The settlement contained a dozen or so people. All of teenage years or older. The village itself was made of more or less stone and brick. They had obviously been scrounging the outskirts of the Dead City, as they called it.

The fields were full of growing wheat, soy-beans, carrots, corn and other crops, with a few left bare for a season. Donk was out there, as he usually was in the daylight hours, removing weeds and tending to the needs of the individual plants.

The grazing lands were lush, despite the goats and sheep milling about in it. Moving with them was the human that cared for them, Abriel. She poked at a slow sheep to ureg it back to the others that were moving away from the fence.

The entire villiage seemed a throwback to a time long past. The only thing that broke that illusion was the fact that there were patrols with geiger counters and sidearms.

---------------

In the villiage, no building was larger than any other by any great amount. All were only one or two rooms, depending on the inhabitants. The residence of The Angel was actually the smallest, though not by much. It was decorated with shiney metals and had the nicest furnishings, but in this villiage, that wasn't all that good.

Sitting in a rocking chair was The Angel himself, speaking softly with Catoran.

"I believe that we have attracted the outside world's attention, sir."

I see. What do you suggest we do about it, if anything? I would welcome visitors to our settlement.

"I agree, but their ways are like we had before. The ways of large, polluting machines. The machines that make weapons of war-"

The machines that made the weapons that gave rise to me?

"Uh, yes sir. That is true, but I would still advise caution. You are so unique, they may see you as a freak of nature and not a man that has a great gift. They may attempt to harm you or capture you."

I understand this, Catoran. I will be cautious and I believe that having them watched is a precausion that is acceptable. Please organize that.

"As you wish..."

A massive victory had been won in the name of the Atlantian Federation agenst the Neo-Atlantians.

But to the people of the Olympia mk.1, it had been a total disaster. Well....most of them where dead, and Admiral Vega (as well as a few of his bridge crew officers) where on the Olympia mk.2, and had won the day.

So let me start over.

The survivors of the distruction of the ship figured it had been a total disaster. Then agian, the planet they where standing on hadn't been blown to high Olympus, so it wasn't all bad.

Was it?

The place where this particular chunk of ship debris had landed was in a gods-for-saken hell hole with no hope of survivle, and less hope of rescue.

Kinda put a damper on your weekend. I mean seriously, if you where stuck on a toxic wastland for a few months...ok, those survivor contestants probably know what this feels like. Ok, back to the story.

Anyway, several people, by pure luck, had managed to survive the crash, and where now living among the ruins of their vessel. About 47 had survived the crash and where still living by last count. They had managed to create a temporary society as they struggled to survive.

One of the Ensigns, a person by the name of Goran, finally grew tired of having to sit around waiting for the next meal of the gods know what they where calling "food" at this point. So, he left. In search of a way to get home.

Coming from a warrior family, he always felt naked without a weapon, weather it be a stick, a sword, or a trans-phasic plasma missle launcher complete with hundreds of add-ons and an ungodly price range. It was all the rage back home.

Kinda.

Sorta.

maybe.

no.

So what if the soccer moms where angry? Not the kiddies fault they wanted to blow stuff up.

At any rate, this random redshirt took off with an Energy firing Trident, a short sword, and an Orcalic phaser rifle.

Oh, and lets not forget about 3 hand-mines. You know, those things you used to use in the yard to try to get rid of that gopher problem. ...Before the lawsuits came....

So, fully loaded, he took off, carrying a day's rashions worth of "food" and "water", off in an unknown direction....at night...when people couldn't stop him...

Laura sat in the passenger area of the Leer Jet, calmly reading a newspaper. "Hmmm... Alhaelc is still plagued by riots (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=387750), I see. Le sigh... Things just never change, do they?" Unlike most Gnufasurians, who spoke Gnufasurian, Laura spoke plain English, and quite well, too.

Her human pilot chuckled. "No ma'am. Things hardly ever change. But, what can ya do about it?"

Laura herself chuckled, turning the page, and reading the headlines to herself, before saying ouloud. "Seems alot of people are getting kidnapped (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=388145) too. No one's asking for ransoms yet, though... What's the world coming to?"

"Dunno, ma'am. We're coming up on the continent now. Hmmm... Seems there's an old airfield I can set down on."

