Rugby Union World Cup Moved to Starblaydia
Good Practice for Football's World Cup in a Few Year's Time

Though at relatively short notice, the prevalence of examinations amongst all levels of Austian society have forced the orignial hosts to cede control of the Cup to Starblaydia. We are, of course, more than ready to take up the challenge.

This will be a useful test of Starblaydi facilities and abilities to run a tournament, adding to the experience of two consecutive Footballing 'Baptism of Fire' Cups and the World's Premier Regional Football Championship, the Atlantian Oceania Cup of Association Football. Millions of Credits will again be pumped into the Starblaydi economy as thousands of fans from twenty different nations pour into Starblaydia to cheer on the rucks and mauls.

Bearing in mind how 'changeable' and varied the weather across Starblaydia is, blizzards, rainstorms, sunny days and searing heat are all possible under Starblaydi skies, making sure that no-one really knows what's going to happen in this tournament.

But what are Starblaydia's chances of taking victory on home soil? We assess the Starblaydia XV to see just where our strengths and weaknesses lie.

Front Row:
Dwalin Khuzdul (Prop), Dagnir Tumunzahar (Hooker), Grisk Chugo (Prop)
Surprisingly this is an entirely Dwarven front row and you can be sure they'll be hard and low in the tackles, as long as nobody has the sense to jump over them. Their stocky frames provide a perfect battering ram in the scrum, and once they've got the ball it's hard to get it off them. Tumunzahar is somewhat of a streak thrower, however, his lineouts come in patches of either very good or very bad throws.

Second Row:
Rano Calamari (Lock), Antonius Lucretior (Lock)
These are some very, very big men, both former soldiers. Near-silent Lucretior gets on with the job in a slow, plodding manner, while Calamari is a whirlwind of power and strength.

Back Row:
Melchior (Openside Flanker), Vincenzo Verdi (Blindside Flanker), Septimus Furion (No. 8)
Usually a Number Eight, Melchior is moved to Openside for his sheer presence on the pitch. Faster than he looks, expect him to get among the tries. Verdi, on the other hand, is much smaller and uses his comparative agility to make the breaks. Furion's sheer muscle mass and ferocity is sure to keep the forwards moving.

Halves:
Binky O'Brady (Scrum Half), Magnus Khanasan (Fly-Half)
Strangely enough, O'Brady is half-Halfling, making him rather small and incredibly agile. Quite where 'flings live in Starblaydia is another matter entirely, but we have one represented in our dinky Scrum-Half. Khanasan, on the other hand, is a big, powerful, bearded man, equally at home as a playmaker and a place-kicker. His defensive abilities aren't too hot, though.

Backs:
Rafael Jongbloed (Left Wing), Maximillian Raffiki (Inside Centre), Jools Sturmdrang (Outside Centre), Jaritharak Sinnikar (Right Wing), Cam de la Huerta (Full-Back)
Mostly this set of backs are gifted with innate speed and good hands. The only real power is provided by Sturmdrang, though del la Huerta and Jongbloed are not too shabby in the tackle.

So, a lot of humans, a handful of Dwarves and a half-Halfling. An 'interesting' line-up if ever there was one. Perfect, in fact, to face the assortment of Clones, Mutants, Genetically-bred creatures, Eel-Cat-Things, Trolls and, heaven forbid, regular people.

Starblaydia's Group Schedule:

MD2: Starblaydia Vs Ognivo Expressen Atma
MD3: Ravean Mighty-Fighty Shushbugs Vs Starblaydia

----ABC Sports 1----

"Hello, and welcome to todays Rugby Club. I'm Rick Richards."

"Today fans have been gathering to see off the Austian squad of 28 players and staff to Starblaydia, where this years Rugby World Cup is taking place. As you all know Aust could not host the world cup, due to technical difficultys, exams, and a freak earthquak hitting The Aust City Tigers 100,000 seater stadium. but as none of our players where hurt, here's Gary Birtles and Brian Clough, yes Brian Clough the manging genius who took Aust Tigers to the top of the Austian Premier, to give you there anlysis."

(Clough)"Thanks, Jim, we Ladys and Gentlemen, here's the team;"

1)Kris Commons, 2)James Biggins, 3)John Thompson,
A quite predicatble front row, these players total amount of caps add up to 175, so all have great experiance and have played together for over 7 years now at Aust City Tigers. The hooker, Biggins is a great player and is very likly to steal ball from under the opponts noses. They are all also strong drivers and are likly to be able to meet the oppersitions forwards head on and hold them. However young Commons, though he is a great talent, is still only 25 and is lible to be rash and to try foolish things.

4)Craig Westcarr, 5)Eugen Bopp,
These two are both young talents, both 22 . They both play for Tanka and have been player together since under 10's. So they have great talent. Westcarr is the tall, strong slow one of the pair, and Bopp is the quick, darting one. He will get to rucks quicker than most and has enough power to keep the oppersition off it until Westcarr arrives. There size diffrence does tilt the scrum a bit, but Westcarrs pick and dirves can break through most defences.

