I got to thinking about the Military ball that my ROTC unit has and is coming up. Why not have a ball in my country? This would be where my President announces his engagement and your characters may do the same. Most of my Generals will attend, and this would be a good place for a spy to get valuable intel. So, anyone up?

Well, of course I'll be there...Kowalski will get to see Lauren all gussied up, and finally meet the man, the myth, the legend, Robert Fortier, force of F*cking nature, and the essential Imitoran.

Also, secutiry will be limited to up to four bodyguards per VIP (plus one head of security), and their weapons can not use flamethrowers, explosives, or shoot AP rounds. IF we catch you doing such, the guards will be jailed and weapons confiscated until the ball is over. However, after the ball, everything will be placed on a plane back to your home country. VIPs may carry only knives into the ballroom, and no security guards may be allowed inside the ballroom. However, the guards will be able to look inside and they will have their own observation room as well as a joint observation/control room. Droids must be deactivated when they hit CM soil, but can be reactivated if necessary. Pretty lax stuff really.

lol Realians aren't droids, per se. They're not people either, for that matter. Closer to bio-genetically breed and enhanced bio-androids. lol

Don't have to worry, Kywsaki won't have any weapons, and the Realians are weapons in and of themselves. :D

In line with a current policy aimed at raising international profile, the Vorlon Empire would like to send an Ambassador, Kosh Alkesh, to... observe the festivities. Due to certain peculiarities of the species, they rarely, if ever, leave armoured 'Encounter Suits' which provide them with protection against adverse atmospheres - they have been known to claim that nitrogen-oxygen atmospheres are poisonous to them - there are numerous systems in these suits, some of which could be energy weapons or other defences, or simply more mundane devices. Certainly, disarming them would be very difficult, given that they’re fully integrated, but they can be powered completely down. As something of mitigation for this, the ambassador does and will travel alone, with no bodyguards.

Speaking out of character, I can guarantee that the ambassador won't use any weapons or start any violence unless physically attacked. In character well, he rarely gives straight answers.

Given certain developments, Z'Ha'Dum is reasonably interested in being allowed to send a guest, as well. Of course, all requirements will be met.

So, if possible, we would like you to welcome Alisha Adani, who may or may not be accompanied. She will be unarmed, although her (possible) company might have the ability to defend itself in reasonable ways (Yet, given their odd 'designs', their capacities cannot really be counted under the list CM gave).

Yes, P3X, duels are legal but only if the two sign a document stating that they are willing participants and are Citizens. Also, duels are going to be suspended here exactly because of this. Any as I said, knives and knives only.

Good question. Let me clairify. Ceremonial swords are allowed, small (under 6 inches) sheath knives hidden under a coat, or small (under 4") pocket knives are allowed. Now if you start a fight using these, you will be fined and/or imprisoned for up to 50 years or until your ransom is paid. lol

The party has no set start time, just a timeframe of next week to two weeks (start) and the party will end when it is finished (just like a real one). Booze will consist of JAck Daniels, Kolashnikov Vodka, and many types of wine. However, you must surrender your blades if you choose to drink jsut so no IIs happen.

And on the weapons thing, we're a FT nation, so our sensors are pretty good. Even MT, you can use "T-Rays" (it's short for Terrorist, like a 3d X-ray in use today)

The Ambassador did not send any information regarding drinks. He would perhaps avail himself of something while he was there, but as the Vorlons loved to restrict access about their biology, quite what he would enjoy ingesting (and even what was safe for him to ingest) was a mystery.

Forgive me if this has already been answered, but what are the restrictions reguarding transportation? The Prime Minister refueses to arrive in anything but his personal CH-47 Chinook.

Well, seeing as how this is going to happen in a space colony, Chinook travel will be problematic at best. I'll give everyone coordinates and we'll pick you up on shuttle craft. Also, Kargucagstan will be the last person who comes besides some RL friends of mine. Thanks Tanara for the list. 40+- people in total will be a handful, especially since I have to RP 5 different ones...lol

Can your shutle pilots be trusted? out Prime Minister is very dear to us, and we shudder at the thought of him being in an accident. Furthermore, what I said about his Chinook is very true, you'd better send a shuttle capable of carrying the helicopter... One last thing: when exactly is this party set for in RL?

Ok, everyone, your party favor IS the shuttle. It is approx 2050-2100 tech and the controls are very similar to that of a helicopter. We'lll train your men a month before the party.

My tech level is somewhere between 2250 and 3000 (Asguard from Stargate to Star Wars to HALO). We vary in spots, but our NS year is currently 2038. All of the tech is thanks to Northrop Grumman and a little technological-plans backstep we did early on.

Don't forget Kasandral, CM. If Mike is there, she wouldn't miss it for her life.

#1 They have obviously gamed with you before...

#2 They have read the games you have GMed

#3 They are long term gamers and therefore justifiably paranoid - but is it really paranoia when they Really are out to get you?

#5 And with this much military testosterone , do you really think the foggy bottom brigade is going to counter act it?

And given that 1. ooc assurances not to fuck up stuff have been given, and further, that shadows have, icly, been rarely observed, with Vorlons being pretty much... Never been observed, and both of them being rather inactive, ic knowledge of the... Conflicts between the two should be rare, if not unextant. As such, no real reason to be worried about either presence.

* Given NS' violent nature, which kind of makes it a Shadow paradise, the backstory was twisted, a little, in so far as the last war was won by the Shadows, who are, by now, simply, quietly observing the beautiful universe of chaos that is NS. And this is disregarding the additional problems given by the presence of nations with comparable, up to superior technology, turning NS into something pre- last great war (10k years ago in the B5 timeline).

The 'foggy bottom brigade' is the slang term for dipolmats ( specifically American diplomats - the others tend to get called the 'striped coat brigade' )

And most of the parties in the games I've been in have had....interesting occurances ( and being a GM myself, my definition of 'interesting' <efg> tends to make my players loose sleep )

Yes. The Shadows aren't the type to start a direct confrontation, and though Mr Alkesh could possibly defeat the escorts from Z'Ha'Dum, the retaliation would cause the Vorlons major problems. Thus, he'll restrain himself.

I am afraid I have to announce that President Jones will Not be escorted by Captain Roth, as a Coconut Cream Pie to the face is a truer hit than merely one to the center of mass.

President Jones escort will be Dr. Sinjin C'nn noh' Vin. ( He is Tanara's foremost weapon designer, and noted physicist - thus, perhaps, his accurate aim with a pie )