"Make it so." She said, putting away the newspaper and leaning back into the ultra comfy seat.

~~~~~~~~~
Behind her, Steve the Leer Jet pilot waved, and started the jet up for take off. Laura wasn't rich, by far. But, Steve did owe her big time from when she saved his ass from those crocadiles. He happened to own a jet, and said he'd fly her anywhere she needs to go. See? Being overly helpful does pay off in the long run.
Laura wore a pretty basic leather outfit, her broadsword firmly fastened to her side in easy reeach when need be. Her scruffy blue hair was, as always, scuffy, her blue furred cat ears sticking out of the unmessed with hair. A badge on her jacket identified her as an EHAV Member.
Hefting up her backpack, she glanced around, produced a folded up map from her jacket pocket, and read it. "Hmmm... Seems this place where the Angel is just due north of here. Right. Roger wilco, let's go!"
Wishing she had the foresight to at least bring a bike with her, Laura sets off walking to the north, where the village where the Radation Angel awaits...
What was it her mother had said? Be one with nature? The last time I was 'one with nature', there were giant ants crawling over me. Amber Fotheringown, a scientist of fair renown and ability (like her father), tempered by the lady like nature, compassion and just plain passion (like her mother), whirled around and caught a face full of dirt and dust spray.
The local drivers she'd hired hadn't even wanted to come here. They'd muttered something about curses and danger. Some men had their price and it had taken a huge chunk of her father's sprawling fortunes just to get her here to the outskirts... And now she'd have to take the long way back to civilisation (by walking) because that so called hired help had just sped off.
As she rinsed her mouth from the canteen she'd brought along, she wondered why the locals were afraid. There seemed to be an adequate and thriving community here. "Can't have been too bad if there's healthy crops growing." She muttered mostly to herself in a slightly British accent. Another legacy of her parents, mostly her mother.
Still, it was on the outskirts of the so called Dead City, a city thought to have been destroyed by nuclear warfare who knows how long ago... And there was rumored to be some dark secret (as if there could ever be a genuine good secret). With a grunt, Amber shifted the heavy backpack on her back for more comfort as she headed off into the village.
She stared at the men with geiger counters and the weapons. She had plenty of instruments, but she wasn't armed. Her parents had been strict pacifists, always insisting that brains will provide all that she needed... As well as a fair bit of luck and using whatever was at hand. Hey, it had worked against that angry tribe or that charging wild pig...
Oh, right, yes... I'm here to investigate. Amber looked to the tallest and most elegant building (where any 'government' or important people would be) and headed off in that direction.
IC:
The patrol called out back to the villiage about the approach of Amber, then only paused their patroling to watch her. Obviously not the gaurds on the city walls, as it were.
The populace, such as it was, went on with their day, nodding to her or just ignoring her. As it became apparent she was here for some reason and not just being lost, one man approached. A bald black man of good build with the cliched 'evil dictator' style beard, which had grayed. He nods to her and smiles. "Greetings to you, traveller. I am Catoran, the High Priest of this villiage. The only priest, really... What can the Village of the Angel do for you, this day?"
Backpack held firmly on her back, hands grasping the shoulder straps, Laura marched on her way north. To pass the time, she sung a song.
"]I'd give up forever to touch you,
Cause I know that you'd feel me somehow.
You're the closest to Heaven that I'll ever be,
and I dun want to go home right now.
Hmmm hmmm hmmm...
And sooner or later it's over,
I just don't want to miss you again.
And I don't want the world to see me,
Cause I don't think that they'd understand.
When everything's meant to be broken,
I just want you to know who I am..."
She hummed the rest of the song, knowing only the tune after the first chorus...
An hour or so has passed since Laura landed on this continent. She could see farm lands up ahead, the towering 'Dead City' looming in the background. "Well, here we are... Hmmm... Better pop that Rad-X pill now..."
Letting her backpack drop, she turned around and begun to dig in it, her feline tail swishing back and forth furiously as she found the bottle with the single Rad-X pill in it. Opening it, she worked up some salvia, popped the pill in her mouth, and swallowed. "Hmmm... Better." Closing her backpack back up, she hefts it up onto her back, and turns to the village, taking in a few quick breaths, before setting out for the village.
The day had past. He had no water or food left, and he was sure to die in this hell hole.