6)Gregor Robertson, 7)James Perch

These two flankers are both old, hardy vetrens. Bother are fearce, strong and dtermined to win There pace is tailing off, but there strength, initive and experiance makes up for that.

8)Tom Corkell
The beating heart of the squad, this lad is the captain and his insperational work rate, speeches and motervational skills make his team one of the best prepaed in the world. He is strong, quick and clever, seeing the breaks quickly and getting through them, as soon as he sees them. However due to a unfortunt accendent with a tin of baked beans his hands arn't what they where."

"May i have a comment Brian?"

"No."

9) Chris Howick
"This kid only broke through this year, a raw youth of 16 but already his quick hands, speed, strength, sidestep and tackling has made him into Austs, and Al-haz's number 9. He does try the unexpected a little to often, and he's a poor kicker, but that can be blamed on his inexperiance."

10) Harry Rushmore
"Harry, the wonderkid of Aust, it may seem foolish to have two such young players at scrum-half and fly, but he is certainly the best Aust has. He's had a 98% kicking rate with the Tigers this year, and who will forget his 80 meter try against Bradford Bangers? He's a fearless tackler, has great hands and speed, his physical strength may be lacking, but with skill like that, who cares?

11) Jonny Moore 12) Jason Write
The two centers. Both have good hands and are good tacklers. They have enough experiance to know what to do and they have are rock steady. There defensive attrabutes cannot be oversead. Big, strong and powerful. They arn't too bright though, so don't expect to see them smashing through tackles soon.

13)James Austin 14) Liam Ray
"What a contrast with these two, old Lee Ray and young upstart Austin. Austin will score more trys, but getting past ray is almost immpossable. Ray is quick but not peticually cunning, but his sheer strength will help him through tackles. Austian is the oppersit, young, brash and confident. He can tackle well enough and his Lightning pace, cunning, sidestep will take him past most players. However he does need room to mover, he will scoot past most players on the smallest perice of grass, but he can't break through tackles that easyly."

"As i was his coach for a few years can I..."

"Shut it."

15) Joel Gill
"And finally, gill. The oldest, smallest, and most glamerous player in the sqaud, at 31. He's got a record number of caps since his first at 15, 123, and he will break through any defence and tackle anyone. He reminnds me of that England player...Jason Robinson.

"Well thats it, the Austian squad, I balive that we stand a good chance of making it thorugh to the quaters at least."

"Thanks Brian... and um, Gary, for your thoughts."

Chris looked out of the window of the coach as it drove towards the Austian plane, "THere's so many." He said, astounded, next to him James smiled,

"We get more at the Tigers,"

"Yeah, but at least you can see an end to them, there's no end to these."

The crowd had started singing another verse of Barnical Bill the Sailor...

"Shall we join in?" Chris asked with a smile.

Taylor's Quest For Job Security

Matt Taylor's job has never really been secure, given the somewhat testosterone-induced way he started which led to him being ordered off the pitch in his first match in charge and led an unnamed KRU executive to remark, "We searched high and low for a great coach who could motivate his guys and got a psychotic bottle-throwing maniac."

But with an unbeaten run at the Pinko Rugby Cup and a loss to Nouveau Bretagne in an evenly matched game by a last-minute conversion, he could finally put all the baying hounds at bay with a good performance at the Rugby World Cup.

Kelssek has been drawn in group 3, with Crystilakere, Dark Teutonia, Kaze Progressa, and Vast Principles and will be in action on Matchday 2 with their first game against Crystilakere.

"There won't be any easy games here, all the teams are evenly matched and we'll have to fight for every win." said Taylor when asked about his expectations for the World Cup. "I'm sure we'll do well."

KRU Cup Final hero Paul Jackson's performance against Nouveau Bretagne will likely earn him a place in the starting line-up for the Blue Leafs, while the Firehorses' young star Douglas Weiss has been added to the squad and could earn his first cap for Kelssek.

Joel Danforth will also be in action after he put fans on tenterhooks with his car's unfortunate encounter with a snowstorm and a lamppost near Chevasre Ridge. Doctors have confirmed that the captain escaped without injuries.

"They were worried that I had some tiny fracture in my foot, because it was really swollen, but it's fine now and they said I'm good to go." said Danforth.

Street Face Old Football Foes
Only This Is Rugby

Cockbill Street's first match in the Rugby World Cup in Starblaydia is scheduled to be against Liverpool England - a nation that's knocked the Streetians out of the Football World Cup too many times to count. The sport of rugby in the Street has been rather down for a while - following the last rugby world cup some thirty years ago, the league collapsed two times, and is at the moment just played in the northern cities and among trolls. However, a squad of fifteen has been rounded up, and there are even some rumours that some substitutes are to be called up. The names circulating in Harewood and Chesham at the moment are front-rower Frederic Johansson, fly-half Christian Scully, winger Victor Ubber and scrum-half Ottar Fearinciter.

