OOC: This is for the Eart Rome rp.
Remises stared from the window, his vast palace in Alexandria overlooked the great lighthouse and his navy further a sea. War was brewing over the known world, the rise of a new Empire was occurring, the old world giving way to the new. Egypt had long since seen its glory. The days of Ashurbanipal's campaign in Assyria had long since past. The mighty golden armies long disbanded and withered in the sands of time, but perhaps those days were not truly lost. The armies of Persia now gone and replaced with weak city states. Alexanders Empire now crushed under his own hand, and Carthage being attacked from all sides would give ample opportunity to expand.
Rich vast lands lay to the West, while open fertile ground lay in the North. Parthia was a concern but not a great one. The glory of Babylon had long since past, the last might of the Persian kings has become lost to them while the glory of Egypt began to rise once more.
The Grand Library held thousands of ancient texts, works of Socrates and letters from Alexander. Historical accounts of great battles in the North, and maps of the Barbarian lands. The temple of Serapis shadowed even his own palace, situated on a vast hill. Defended more than the morning and evening star it showed the change in Egypts culture. Moving away from the great Pyramids of Khufu and the wars of old, to literature and history. Egypt was now the guardians of the old world, keepers of Historical accounts to be passed on through the generations.
Dawning his golden robes Remises moved through the dimly lit passageways, the walls decorated with hieroglyphs of old detailed the history of his ancestors. Flowing into the grandeur of the Ancient Kingdom Remises was hardly aware of the approaching footsteps, turning in a daze his advisor Khu crept slowly behind him. “Great Pharaoh, I did not mean to disturb.” Bowing low Khu begged for forgiveness.
“Rise Khu, what do you bring me?” Remises motioned towards the papyrus scroll in his hand.
“It is the orders for the army Great Pharaoh, they are ready to be mustered…..”