And to his luck.....probably the luck of a plot device....up ahead was what seemed to be a bombed out Terran city. he figured someone has to still be living in there, so Goran made his way towards the city....alone...
Laura would have waltzed right into the village center, but several hours of walking made her legs hurt too much to do any such thing. So, she settled for walking like a sane person.
The village was small, and rather... Typical for a post-nuclear Acopalyspe town. Around one of the smaller 'houses' was a small group of humans. "Gnufasur, we have contact." Ignoring most of the weird looks she got from the inhabinets, she strode right up behind the burnette woman currently talking and stopped, tilting her head to one side. "Adventure? Nya? Ooo! Can I come along too?" She smiled a very bright smile, showing she meant no harm, even her tail swished back and froth all friendly like.
Catoran hmmphed to himself, then smirked at the young woman. "There's only one thing of interest in this villiage, besides the view of the Dead City. You wish to meet him, I assume. I only ask for what-" He paused and blinked at the other female, then looked back at the human woman. "I only ask for what reason."
----------------
The patrols were growing a bit nervous at the fact two foriegners had arrived in their lands at the same time.
Which meant they asked Donk to come out of teh fields for a bit and do a patrol or two. He obliged, but took a small potted flower with him. Which defeated the purpose of intimidating anyone heading their way, much to the patrol's chagrin.
Sooner or later, sooner actually, they caught sight of the trident carrying figure and Donk immediatly broke off his patrol and wandered out to greet the stranger. "'Ey der!" he yelled, grinning his head off.
The man on patrol with him just rubbed his head and sighed.
OOC: Sorry about the random entrance in the middle of things, but I'm late, and I have a VTOL craft. Mwaa.
IC:
The shuttle tore through the sky, ripping a small cloud to fragments with its passing. At its controls sat a thickset man in his middle thirties. He wore a standard Marine field uniform, all dust browns and mottled greens. Beside him, a slight woman bit her fingernails.
"What's leaving you so worried," the man asked of his companion.
"I hate flying, I always have." There was a slight quaver to Doctor Elise Davidson's voice as she eyed the onrushing ground nervously. About a half mile away, a small settlement seemed to have been carved into the cracked and blemished earth, its primative buildings a strange sight to a woman who had spent all of her adult life in the teeming cities of Gurguvungunit.
"We'll be down soon," replied Marine Captain Sam Whitters. He had done this sort of thing hundreds of times, once under enemy fire. As the ground neared, Sam kicked in the landing jets, and the shuttle roared to a halt above the ground. He dialed down the power to the jets, slowly allowing the craft to touch down. Elise let out an explosive gasp.
"Let's not do that again, okay?"
A few minutes later, pack on their backs, the two oddly matched companions trudged stolidly along the path. The colour had returned to Elise's face, and she allowed her gaze to wander. The ground was hard, the earth cracked and broken around them. No large animals showed themselves, only a few insects buzzed around their heads as nature fought to regain her tenuous grip on the blighted land.
"Sam, look," Elise pointed to a cluster of buildings. "We're nearly there." The Marine unfastened the holster of his pistol, allowing for a quick draw. He believed in being prepared. In counterpoint, the Doctor fished out a hand scanner from her pack, and started recording the radiation levels and pollution residue in the air. She tapped the machine gently, eliciting a quiet beeping sound. Elise shook her head.
"The radiation levels are climbing. They're not lethal yet, but I wouldn't want to live here..." She trailed off as they approached the buildings. Several people had gathered around, one in monastic robes, the other two in field gear. "Greetings," she called out.
The black man smiled faintly at them, obviously not all too thrilled, but trying to be hospitable. "The villiage welcomes you both. So long as you do not interfere with the normal workings of the villiage."
He looked up at the other two and openly frowned. "Military..." he muttered. At that, he looked back to the others. "Just how many nations know about us?"
Enough do, Catoran... I am happy to see we have interested the outside world. The red skinned man stepped from his small home and stretched his arms a bit. I believe that I am the object of curiousity you all wished to see? He smilled a bit at them, his light blue, pupiless, eyes shining.
At first the Angel just blinked at the cat person. After a moment, he smiled. I'm not sure what EHAV is, but I am fine, as allways.