The game itself promises to be a tight one, with a lot of action going on in tackling, rucking and mauling. With the Street having few fast players, they will be looking to win possession in other ways, and rely heavily on kicked goals from their Chesham fly-half Ivar Axewielder, who scored 18 points in the Northern League match with Harewood Forests.

And no, don't ask how a dwarf can kick a rugby ball the size of his own beard.

Vilita & Turori Rugby Eel Cat Things unveil Logo

--------------Tryouts for the Vilita & Turori Rugby Eel Cat Things touring Rugby squad did not go so well, and to be honest, only like 6 guys showed up so we had to pay people off the street to come in just to make it so it didnt look like a public embarrassment. What was a public embarrassment was our first match, we had Bilbo Baggins at monster-back and needless to say he didnt get the job done. He had this uncanny ability to convery penalties though, maybe once we get some players we can keep him on as coach. In order to help promote the second team tryouts, which will be held in a few hours at the same locations as the last tryouts, the Vilitan & Turori rugby association has unveiled the hot, trendy new logo that will adorn all of the Vilita & Turori Rugby Eel Cat Things apparral for the rest of the competition. The logo was designed by a forward-thinking artist looking to capture the inner-futuristic Vilitan just aching to break out of the every day drab that is sports logos today. IC: AUST LOSES OUT IN THE FIRST ROUND OF RWC 2
"We was robbed" Rants Cloughy
The Austian RUFC team was beaten by Starblaydias vetrens in the first game of RWC 2004.

In a tightly forght enconter, in front of a huge, hostile crowd the Austian team struggled to meet the expations laid upon them by the Austian public.

The match, which was televised by ABC Sports to over 1.5 billion Austian homes, ended at 12-18 to the home side.

Aust started off well, with James Austian crashing over the line for his first score after one of his signiture runs from the halfway line, living a line of bemused dewarfs, men and half-halflings in his wake. Rushmore duly put over the conversion.

Minuates later, a specutive punt from Rushmore inside there own 22 lead to a second Austian try, Cam de la Huerta, was thwarted by the bounce and Howick raced by, catching the ball and scoring under the posts. Unuslally though Rushmore missed the conversion.

Then a long spell of Austian pressure, but the oppersition stayed firm and time and time again stole the ball from under our noses. By halftime Aust had reason to be happy and confident.

But the oppersition had other ideas, they came out a refreshed team and trys followed from Dewarthan lock Dwalin Khuzdul in a pushover try and Half-halfling Binky O'Brady who scotted between Westcarr's legs to score.

Westcarr later said that having a player that size was "Cheating"

In the 60th minuate Aust conceded a penalty on the 22 and the opperition chose to kick for goal. The ball sailed between the posts and Starblaydia was in the lead.

Rushmore had a chance to even the scores but missed the penilty, and on 70 minuates Starblaydia fly-half Magnus Khanasan scored with a drop goal.

More reaction later.

Vilita & Turori RA Challenge to Uniform Designers

--------------After the Vilitan & Turori rugby association unveiled the hot, trendy new logo that will adorn all of the Vilita & Turori Rugby Eel Cat Things apparral for the rest of the competition, they realized they needed something to put it on. Therefore, the Vilita & Turori Rugby Association has challenged uniformed designers around the globe to design a kit set that will accent the newly created, hot logo. Already in the running are Lonngeylin based 3wide Designs, however, Vilita & Turori are quoted in saying "This logo is just too good to have one opinion on. 3wide has done great for the other sports teams in the area in recent years, but we felt that with something like this on our plates, it just may be too hot for 3wide to handle. Maybe some other designer somewhere in the world will be able to do a better job. We aren't saying 3wide won't, we are just saying we'd like to have more than one option."

--------------All submissions should be sent to either Vilita or Turori, or the private underground submission point (VilitaAndTuroriEelCatThings@3wide.com), or simply publicized in the Vilita National or some other major courrieriariaraaoloaia.

O'Brady accused of Vertically Cheating by Lock
Promises to not run through player's legs as long as they don't "pick me up by the legs, swing me round their head and throw me off the pitch" anymore

Controversey has erupted around the inclusion of Half-'Fling Binky O'Brady in the Starblaydi side as Austian #4 Craig Westcarr said it was 'cheating to have a player that size'. This comment was provoked after O'Brady dived under the Lock's legs for Starblaydia's second try.

"Scrum-Halves are meant to be small and agile," he said afterwards, "we don't put a limit on how big those ruddy great Locks can be. The 'Street even use Trolls, for Bilbo's sake."

Players are always told to 'keep their centre of gravity low' when being tackled, but diving through a player's legs and sliding in for the touchdown is a bit much. It capped a great Starblaydi comeback as they turned a 12-0 deficit at half-time into an 18-21 victory at the end of the eighty minutes.

