Yes, this is totally crazy, but I thought I'd test the water with this, just to see what happened.
Currently taking place in the UK is Celebrity Big Brother. I think they do BB in America as well, although I'm not entirely sure. Basically what happens is that ten random people from the public (or eight celebrities in the case of CBB) enter a house and are completely cut off from the rest of the world. There is no news. There is no contact with family. There is just the house ands the other housemates. The housemates live in the house for, potentially, seventy days, and go about their day to day lives, occasionally completing challenges set by the boss, Big Brother.
Of course, it would be nowhere near as popular as it is if that was all. The tasks are usually disgusting, degrading and/or difficult, and usually important matters such as the food budget are decided on the outcome of the tasks. Success reaps its rewards, but failure could prove fatal (not literally - it's a figure of speech). As well as this, every week, the housemates nominate two people that they would like to see leave the house. The two with the highest number of votes are up for eviction. The public then vote on who they would like to see leave, and whoever gets the most votes does just that. Eventually just one housemate is left in the house, and they receive a maximum cash prize of £100,000, although this is usually depleted severely by the time the ten weeks are up.
So, what I was thinking was whether it would be possibe to do an NS Big Brother, with ten people from ten nations entering the house. It would be a big challenge, I realise that, but I feel that this could really work. If you have any questions or (gasp) would like to apply to take part, feel free to do so right here. I really want to see if this can be done, and I would like as much input and feedback as possible.
Remember though, Big Brother is always watching, and when he says, you do, or face the consequences. Absolutely anything can happen...and it usually does.