The Angel had an interesting effect on the gieger counters, were any on. They would seem to pulse high and then drop off to almost nothing, repeating constantly in the Angel's presence. As my High Priest has said, you are all welcome here and I will be happy to answer any questions you have about my person or the villiage. Though, for the most part, what you see is what you get. He turned as he spoke, to look abouyt the villiage once, before facing them again. It then became apparent he was not bald, but had a long tail of black hair from a perfectly circular sprouting on the back of his head. The rest had nothing, not even stubble.
The heat was astounding, overwhelming, all encompassing. He could not think let alone live, yet the isolation that had preceded this abrupt, cruel, entrance back into life had tossed his mental state into something of a death itself. The living dead he very well was, serenity dawning over passion as to wipe clean what was to replace what now is. Monotony had been depleted from his cosmic mayhem, and so He found himself here.
The niche was a glowing red, sparks shooting off brilliantly from every angle. Steam was billowing and choking, pressuring him as it continued to fill his cramped prison. Smoke mixing in with the air obscured everything as to give the illusion of a fire. He was once again in hell, the vision of the daemons fleeting and stark.
A deafening crack and the vessel blew away, sucking the occupancy out. Steam and heat exploded from this crevice as He was thrown from his residence of torture.
As the luminescence of Silver continued to soar through the Sky, trailing feathery Reds and Oranges, Jakishi fell to the Earth followed by a vibrant Green Orb.
The weather had appeared pleasant to most, but then again the elements never bothered her since she could remember.
Ha! I can only remember this past week. Much of what has been all new in this nation, which I still do not know the name of.
She grumbled. She shuffled her feet on the ground and kicked up dust.
"Ahhh...chooo!" She began to sniffle and cough. She swatted away the dirt and wiped her face to clean away the cake of dirt that had settled on it. She shook her head and more dust scattered about from her hair in all directions.
Finally her multicolored hair settled around her body, colors of white, silver, gray and black, to blanket her shoulders and upper back.
The sun shone on her pale white skin and even though throughout her time under it did it burn or tan it. Flawless. Her complexion is the same all over her body. (more of description, sorry about the pciture, guess I forgot the rules)
Her eyes fell upon the village.
I do hope to be able to find something here. Maybe even my past.
Donk removed the hand and nodded, "Ya... dat's the Dead City. You dun wanna go in der. De village is where we live." He points over across the fields. "Got food and stuff for ya t' eat. Ya hungry?" He seemed kind enough, like the old brute with the heart of gold stories.
-----
The Angel smirked a bit at the bowing woman. If I'm no more special than your family, why the bows? he chuckled. Please Amber, do not decieve me. I know that a dead city with a few people nearby isn't going to bring international visitors. The only reason you are here is me, because you are curious. How did I survive the City? How does this villiage survive the radiation? Why has my skinned reddened? Why have my eye's blued and gone pupiless without blinding me?
He looked at his Priest who tilted his head slightly and it would be apparent that he was teh only one oustide the strangers looking at the Angel. The rest were trying to look away from him. Our villiage doesn't matter to you, does it? Our problems are small compared to your goals, yes? I'm sorry if I seem cynical or even rude, but one who arrives, ignores the villiage itself and immediatly looks for the one non-normal person in it is not here to just drop by for tea. I am a curiousity to you. I have no problem with that, so long as you respect the village.
-----------
Abriel stood in the fields, tending to the sheep as she watched the group. "Outsiders. Was only a matter of time." Coming from Needles, she was a very xenophobic person, not even liking to speak to other villiagers. Outsiders were nothing but trouble in her mind. She turned to see Donk and teh otehr talking and sighed. "I wonder how long until he gets tricked into giving up a chunk of our food to that guy?" she asked the sheep, who ignored her.
She didn't see Isabella, who was on the path to the villiage behind her and just tended to her flock, pushing her red hair back from her face.
Those which can advance both our causes the fastest and in the most simple way. While we're being truthful, sir, I have found that where civilisation has not welcomed travellers like me... That those who hear of the exchanges here would be bold enough to help. But nevertheless, since you welcome me with open arms... I... Humbly uh... Willingly agree to obey to whatever laws you may have in force here. Treat me as you would treat any of your citizens.
"Though while we are on that topic, sir, I have also come here. I doubt my nation's farmers could produce such hardy and bountiful a harvest, any time of the year. Your people could teach mine quite a lot about feeding hungry mouths."
