Introduction to the Colonial Armed Forces
by Trent Westin, Vice Admiral(ret),Colonial Fleet

The Colonial Military has had a long and storied past since its inception close to four decades ago with the foundation of the Joint Colonies. Our numbers are currently comprised of two elements. The Colonial Fleet and Colonial Army. The Fleet currently numbers 120,000 personnel and is deployed mainly on support vessels, bases, such as the Fleet Headquarters at Picon and on the twelve Battlestars(Atlantia, Pegasus, Rycon, Columbia, Galactica, Pacifica, Triton, Acropolis, Solaria, Promotheus, Argo and Poseidon) we have. The Colonial Army number around 240,000 support and combat personnel however we should be kept in mind, that all members of the Colonial Military are trained as army personnel first due to the nature of previous wars and therefore able to make an easy transition to ground combat units should needs dictate so.

Currently the Battlestars Rycon and Pegasus are on anti-pirate patrol while the Atlantia and Galactica are....

A Small History of the Colonies and The Lords of Kobol
by Priestess Yvette Nikola

Four centuries ago our ancestors on the planet Kobol dispatched colony vessels in an attempt to flee the dying star before it consumed the entire system. We say twelve even though the Book of Kobol says that a thirteen colony ship left before the additional twelve. However this colony vessel has never been confirmed, and since we were the first ones to arrive at the Cyranus system we believe this Thirteenth Colony vessel to be a prototype a sorts which was lost. On Kobol our society was closely knit in twelve seperate yet equally powerful and united tribes. However through space we had lost our ties with each other. As we set up on our respective worlds we even clashed with one another. No war was ever destructive but for nearly two centuries humanity remained fragmented and progress was slow.

However where progress did break through, and where it did shine we would find ourselves nearly condeming all of humanity. The Cylons as they came to be known were created through our huburis in an attempt to mimic what the Great Lords of Kobol managed eons ago as stated in the book of Kobol. However we were not ready to give life to another species and soon the Cylons turned on Humanity. The twelve colonies were united and a bloody civil war of sorts ensued in ernst. Many lives were lost until the Cylons could be exiled to the depths of space and many more lives were given in the subsequent unending war with the Cylons. During this time the Colonial Fleet was devised and the first five Battlestars(Pegasus,Atlantia,Galactica,Columbia and Rycon) were built as flagships of the navy and protectors of the colonies. Finally though the toll of death on both sides had reached a point where humanities calls for peace were finally answered.

It was an unsteady peace. Humanity feared its creation, one which rose up against it easily and had little remorse for its creators. However it has been nearly 37 years since we have heard from the Cylons. Attempts at contacting them have gone unaswered, probes sent to monitor their space are frequently jammed and destroyed. Currently humanity is in an age of unparralleled growth and peace...
