As Helen landed back on the Largentian homeworld just after here trip to Saturn she was quickly rushed to The Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a breifing on her next assignment.

The recent situation concerning Io was explained to her as she had yet to hear of it. They also informed here they needed their best for this job and she was their best. A strict code of conduct was given and she was off in less than an hour.

The shuttle cruised out of the Iron Kingdoms System and into the Sol headed straight for Earth. Soon the pilots had a visual confermation on the Tekhat Scheighu. They had been instructed to move through the Scheighu Cosmodrome.

They soon came to a landing and Helen stepped out onto Earth. It had been a long time since she had seen this planet and she was very glad to be back. There was no ocean on the Largentian homeworld so this would be a rare treat.

She soon linked up with her transport and was off to meet with whichever Tsaraine official it may be.

OOC: Skipping over the moving-through-the-city bit, then ... by the by, the map of Tsaraine is here (http://shade.jonpearse.net/Map.jpg) - Tsaraine proper is entirely landlocked. No ocean. Not to mention that 95% of the cities are underground ... apologies for the size of this, the Mod stuff doesn't leave much brain cells left over.

Offices of the Arkhreifane of the Exterior, Kel Eridhant, Tsaraine

Ksravi Ekina looked up from her cluttered desk - even in this age of virtual reality, cheap energy and high connectivity, the paperless office remained a dream - as an Undercommandant ushered in the Largenti ambassador.

The Arkhreifane of the Exterior stood and gave what might be an abbreviated bow - more an upper-body nod - before extending her hand in the more common gesture of greeting.

"Welcome to Tsaraine, Ambassador," she said politely. "I trust the journey from your home system was not arduous? Please, take a seat."

OOC: I have no problem with short posts. Also, since I'm not sure how you may want to start this meeting off I'll keep things basic for now.

Helen shook her hand and returned the bow. She then seated herself and smiled. "No, my trip was no more arduous than I have been accustomed to in my recent years of working personally with the High Charter, the pinnacle of Largent's government.

"I thank you greatly for taking time to meet with me as I attempt to clean up the mess we seem to have created for ourselves. However, before we formally begin this meeting there is one thing I must ask you. You know at this point what I am here to accomplish where as I don't know of any intentions you may have. I would be very pleased if you would inform me of such goals, if they exist, so that I may try and make this meeting meaningful for both of us."

OOC: Oh dear - I had the same problem! By the way, what's Helen's last name?

"Well," Ksravi replied, "This meeting was requested by your government, esen <Insertlastnamehere>. The Greater Ascendancy is, essentially, simply looking to foster better relations."

OOC: Gogolos is what she frequently goes by.

Helen nods in agreement. "Indeed, we did request the meeting but I thought I might as well ask. Now, during our last meeting it became abundantly clear that you knew nothing about us and that that was a concern of yours so, to begin I may as well give you some breif background information on the Union; Largent is a group of several planets and moons in the Iron Kingdoms System, not too far from the Sol but far enough. In its height the system contained upwards of 20 nations all allies to Largent.

"However, soon these allies of ours either were obliterated by war or their governments all but disappeared. Largent seized the oppourntunity and occupied all but two of the planets which belong to remaining allies.

"Although we went on a conquest we have never engaged in a legitimate war. No Largentian soldier has ever died on foreign soil and we are very happy about that. Our leaders have come to master the art of intimidation which usually works fairly well.

"As for our currnet situation we are working towards some formal alliance or basic frienship with Yut, we have just rapped up our first meeting with Scolopendra and hope to join some cause with them on the international scene soon.

"At the current moment Largent has no enemies to speak of and the only nations it doesn't really like are Arda, but that is more political views and we definatley don't consider them hostile, we just don't always agree with them all the time."

Helen paused for a moment before glancing down quickly at the paper slightly visible in her breifcase. She then continued. "Well madam Ekina, you now know a little about us and I now must ask to know a little about you. What are your nations goals? Who are you involved with? What are your major concerns internationally speaking?" Helen grabbed a peice of paper and prepared to jot down some short notes if necissary.

OOC: Just tell me if you would like Ekina called by a different title.

OOC: "madam" is fine; the Sekhel term is "esen", but it translates to roughly the same thing. That's the feminine; the masculine is "esar".