Tiara looked down as the security cameras watched her every movement. A few soldiers stood in the corridor as they blocked off the exit. The girl had come to a dead end. She turned around, and looked at them, a grin upon her face.
“Don’t move!” One shouted. “On your stomach, arms out to the side. Slowly.” She didn’t move. “I’ll give you until three. One…two…” Tiara looked up at them, her white eyes alluring there’s. Hesitantly, they put down their guns, and began to walk towards her. They were not sensitive enough to realize that there was a growl underneath her breathing, and that her left eye had turned blue…and her right eye had turned red.
“I really don’t like you picking on my sister,” a deep voice said in a whisper. A translucent image was set over Tiara as she stared at them. An image of someone who had died many years ago, and someone they would not want to meet. But how could they have known…the Shentavo Empire died out years ago. Slowly, the government was returning…but now, neither Tiara nor her mother had any control of the renegade military. That would all change in due time.
______________
Tiara looked down as she walked, denim jacket pulled tightly over her shoulders with black pants and a white blouse. She had dyed her hair blonde, but you couldn’t tell it wasn’t natural, as she did it two days ago. It was a golden blonde in the sunlight, but at night it seemed to be lighter for some reason. She wore a black hat which was tipped off to one side.
Dead City… she said silently to herself as she walked. If the rumors are true…my mother isn’t alone here anymore…
Laura ignored the burnette woman, but she did muttered "What's so great about looking human anyways? Nyo..." under her breath, her tail low to the ground.
To the Angel, she just shrugged. "Well, I'm here because I want to be. I'm more or less a private citizen, only loosely affiliated with my government through the EHAV Group." She pulled a little spin, litterally a ball of rambunctist energy, "But yeah. If'n ya need any helping hands, I'd be glad to earn my meals and lodging working the fields. Not all of us are freeloaders, ya know." She made just the barest of head nods towards Amber and her group.
Donk and the hungry guy, as he'd been labeled in Don'ks mind, crossed by the fields soon ad Donk looked out at them. "I'm in charge of all o' dis. Spen' mosta ma day out der."
They reach the villiage soon enough, though don't aproach the others. Donk takes a seat and has a villiager bring the man a bowl of rice. Strange that the had any, since there were no rice paddies the way they came. "Have at it din, stranger, it's clean o' de rad."
----------------
Before the Angel could speak again, Corotan spoke up. "We're not that amazing. The food is grown from a strain of plants we took from our homelands. They can survive in radiation and thrive, though the output was radioactive at first. Over time, however, the plants turned the extra radiation into energy and grew more and fuller. Now the output is no more radioactive than the air. And we breathe that everyday unprotected."
The air is contaminated, as you all allready know. The villiage is protected by our location, where winds are no more than light breezes, and by me. You see, I am like the anti-matter to radiation's matter. I attract ammounts of radiation, which strike my person, are destroyed and create that radiation spike on your gieger counters. I was a shining white figure as I exited that city... now I just glow a bit.
The Angel looked down at the Neko. Good, I'm sure if you wish to help that one of the crafts would be happy to oblige. Not many times someone wants to learn our ways hands on.
Laura smiled brightly, in a kind of cute kid sister kind of way. "Learn by doing, tis my motto friend. Well, better get to work then. I'll let Miss Thing here have at you. Hopefully I won't be too tired tonight to talk." She winked.
And with that, Laura turned around, glancing about for something she could be helpful with. Not manual labor. I'm not THAT strong... Hmmm... Sheep... Strike that, radioactive sheep... Hmmm... Tasty-ish. And with that thought, she strode off for the sheep herds.
She was, by far, no farmer, but herding sheep couldn't be all that hard. She noted that there were a few others already here. Locals, it seems. One a female, to whom Laura waved. "'Ullo! Stopping by to see if'n you need a helping hand with anything."
Isabella finally reached the town. Her attire was apparently different from the others. This still confused her because she didn't know why she was wearing this or why they were wearing the clothes they choose to.
Her outfit covered much of her body and was made out of animal hide. A soft blackish-gray leather. She wore pants that were snug to her built legs. They were tucked into harder black leather boots that reached to her knees. Her top was a tank top the covered her chest and rest at the curve of her waist. Her stomach flat and ribbed with muscle. On her arm were several leather bands and she also has leather gloves in her tote bag. In the bag was several coins, which she did not recognise and a small sword. And that blew her mind she would have anything that would hurt another person.