Though Starblaydia's tackling was expected to be top-of-the-line, James Austian broke three tackles and outpaced two more, sending de la Heurta for an outrageous dummy and scoring under the posts for a simple Rushmore conversion and 7-0. Rushmore and de la Huerta were involved again as his kick completely fooled young Cam, allowing Scrum-Half Chris Howick to nip in, steal the ball and score out wide. Unfortunately for Rushmore, the angle was a little tight and his Conversion attempt sailed past the right-hand post. 12-0 and by half-time, and Starblaydia's defence was reeling, though still coming up with the ball at Austian turnovers, as they failed to recycle it often enough.

For the second half, Starblaydia got their scrum going and used a powerful rolling maul to shove deep into the Austian 22. A few phases later and Starblaydia had the men into position to try another one. Giving the ball to Prop Khuzdul, Starblaydia shoved for all they were worth, driving the Aust RFC team back step by step. Over the line they went and Dwalin dropped to his knees for Starblaydia's first try of the Championship. And their first try ever, but that's beside the point. Khanasan, however, missed his first Conversion attempt.

Then came the piece of controversy. As Jason Write sped broke through a Starblaydi tackle, he passed out wide to the onrushing right-wing. Rafael Jongbloed intercepted the ball and charged sixty metres for the try line. Though he was brought down, Starblaydia managed to get support up to him and recycle the ball. Eventually it came back to Binky O'Brady, just two metres from the line. Faced by the huge figure of Craig Westcarr, you would have expected him to try and sidestep or pass, but Binky went straight for Westcarr. Probably expecting to see the Half-'Fling bounce off him, Westcarr braced himself for a stand-up tackle that never came. O'Brady dived between his legs and sheer momentum took him over the line for Starblaydia's second try. Under the posts, Khanasan had a simple conversion to tie the game.

With twenty minutes to go, John Thompson failed to roll away from his tackle and the referee gave Starblaydia a penalty, right on the edge of the 22. Though the crowd urged Starblaydia to push forward for a lineout, dominate the possession and go over for another try, they decided to kick for goal. Magnus Khanasan promptly slotted the ball between the sticks to give Starblaydia a three-point lead. Ten minutes later, after Rushmore had missed a penalty of his own, Khanasan extended Starblaydia's lead with a drop-goal in the face of a tough Austian forward line.

Though it was still a one-score match, and Aust could have won with a converted try, Starblaydia's defence held firm and prevented them coming back into the game, giving Starblaydia a six-point victory in their first match.

Coach Clive Woodwin: "Fair Play."
Austian coach, Clive Woodwin, has lashed out at alligations of 'cheating' from his lock Craig Westcarr.

"I hate to say it, but we knew about him bofore the game, and we knwew this could happen. Unfortuntly, craig was a little unprepared for the guy and missed the tackle. Fair play to them."

"The comment was made just after the match when we where all a bit down, and I've told him to do it again."

"We should have won the match, we had enough pressure, Harry missed 2 kicks, that not like him, and we should have converted the pressure into points. We can be camped on there tryline for ages, but we won't win if we don't score."

The hive's first match was easy - too easy - what was wrong with these humans they were supposed to be good - the hive had run rings around them until the opposition had resorted to cheating causing 2 penalties. A 12' tall carnifex in the croud had to be stopped from rampaging in anger at the actions, it charged towards the feild smashing the stand appart and squashing 2 of the local security officers the avatar who was acting coach for the team however stopped the massive beast single handed before having it escourted from the stadium. Rumers are that it will become one of the teams substitute players should an injury occur.

Inquisitor Johnson Restrained as Mistakes Cost the Church Dear

Coach Wolfric and several members of the Dark Teutonian Security forces Had to hold back the captain of the Dark Teutonian Rugby team today after thier late loss against the Kaze Progressa,
Despite taking an Early lead as the Fullback Brother Robinson broke from his own half to score the Dark Teutonian Team was Constantly pegged back by excesive penaltys from what could only be described as poor posistion play by the match officials whom issed a string of offences in the scrum by the Progressian Forwards and instead chose to penalise the Holy churches overpowering of the Progressian pack.
After Several of the progresian players fell out the Scrums dazed for no apparent reason he decided it must of been the Dark Teutonians pack who had caused the injurys and whilst the argument raged the progressians took full advantaged and quickly moved the ball scoring almost unopposed.
With both halfbacks Swapping penalties the game was locked 8-8 at half time.

