International Communist See established

Ariddia
20-01-2005, 15:30
In an act by the People’s Prime Parliament in Rêvane, Ariddia, named ‘Act Recognising the Sovereignty of the District of Teshven’ a new nation of a very peculiar kind was born today within Ariddia’s borders. It is situated in one of the more remote of Ariddia’s nineteen islands, inside the city of Wavecrest, and is hopefully to be, in the intent of the Ariddian government, “a forum of discussion amidst socially-minded nations”.

The International Communist See of Teshven District (http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index.cgi/target=display_nation/nation=teshven_district) (or Principality of Teshven District) will be an autonomous territory outside the sphere of Ariddian government, a neutral territory, or no-man’s-land. On its ground lies a building that will serve as a Parliament of sorts in which delegates from any and all Communist nations may meet and discuss Communist theory and practise, the future of Communist nations and of the Communist cause world-wide, as well as establish closer bonds and possibly mutual aid.

The District is an area in Wavecrest containing many new buildings, mostly skyscrapers, initially erected to meet with the needs of Ariddia’s rapidly increasing population. As yet, there are only about 1400 people living within the boundaries of the new State, and they will retain Ariddian citizenship while also becoming Teshveni citizens. The many unoccupied rooms within these brand new buildings will serve to house international delegates, and embassies of all willing nations, be they Communist or not.

The Teshveni Parliament will be in a vast, specially designed building, still under construction. It will be a place for pure talk, a gathering point for international Communism. The Parliament will issue to the world statements of principle agreed upon by all participants, which will of course not be binding on any nation, but will serve merely as advice and reflection.

The precise status of the District itself may be a subject for debate amongst participants. As matters stand at present, the inhabitants of the District are granted the full right to manage their own affairs as they see fit, and to appeal to Ariddian supervision, or that of any other Communist nation, if they so desire.

Teshven District is operational the moment Communist countries and others wish to recognise it and send delegates and/or ambassadors. Simply indicate whether you wish for your nation to have a seat in the Teshveni Parliament, and whether you would like an embassy. Questions are welcome.

Teshven may be reached by air, by land or by sea. If you are coming for official diplomatic purposes, you will of course be greeted by the Ariddian authorities. If you are a private citizen of a foreign nation and coming by air, you may arrive at Wavecrest’s airport, where you will announce at customs that you are visiting Teshven, not Ariddia. By land, enter via the border checkpoint within the city of Wavecrest. By sea, you will arrive at the harbour in Wavecrest then proceed by land as above.

For the time being, the People's Republic of Tri femia would wish to establish an embassy in the Teshven District. Our government would wish to witness the practical functioning of this "Communist See" before detemining if the PRT would wish further participation.

It's good to see Communists being inspired to produce a Communist version of The Holy See and The Vatican City. Good ideas never die.

God bless