She walked down the path and people moved out of her way. This did not bother her in any way. She was alone in the world and that did not matter. Well, she doesn't remember anyone in her life.
She just wanted to talk to someone though. She needed answers and maybe someone would have them here.
It has been occuring since I came from the City. Several months, at least. This... is a concern to you?
As Isabella appriached, Corotan stepped from the group and nodded to her, though the Angel was allways in his field of vision. "Welcome to the Villiage of the Angel. I am Corotan."
"Singing... In the rain. I'm singing, in the rain. What a wondeful feeling... I'm happy again."
A brilliant little diddy, no? One of the few memories that he held on to was this melody, repeating it over and over again as he staggered through the field. His clothing was ragged and filthy, contrary to what he would be if given the chance. Jakishi's entire demeanor was very worn, gnaut, in on itself. Yet he recited these lyrics as if on a Sunday stroll.
Then quite suddenly, he entered an open clearing.
"Singing in the-"
And he found himself knee deep in Sheep.
This of course, prompted him to a panic attack. This includes but is not limited to running or vomiting at any given time during a panic attack untill releived of Sheep.
Laura blinked, then rose one hand and pointed. Over a bit in the middle of the flock was a single man, obviously an outsider from his looks. He seemed to be panicy, running in circles, and stopping once in a while to vomit and scream in terror. This of course ratteled the sheep, who bayed in fear and trampled each other to get out of the stranger's way.
Laura's hand dropped to her broadsword, then remembered her .44 Revolver in her backpack. "Umh... I'm no farmer, but that doesn't look too fine to me."
She wouldn't have time to grab her Revolver if this person, obviously insane from rad exposure, turned violent, so she would have to hope her Kendo training paid off. She clicked off the strap holding the broadsword in it's scabbard with one thumb, her other hand wrapping itself firmly around the handle.
Tiara ran her hand along the entrance way at the door of the city. She slammed her right fist to her left palm and began to change. She ran her right hand through her blond hair to push it out of her soft silvery eyes. A cloak tied around her shoulders, the hood over her head. It seemed strange that one girl could carry a broad sword so large, which was now in her right hand, leaning on her shoulder. Her hair had turned completely white. “Now where can I find this angel.” http://www.geocities.com/sharon_meiou/sh/fanfics/sword-ff7.gif
“Don’t ask me,” a voice inside of her head replied. “My expertise was always in killing and manipulations, and getting the weak to perish and leave my academy.”
“That’s enough. We’re here on business. You’re lucky I was born with the abilities I have, or you my dear brother, would be without a body.”
“Forgive me,” the voice replied with an obvious smile. “Miss Tiara.” As the entity within her smiled, her lips drew up as well, baring fangs as she parted her lips. “Believe me, if you had not developed the ability enough, I would have stayed with others. Psions like Genesis, her death is a shame, isn’t it?”
“Truly.”
Laura releases her broadsword, woking instead to herd the sheep away from the duo, to give them plenty of room to do whatever they're going to do, be it fight or 'something' else.
"Keet keet keet!" She chants, clapping her hands in rythem to carrol the sheep, forming a loose circle around the two. Turning back, she faced the two to watch, and to provide assistance to the woman if need be.
The sheep were happy to be finally left alone by the weird catgirl person, and resumed grazing...
Tiara’s lips and pale chin were the only features identifiable apart from a few stray strands of bleach blonde hair which had found there way out of the hood of her cloak. She carried her broadsword in her right hand over her shoulder, and there for it exposed the clothing on her right side. She wore a black shirt with delicate and intricate embroidering of two thin golden dragons, twisting and turning up either side around her back. She wore thick brown boots which came up to her thigh, with latches and buckles very accommodative to any hidden weapons, such as a knife…or hair pin. Her dark brown cloak had an inlay of black silk.
She walked towards the city at a leisurely pace, only her lips visible to anyone she turned to. She could see them. With the entity within her, she could see them as clear as day.
Jakishi looked dumbfounded up to the woman, breathing labourously.
"The wool suffocates- It will suffocate you-"
Then the vibrant green Orb landed squarely on his face, quelling any attempt to speak. It sat there for a moment or two, sparkling in all of it's glassy marvel, then sort of just plopped off to the side.