In the second half Teams swapped possesion and punches for the first 20 minutes before Inquisitor Johnson took matters into his own hands and when kicked whilst on the floor stood up and exacted revenge on the progressian player and was sin binned for 10 minutes.
During his Absence the progressians took full advantage of the extra man and scored in the corner missing the difficult conversion.
With Johnson now returned to the field the Dark Teutonian pack dominated possesion and was rewarded as inquisitor Johnson made amends for his sin binning and powered his was over from 20 yards out.
Wilkinson not having his usual strong kicking game missed a kickable conversion to leave the score 13-8.
A well placed 10 yard kick from the kick off from the progressians saw them retain possesion and after several periods of play levelled the scores with another try under the posts somehow the progressian kicker mange to miss a straight forward conversion attempt leaving the scores locked at 13-13
As the Game entered the last minute of play a mass brawl broke out as the Dark teutonian hooker moore dropped to the floor after been kicked in the face and was carried off for stitches Johnson, Dellagio and Vickery along with Tindal sought Holy Retribution for his injuries Leaving several of the progresssian pack with injuries as seemingly the whistle was blown for full time,
The fighting having stopped the progressian coach pointed out to his players the whistle had come from the crowd and behind the referees back and Catching the Dark Teutonian pack unawares and raced from thier own 22 to score in the corner only Brother Robinson and his lightning pace stopped them running under the posts,
With confusion Reigning the referee unsure of what to do awarded the try and as the argument heated up blew the whistle to end the game and was escorted off the pitch by local security forces.

The Dark Teutonain coach after calming down his captain had only this to say.

If that is the standard of officials in this tornament we will have no choice but to leave the next team to meet us unable to take advantage of such poor decisons,

The dark teutonian team was told to remain on the pitch by the coach who told them the loss was unaceptable and as punishment thier next training session would start now.

Dark Teutonia
06-01-2005, 09:06
Following thier shock loss in thier first group match the Dark Teutonian coaching staff spent most of the morning asessing the match and testing the players reactions and balls skills,
HalfBack Redemptor wilkinson spent several hours having his kicking movement and stance checked by his personal coaches and computer aided devices, at one stage his kicking leg looked more like a scene from a sci-fi movies as each movement was recorded by the computer and the coaches think they found the problem with his kicking at goal after helping him readjust his stance they had him kicking goal from all areas of the pitch only missing one as they seem to have found his kicking touch once again.

The entire Back line is run through it paces by fielding high kicks and thier passing and tackling is tightened up The coaches are scaything at thier work but it looks flawless.

The pack is read the Riot Act by the Head coach who fires them up with passages from the Dark teutonian bible reminding them off the mistakes that cost them the first match a fiery determination is shown in thier eyes and they practice scrumaging and lineout ball the pushes almost breaking the scrumaging machine and thier line out jumps make a mockery of thier size with the sheer height they can jump.

The entire squad is brought together as the session finishes with the battle cry of the Dark Teutonian Church.

There is no Guidance: There is Control.
There is no Weakness: There is Strength.
There is no End: There is Eternity.
There is no Defeat: There is Glory.

Ognivo Expressen Atma Shut Out 33-0
Too much power from Lovisans as Starblaydia rack up the Penalties

Lovisa have always been famous for produced strong, powerful athletes. Take the Olympics, for instance, where Lovisa excelled in the strength-based events such as Rowing and Weightlifting. Rugby Union should therefore be just the type of game for the Ognivo Expressen Atma team. Starblaydia, however, proved to have more than enough finesse to counter the force of the Lovisan running game.

Magnus Khanasan had the oppurtunity to raise his points tally to 26 in two matches, thanks to an 80% rate of Penalty Kicks. Five times Khanasan attempted to get three points from foul play, and four times he was successful. High tackles, going over the top, coming in from the side, Lovisa were at it everywhere. As it was, Melchior opened the scoring as a classy off-load from Furion left him past the line of defence and over for the first try, which Khanasan duly converted.

It was the Centres who prised open Ognivo next as Sturmdrang's running drew two tacklers, allowing a huge gap for Maximillian Raffiki to run in and score the second, again dispatched by Khanasan. Finally it was a quickly-taken tap-penalty by O'Brady for the third try. His quick-thinking outfoxed the Lovisan defence and he placed the ball sweetly under the posts. Khanasan ended the game with a 87.5% ratio from all place-kicks, and scoring 18 points, his best figures yet.

Unfortunately for the team from Lovisa, this leaves them without having scored even a single point so far in the Tournament. Starblaydia, however, have broken the 50-point barrier.

Rushmore puts shine on Rampage.

It was never going to be a close game. The highly trained, motivated and professinal Austian team on its day can beat anyone and so it proved.

The huge arena in Starblaydia was full of baying Austian fans, and the small contingent of Shushbus where outsung. Even as the national anthems where played, you could litrally see the Austian players shaking with anticipation.

The Austians started off with a drop-goal from Rushmore, who had his best game so far, taking advantage of a early knock on by the oppersition, Austs powerful scrum gained ground before a prefect pass from Howick landed in Rushmroes hands. He didn't even look up, and a second later it was 3-0.

The Oppersition forght back, a uncaritarisic handling error from Bopp lead to a scrum and a reurn drop goal. The scores where level.

