FROM: New Haven Armed Forces - Military Intelligence

New Haven is interested in buying 15,000 MK.XIV personnel hardened combat uplink units per year for 20 years at a cost of 1,813,500,000 SUMUs per year (or 36,270,000,000 for the entirety of this project). We will send a Courier to the future location of Outzone City with necessary DNA and retinal scan information as soon as the transaction is completed.

Level 84 INT-SEC Tower, The Ziggurat, Zone one, Megacity One Earth

The INT-SEC second class Colonel sat in his office on the fourth tower of the Ziggurat. INT-SEC was the only ZMI department to have an entire one of the four Ziggurats external obelisk like towers devoted to it. He stared at the mail upon the thin as light holo screen wanting to display it in reality to make sure it was real to himself. His name was Timothy Carl Carpenter and he was the project lead on the design of the MK.XIV personnel hardened combat uplink units. He then slowly opened the bottom left drawer of his large black synth alloy desk and heard the swishing sound from what lay inside, messaging the rest of the design staff he carefully uncorked the bottle of brandy and sent a request to order a dozen bottles of champagne as he also booked function room down on level 20.
This was just one of the good days.

Baltic Island, the edge of the ZMI Outzone

The tree filled rugged little road was warm, almost muggy at this time of year. In the background in a field a dozen Type 10 carry alls were dropping several large cargo crates onto a line of drone ground transport units. Meanwhile Carl Stephens a ZMI INT-SEC courier leaned against the yellow bulk of the ground car he had got from the company depot beside the prefab buildings of the planning centre in the middle of the grounds that would become Outzone city. His jacket open he stood waiting for the NHSR rendezvous, a secure data sphere relay neatly standing by in the back seat of the rugged little car to upload the authentication data to the nearby crated MK.XIV’s .

A Maurader Mk.II dropship came over the tree line, decending slowly onto the open field. Out of the back came a courier in military uniform, just a Lieutenant, with a briefcase handcuffed to his arm followed by two corporals with shouldered pulse rifles as bodyguards.

"Sorry for all the extra security, we wanted to make sure this information got to you without being seen by anyone else," the lieutenant said as a corporal pulled his dogtag chain out, pulling the key off the back of his dogtag and unlocked the handcuffs. "This is all the necessary data to make sure that our officers have access to these devices."

Carl had held his cap on as the drop ships down draft had nearly separated him from it. On time he muttered, before brushing some dust that had been thrown up of his uniform and walking over to the NHS personnel emerging from the back of the dropship.

"Sorry for all the extra security, we wanted to make sure this information got to you without being seen by anyone else," Carl stared as the man in a Lieutenants uniform unlocked a brief case from his arm and went on “"This is all the necessary data to make sure that our officers have access to these devices." Carl replied by handing the NHSR officer a dispensation flimsy that would hand the equipment officially over to the NHSR and said as if from a script “ZMI is always glad to be of assistance to her best customers” he then pointed at the now fully loaded flat bed drone hover trucks. “they will follow this down normal roads in their topographic data base. Once you unload them they will return to the depot” as he said this he handed the NHSR lieutenant a single pen sized tracker beacon and taking the brief case from the mans grasp he walked back to his car to encode the units.

20 meters from this 3 Dark Battle Angels sat and watched, there passive sensors at maximum, there bodies invisible to the Type 10 pilots, Carl or the NHSR personnel. As Carl finished encoding the MK.XIV’s and began to drive back to the ZMI facility they simply faded into the background.

The Lieutenant got back into the Marauder and ordered the pilot to follow the main road below to the military base near the southern coast. As they exited Outzone City's general area, a column of Socialist Union Hover Tanks (SUHt-01s) glided out of the forests and took up positions along the automated trucks to protect them (just in case). They glided along until they reached the military base, where forklift trucks and personnel carried the crates into hangars and the trucks sent back to their depot.