"The wool- Beware of the wool-"
Ever so melodramatically he reached up for her, hand shaking ever so slightly for that extra drama, before finally collapsing ever so anti climactically onto his back.
The Orb crackled delightfully.
She set about herding the sheep away from the various pools of the man's vomit, and made sure to keep it that way. All in all, this is pretty fun. I like this. She planted one end of the staff into the ground, then glanced at the floating green orb which remained. She let out a bored sigh. "Ya from around these parts?" She asked to it, not really expecting a reply.
A sheep bayed, causing Laura's ears to twitch. "Hmm... Yeah, I'm alot more friendlier then that other girl. Hmmm. I hope she likes me." She was talking to either the gathered sheeps or the orb. It was difficult to tell.
"But that other human girl. The brown haired one talking to the Radation Angel right now?" She glanced around, "I dun care for her. But that's between you and me, okay?" She winked at the orb, then made a 'zippered lips' motion to a nearby sheep.
“I’m not a vampire,” Tiara said simply, and entered the building. She did not sit, but she stood, tilting her head. “As for them being extinct, there are a few ancients left here and there, and there are three Shentavo around, while none of the living are vampires, only the dead. You sure don’t look at all like Azrael…but that doesn’t surprise me.”
Tiara undid the clasp of her cloak, and set it on the ground beside her. One of her eyes was red, and one of them was blue. Her hair was bleach blond, almost a white, and was tied back loosely in a clip. “I am, for the most part, human in my normal form. I am Ravelyn Vaughn’s daughter, a shaman…I bind with spirits to give me strength, knowledge, and wisdom. The one that is with me now is forever bound in my heart. He’s my brother…
A dark image of a man with one wing shown in her shadow on the floor. A voice arose throughout the room that would have been recognized clearly by Goor, or others from Crimmond who had known him as the Manavex teacher at the Academy, and former headmaster. Hello there…
“Now that introductions are over with, poor angel, I think you might want to know why I and my brother are here.” She stepped forward, a wide grin on her face. The translucent of Qui Shentavo shown as an overlay to her character, he was the one to speak this time.
You see…Crimmond has attracted me for several reasons. The reason that brings me here really had no concern with you; I will tell you the truth. My family is always truthful. You see…my mother, Ravelyn, has been dead for quite some time. I do remember how I died and every second of slipping away. My essence, however, is preserved by the capabilities I had when I was alive. In time, my dear Tiara will find me a body adequate enough to acquire. His fingertips drifted from the side of Tiara’s face to her neck and off her shoulder. Beautiful, just as a moment in time, isn’t she?
Tiara’s appearance returned to normal, her blond hair falling past her shoulders, and black eyes looking unto the ‘angel’. Qui’s aura had stepped away from her now, and was talking of his own free will. Tiara smiled, the innocent smile you could mistake for nothing else.
She’s the top of her class in this world. You won’t find another shaman quite like her. She is really a sage of the spirit, in my opinion. Why else would I have chosen to go along with her? Now your presence isn’t what brought us here. We were favoring a larger city a ways from here; however this one crossed our path. When I heard of this ‘angel’ I might as well see for my self. I hope you won’t think badly on my family. Ravelyn has no idea this is happening. We’ve set other things to keep her busy at the moment. Chained her back up good. She won’t be getting out for quite a long time. Just enough time for us to set our mark in Crimmond. I knew Azrael wouldn’t approve of it because of her ties with Crimmond, however, times have changed…and I needed her out of the way.
You see, while Tiara holds the ability to take the soul of someone out of their body if they are weakened enough, or free as I was, can be used in reverse. She can put souls into bodies. What more perfect a crime to take over an empire, if the empire is following the same ruler they always have been? Perfect. Isn’t it. No traces. Nothing. And I will be able to destroy my mother once and for all, with the power I will wield.
“Brother, I want to play.” She placed her head against his chest, despite the fact that there was no tangible flesh. “He’s no use to us. He’s nothing but a freak.”
Do you want me to kill him, my love?
“No, let me use Kairi…”
Quissera smiled at the angel. You are lucky today, angel…that I should not be the one to deal with you. Tiara held out her hand, and the image of Qui vanished within her. Tiara smiled.
“People in this village respect you? Would you say you had absolute power over them?” she narrowed her eyes, and set her broadsword forward. “Don’t call for help… if someone walks through that door, I won’t hesitate to cut you.