But that was to be the Ravean Mighty-Fighty Shushbugs only score of the match. The Austians forght back, with two more drop goals and 3 peniltys all converted by Rushmore. By half time it was 18- 3 to the Austians. But it was after halftime the slaughter began.

First Joel Gill crashed over for a try, the tiny Full back too a hurryed oppersition clearence, caught in on the run, bemused there entire forards pack and then dummied a center before sidestepping the Oppersition fullback to score.

Rushmore concverted and after that the only way the oppersition got into the Austian half was through kicking. Rushmore scored the next, miming a grubber kick he sent his oppersit number the wrong was, passed inside to Write who returned it after drawing the fullback.

Again he converted. Next he scored again, Austin took the ball on the halfwayline, beat most of the oppersition team until the fullback dragged him down, all that was left was a pick up and put down for Rushmore under the posts.

As time went on the pofessinallism of the Austians showed through. There superior fitness meant they could break through the oppersitions lines at ease, and they did so. Austin took clearence, beat both centers and the wing, beat the full back then, in a outragious form of showman ship, let them get back in front of him and beat them again to touch down under the posts.

But Rushmore was not going to let Austin have the final word. Taking the ball from the lineout as the last play hooter sounded, he brok through two tackles and dived to score in the corner. Again he converted.

Austian scorers:

Rushmore (3 trys, 5 conversions, 3 drop goals, 3 penitltys. 43 points)
Austin (1 try, 5 points)
Gill (1 try, 5 points.)

Rugby Players Lose To HIIRAAN??!?!

Yes. Pesky Hiiraan, those guys who're always bragging about how they're supposed to win the next match, then luckily they fail horribly. Guess what? They beat the Streetian rugby team 17-11 in the rugby world cup, ruining the good work that had been put in against Liverpool England when the team won 28-23.

With many favourites winning on the second day, Cockbill Steret thought scoring a couple of tries would be easy - instead, the Streetian game relied on getting penalties and kicking chances - which they then managed to squander. Fly-half Ivar Axewielder had a terrible day after yestergame's 13 points - he missed one conversion, three penalties and one drop goal, ending up with a meagre six. Meanwhile, the Hiiranian defence worked well enough, though it was disorganised - they set the tackles and just waited for Axewielder to miss the penalty. With the Streeters sleeping through some of the more important stages of the game, Hiiraan were allowed to run in for two tries just before half-time, converting both and sending the Streeters back into a crunch fight for the group. With East Lithuania and Hiiraan currently unbeaten, the Street face a tough charge on Monday as they face the East Lithuanians - who won their first game thanks to fly-half Davis, who converted four penalties and three drop goals to give them an improbable 21-13 win over Esth.

When asked about their loss and if they would ever get any better, the Shushbugs replied, "Rugby Isn't a game of skill-It's a game of Heart. The Heart of the Ball. The phrase "Heart of the Ball" Makes one wonder if the Shushbugs really ever listen to themselves when they talk.

Vilita & Turori Rugby Eel Cat Things : Drop Goal Experts

--------------Well, one person finally showed up to the Vilita & Turori Rugby Eel Cat Things tryouts. The players name was Alexander Kramp-Salecker and he was one hell of a drop goal scorer. The Vilita & Turori Eel Cat Things suck at making tries and have only made one conversion all season, but when it comes to Penalties and Drop Goals, Alexander Kramp-Salecker leads the way. Kramp-Salecker scored one drop goal and two penalties in the incredibly boring 9-8 victory over Montiniac. Vilita & Turori did not even come close once to scoring a try, and obviously didnt even get a chance for a conversion (as They've overheard conversation that they are related, so they decided they wouldnt convert nothing.

--------------While the Vilita & Turori Eel Cat Things may not be leading the categories of Penalties and Drop Goals, they do boast the worst goal differential of any team currently in the qualification zone. Vilita & Turori currently sit second behind FesCo in the Group D table, with a -8 Point Differential. While Teams such as Group A sit with Point Differentials of 60 and 64 in the qualification zone, Vilita & Turori are on the inside looking up, not only at the teams ahead of them, but at most of the teams behind them, also with superior point differentials.

--------------The Vilita & Turori Rugby Association is now taking pre-orders for Official Merchandise adorning this hot-new logo and are expecting sales to increase much in the way that South Carolina Game Cock clothing increased by shortening the term "Gamecocks" to "Cocks". This is the new "Cocks" folks. Pre-Order your Vilita & Turori Eel Cat Things merchandise today!

Jackson's Three Beats Vast Principles
Kelssek 15 Vast Principles 13

STARBLAYDIA - The Blue Leafs made it two for two on Matchday 3 of the Rugby World Cup as Paul Jackson's three drop goals were enough to beat Vast Principles 15-13 in a close game.

Despite putting up a valiant effort, Kelssek's attack was not enough to get through the defending of the VP team, though they nearly broke through just before half time as Stephane Fournier was tackled one agonising meter from the try line and quickly swamped by the VP defence.

