady Morehara was as yet nowhere to be seen.