The Angel just stared at them throughout it, the dull blue eyes revealing nothing, but the small smirk revealing that as he listened, he was amused. You want to take over Crimmond? You're both insane. You do realize who runs that nation... He picks up the notebook he had tapped and opened it. It listed the leaders of several nations, including Crimmond, Automagfreek, Menelmacar and Roania.
Lets see. Delta. From the tales about him, he's a madman who came from Automagfreek. On the out, according to our new villagers. Guess who seems lined up to take over? Lara Tian. A weak minded pacifist. He smiled openly at that point. But knowing he associate, Riok Oran, she's already wrapped around his talons.
He stood slowly at the threat against him and tilted his head. He touched the blade of the sword and chuckled. Do it. Cut me. Kill me. I'm not afraid of death or pain. I'm in pain everyday. You don't think this glow comes without a price, do you? I've walked through a dead city, seeing the skeletons of thousands of dead. I should be dead. So kill me or leave. Your choice.
It glowed with a violent black light. “Say hello to Kairi.”
“Kairi is a shape shifter, and takes on whatever form she has already seen or retains within her memory. She impersonated Genesis for many years, when Gene had passed away before mother’s era. And Rave never knew. She’s good at what she does.” Tiara paused and let the orb hit the ground, causing a black shadow to go about the room, finally settling on a small table. The table was consumed within the shadow, and from it, rose a girl.
When she spoke, it was obvious her voice had changed as well. Guns are what you bring you a fight? I want no trouble. I simply follow orders.
Tiara walked slowly, pulling a lighter out of her pocket, breaking it, and emptying it slowly on the floor of the room. She did this five times, and then continued walking down the stairs. As she got closer to the exit, she lit a match from a match book, and struck it to the fluid.
Guns are what I have. I'm not any type of all powerfull being. I study them, but I am not one. I am still being polite... leave my village. What purpose could it serve you to impersonate me to my own people, when they know what you are?
He holds the gun steady on the... thing, along with Corotan and a patrol that had arrived.
As Goran leaves the villiage, he's pushed past by two patrolmen, guns drawn, running flat out. Either something is going on back the way he came in the village or there's some scary stuff up ahead.
Abriel watched the young woman and her demeanor changed. "So you are here to stay, not to poke around and get in the way?" She smiled, for the first time. "I am Marthe Abriel. I handle the flock and the sheering of them for clothing. Used to be a gun runner... benifits sucked ass, but the pay was good." She nods to the catgirl.
Laura chuckled softly, "I'm not here to stay stay, but I'll stick around for maybe a good month or so, help out wherever I can with whatever I can." Well, at least until my Contract Seeker finds me another job. Her ears twitched.
She tilted her head to one side as Abriel mentioned Gun Runners. "Used to be a Gun runner, eh? That like a..." Her ears twitched again, and she glanced towards the village, sniffing the air. "I smell trouble..." The hairs on her tail suddenly went rigid, standing on end, and her hand grasped her sword handle firmly. "Something's wrong. I can feel it..."
((OOC: Oh, umh... for you other peoples... Laura can't really die in this RP, since she's in Another RP (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=390443), which takes place after this. So, if at all possible, if Laura has to fight your chara, don't kill her and I'll return the favor. Thankies. :D))
Goran squinted as he looked back at the village. Nothing had been going on when he left...and there was no smoke or shouting...so he figured something must have been up ahead.
A challenge.
Smiling, he raced off further into the city, sword and Trident drawn.
Amber frowned as she felt a buzzing in her belt. With a frown, she stood up and pulled out the small communications device, an advanced satellite phone. With a grimace, she stuck the earpiece in her ear and opened the link.
"Doctor, don't react. This is Colonel Topham, 2nd Special Forces Brigade. We've come to extract you from the area so we can cleanse it." The voice sounded slightly raspy, but authoritative.
"You what?!" Amber sounded shocked. The word extract had hit her. That meant Topham and his team were watching her. "On whose authority?"
"That's classified, ma'am." Topham sounded calm.
"That's a lie. Do you realise what you'll do? The Angel thrives on radiation, you're just going to give him more reason to live! Make him more powerful!" Amber hissed into the radio.
"I have my orders, ma'am. We're going to extract you. We'd prefer if you'd come peacefully..."
Amber hit disconnect and stared around the courtyard. "You know, they're going to nuke us in a few minutes... So I'd run if I were you..."