"I just tried to go in as hard and fast as I could and I reached out, hoping I was at the try line, but I went down and the ball was gone before I knew it." said Fournier.

Leading 15-6 with 15 minutes to go, Vast Principles scored and converted a try, setting the stage for a nailbiting conclusion which saw excellent defensive efforts by Wilson Tackard save the day as VP came perilously close to the try line and a crucial grab by Julian Smythe off a line-out in the last minute ensured the win.

Coach Matt Taylor was pleased with the result. "We've been playing well and we've been working hard, and I think that's working out great for us. I think we got a bit lucky with some of the calls but it went both ways too, and we managed to come out on top."

Taylor also praised Jackson's efforts, "He's been phenomenal out there, he's got a great kick, and he's just been on fire. If he keeps it up there's no stopping that guy from the hall of fame, at least."

The win, together with the 24-16 victory over Crystilakere on Matchday 2, puts Kelssek on top of Group 3 with 8 points and in a good position to progess to the next round. They will face Kaze Progressa next on Matchday 4.

Aust wins again
Team triumpfant as the ball keeps on rolling

It was always going to be a hard game, faced with genestealers and vast 'nid creatures. However Aust proved that they could beat anyone, no matter how many arms they have. As Westcarr said later "I don't care how many arms they have, they can't run without thre legs, no matter how many legs they have."

Rushmore again proved kicking abilty, his 5/5 kicks and 1 try, has given him more than ahlfs Aust points. It's turning into a dream tornment for the lad.

He scored after 5 minuates, running on to him own grubber kick and diving under the posts.

The oppersition hit back with 2 trys of there own, and two converions. Yet Rushmore clawed Austback with 3 peniltys, and in the dying seconds Austin scored his third try of the tornmentwith a breaking away from defence.

Instead of playing a kicking game Aust kept it in the hands. With the final hooter about to go. Austin took the ball from the base of the scrum, avoided the several arms of the scum half and accelerated away. He beat the flailing fullback and scored under the posts,

Final score;

As the fans of the East Lithuanian Sea Dragons still continue to think about last nights game, they further wonder if there is a chance they can even get back into the top 2. After losing to Cockbill Street, they fell back to 3rd place. Not that bad, yet they are no longer in the Top qualifieing 2 they were in before. They hope to get there act together for their next game. They just hope they don't fall further behind.

After facing the wrath of their coach after ill Discipline cost them their first match the Dark Teutonian team powered its way past the Crystilakere Team.

Man of the match was Dark Teutonias Fly Half Redemptor Wilkinson whos place kicking was faultless and the few chances at goal was place with an accuracy the Dark Teutonian Air Force would of been proud of as he slotted over both his chances in the windy conditions during the match.

With the windy weather forcing the ground game to dominate The Dark Teutonian pack dominated the game from beginning to end,
Hooker Moore kept his opposite number Riccardo Vecchi anonymous as he allowed him no space to play closing him down at every oppotunity.
Bezwidenhout and Vickery towered at the front of the scrum seemingly considering giving an inch a sin as they held firm never relenting in the scrum making Brother gregans job of putting into the scrum a formality.
Backed up by Dallagio, Kay and their Captain johnson backing them up with crunching tackles making an unbreachable wall against the Crystilakere attacks as Wilkinson pushed them back time and time again with his place kicking.
Praise for the Teutonian backs will be sung loud well after this competition finsihes as they launched wave after wave of attacks and backing up the forwards with tackling that belied thier posistion.
The Scoring was opened after a earth shattering tackle by flanker Tindall drove back Gallo over 10 yards with his tackle leaving his opposite number stunned on the floor as he stripped him of the ball backed up by the teutonian pack the drive was relentless as the forwards ground every yard out before it was switched wide to Fullback Robinson who broke through and took the Fullbacks tackle as he laid off the ball for lomu who despite Having several tacklers hanging onto him strode over the line tacklers and all to score the try to break the dead lock.
Wilkinson despite the swirling wind kicked the conversion 10 yards in to send the score to 0-7 at halftime.
The crowd was treated to one of the most bruising 2nd halfs ever witness in the second half as neither team refused to budge and tackle crunched as both packs went to war all attacks was repelled by both sides and dispite the lack of scoring chances the crowd on both side was roaring in approval.
After a high tackle by Spagatti who was lucky to remain on the pitch wilkinson calmly slotted over the resulting penalty from 40 yards in between the sticks to make the score 0-10 to Dark Teutonia.
With the game now safely in the bag the Dark teutonian team calmly ran out the clock for the last 10 minutes.
As the final whistle blew the Dark teutonian fans went wild saluting thier heroes with a rendition of the Teutonian National anthem.

The Team stood celebrating but not leaving the field looking instead to the calm demenor of thier coach who after a few seconds nodded and left the pitch the players following him in relief.