"The goals of the Greater Ascendancy are quiet little things," Ksravi replied. "We work towards peace and stability in the Border States* and with our allies in the Non-Democratic Alliance. We have recently been pursuing a peaceful colonial expansion throughout the Solar system, with forays into extrasolar areas; the peace of the Solar system is thus also a Tsarainese concern.

"As for alliances, we are a member of the Non-Democratic Alliance, as I have said. With regards to the conflict between the Menelmacari bloc and the Arda region, we attempt if at all possible to stay out of the conflict; although the NDA did at one point go to war against Arda**, and Tsarainese troops were in the Joint Forces at that time, we find neither side particularly well aligned with our ideals. That conflict has been going on for millenia, and will likely continue equally far into the future.

"We are similarly distant to both the Triumvirate of Yut and their largest opposition, the Order of the Seraphim; we mantain cordial relations with the Jovian League.

"Speaking of international concerns ... where possible, we support national sovreignity and what you might term as "human rights". We try to avoid warfare - Tsarainese troops have only once seen combat since the Obsidian Event which destroyed the first Commonwealth, in support of our allies in the Iraqstani civil war.

"Does that help you?"

OOC: *The nations around Tsaraine on the map; they don't exist in RP, but they're there to fill in the gaps, and as a highly developed nation surrounded by third and second-world economies, Tsaraine thoroughly dominates the lot of them.

** This was never actually RPed, as the group of people involved in the war were unable to work cohesively together and it dissolved into argument, but a framework for how it would have gone was worked out. In the end things pretty much remained the same.

OOC: I too was involved in the Ardan "war", that is if we are talking about the same one.

Helen nodded. "It does indeed. It seems that we are interested and concerned in many of the same areas, although the people we are involved with seem drastically different.

"Now that we have a very basic idea about one another we may want to discuss how to better relations with one another. For starters, you stated an interest in extra solar expansion. In fact, Largent has more territory than it needs. If you wish we could share part of one of our many moons. However, I would still like to know if you know of any ways we could better relations. If not, then I suggest that that be what wee devote this meeting to."

"Well, I must say that the opportunity to expand our extrasolar holdings wasn't quite what I had in mind - the colonial budget is somewhat strained as it is, I'm afraid, although I can't tell you why. Operational security, you understand.

"However, if you'd like to establish an embassy in the Ambassadorial Quarter of Scheighu, you would be more than welcome to do that."

OOC: Ack ... brain = very no.

Helen arches her eyebrow slightly but then shrugs it off. "My mistake, I assumed you were interested in such exapnsion but I may have misheard you earlier. As for the embassy, we would very much like to establish one and if you like you may establish an embassy in our capital.

"However, we have failed to come to a conlusion on how to better our relations. I would like to hear your suggestions."

OOC: Eep, sorry! I didn't realise you'd replied. My bad.

Curse the TESEC and their secrecy! Ksravi thought. "I'm afraid not," she explained, "We are doing ... certain things in the extrasolar arena - I'm very sorry I can't tell you more, that it's led to this confusion - but those things mean we don't really have the funds to spend establishing a moonbase in a non-critical area. It's not my field, I'm afraid.

"But yes, I'm sure we could establish an embassy in your capital ... since our FTL systems are limited, it would be largely out of physical contact with Command here on Earth, which might cause some difficulties, but nothing we can't overcome.

"As for bettering our relations, embassies are usually regarded as a start."

Helen listens and soon waves her hand in the air slightly to show her disapproval of extrasolar politics, "It isn't my feild either and thank god for that. It gets too messy too fast.

"Now, if you were to worry about contact with your embassy we could handle that for you. Seeing as we as a nation are spread very far apart we have mastered that art of communications. Since we have recently laid claim to vacant land in the Pacific region we would be happy to route inbound communications to our embassy which will in turn route them to you."

"Now, before this meeting comes to a close I have two questions for you; Firstly, is there anything you would like to know about Largent? Secondly, if we were to regroupe with other nations to reopen discussions towards our presence on Io, would view our presence there as acceptable or inacceptable? If it were to be inacceptable, how might you suggest we work to change that?"

OOC:Nathi, Seeing as our meeting with Tsarain is coming to a close, feel free to begin posting as soon as you want.
