Soviet Haaregrad

What are the varieties of (non-human) animals in your country?
The Confederacy of Independant Socialist Republics covers a very large amount of land that extends through many biomes, as such I'll only list a few of the more notable species here, broken up by region.
Some species are able to adapt to survive across the Confederacy, these include foxes, raccoons, rabbits, rats, mice, coyotes, crows and many other creatures known to most city and suburb dwellers in North America and Europe.
Northern Haaregrad
Northern Haaregrad has a climate ranging from sub-Arctic to Boreal and supports a wide variety of wildlife. Siberian Tigers, Clouded Leopards, Snow Leopards, Haaregradian Brown Bears, Pumas and the Haaregradian Grey Wolf are the main large predators in the north, snow leopards are restricted mainly to the mountains of the far north, pumas and tigers dominate further south and lower in the mountains. Amur Lepards are found even further south, ranging well into the temperate forest. Bears are primarily found to the west and in the forests to the south. The main large herbivores of the north include Wisent(European Bison), Aurochs(otherwise extinct relative of the ox), Wood Bison(although these are not a native species), elk, reindeer, moose and mountain goats. Pikas and arctic hares are also found through out the north. Wolverines and lynx are also found in the north.
Central Haaregrad, Northern Dill Row, Northern Metropolis Industries.
The central region of the CSIR is mostly temperate forest or steppe. Coyotes, wolves, pumas, clouded leopards, foxes, brown bears and the occassional south venturing tiger form the main large predators. Skunks, weasels, badgers, owls, red-tailed hawks, buzzards, golden eagles, squirels, wild boars, deer(including red deer, sikas and white tails) are all common sights in the forests, along with a multitude of other creatures. The steppes are inhabited by pronghorn antelope, bison, jackrabbits, kestrels, prarie dogs and many other creatures, however large tracts of this land has been converted to farm land, reducing the number of large creatures significantly.
Southern Dill Row, Southern Metropolis Industries
The south of Dill Row verges on desert, the south of Metropolis Industries is sub-tropical forest, inbetween is a hotter, drier version of the grasslands described above.
The jungles of Metropolis Industries are home to a rather unexpected large predator, the jaguar. Jaguars in Metropolis Industries are all decended from 120 examples that were freed when ship beached on the shore of Metropolis Industries in the late 1800s. The population now hovers around 400. A variety of monkeys, deer, wild boars, chimpanzees, turkeys, crocodiles and alligators, fruit bats, ocelots, tapirs and pumas inhabit the jungles. Additionally Javan tigers and Bengal tigers are now occassionally seen, mostly these are the result of government breeding programs being too successful and dumping juvenile tigers in the wild, few survived but the offspring resulting from survivors have adapted to these jungles as well.
The deserts of Dill Row mostly resemble the grasslands further north, but far more sparsely inhabited.