Backs and Forwards in Perfect Harmony
Grind the Shushbugs down, then run rings around them

With three wins from three, Starblaydia have the perfect record going into their last match of the group stage. It is likely now that they will qualify from this group, though they can be edged out of the top two places by a dominant Aust RFC side and two big wins from the Imodian Royal Guard. If Starblaydia can avoid defeat against the Imodians they will advance to the Quarter-finals

A 43-21 win was the reward for an entire team playing a hard, fast, fluid game on both attack and defence. In the first half it was the forwards who dominated, charging into tackles like there was no tomorrow. A fast counter-attack started by Dwalin Khuzdul ended with Septimus Furion charging over the line out wide. Magnus Khanasan converted the first of his four conversions. It was Khanasan's own chip-and-charge that gave Starblaydia a second seven points, a cruel bounce deceiving the Ravean Full-Back, allowing Khanasan to kick the ball on and dive on it over the line. He converted his own try moments later.

The Mighty-Fighty Shushbugs started to get back into the game with an unconverted try, but a Khanasan penalty and an O'Brady drop-goal kept Starblaydia in the lead. Though Ravea scored and converted a try in the opening minutes of the second-half, they seemed spent, as Starblaydia's backs took control of the game. Two glorious tries from Rafael Jongbloed and Cam de la Huerta gave Starblaydia an easy win, and Maximillian Raffiki scored with a drop-goal too, just for the fun of it, as Starblaydia cruised to victory.

Coach Wolfric Coach Woodwin is an experienced coach and im surprised at his statement all i have to say is i agree one of them will get to the final but i suspect we will beat the other on they way to the final and ultimately the cup itself, they are good teams but only good this is a great team one destined to rewrite the record books they are getting stronger and better each match....

Fred Dunn- Teutonia Daily do you think the performance of Redemptor Wilkinson today proved the match winner and catapulted him to stardom ??

Coach Wolfric Redemptor wilkinsons performance was much improved but it was the team that won this match each man sweated blood and tears trusting in thier faith to drive the enemy off there is no stars in this team the enitre team is the performer and the star of the tournament..next

Lucy Pinder sports illustrated- Is there any injuries to report after the match?

Hell froze over.

The sound of Pigs getting slaughtered rang through the lands far and wide.

Ravea had won a sports match.

Wes Kirberger took Ravea to the top in this game. His fluid, almost waterlike attacks combined with whats seemed like a brick wall of a defense(Okay, mabey a few cracks) allowed the Shushbugs-and Ravea for that matter-to defeat an opponent for the very first time. It seemed like the Shushbugs finally found the 'Heart of the Ball.'

The response at home was incredible. Seeing as how Ravea has never won any kind of sports match of any kind, The entire country-with more than two billion citizens-shut down to celebrate. The Mighty-Fighty Shushbugs were all declared national heroes and huge statues in thier likeness have been set up all around the country.

Today is a good day to be a Shushbug!

Group Two Deadlock
East Lithuania Does CS Small Favour?

After yesterday's 20-7 demolition of East Lithuania, led by two tries from Alan O'Gonnagal and Ivar Axewielder's 10 kicked points, the Street's chances of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Rugby Union World Cup increased greatly. With their loss at Hiiraan, things weren't looking good, but with the scrum fixed well enough and East Lithuania's fly-half Davis being vaccinated against kicking penalties - missing three in the strong gusts of wind. With the attacking play working well enough to scoring a couple of tries. The Street were off in today's round, while Liverpool England, the group leaders, faced off with East Lithuania. In an intriguingly poised match, East Lithuania came up four points better on the day, winning a key game and leaving the group deadlocked, three teams fighting for the two quarter-final spots after Hiiraan fell 5-14 to Esth's try-scoring machine.

In theory, every team can go through, but only Cockbill Street and East Lithuania control their own fates. They will both qualify with a draw (not that that often happens in rugby...) or a win, and with a loss, they're almost guaranteed an early exit. Group two is probably the most interestingly poised in this rugby world cup, with all the other groups having at least one team already qualified (Starblaydia, the hosts, incidentally notching up 4 victories and 117 points...coincidence?)

The Fans was blown away to day as the two teams went for an attack orientated display,
Teutonia made several changes to the team that beat Crystilakere with Tindall, Vickery and Mortlock been rested with Greenwood, Leonard and Rokocoko coming in to replace them.
Possession was at a Premium as the match started with Wilkinson slotting over an early Drop goal to put Dark Teutonia 3-0 up but this soon changed as the principal team levelled the scores with a penalty kick and a drop goal in reply to take Vast principles 6-3 up 20 minutes into the match.
But this only inspired the Teutonian forwards began to dominate possession as they drove deep into the Principles half resulting in the captain Johnson going over the line in a push over, Redemptor Wilkinson added the conversion to take Teutonia into a 10-6 lead, This was quickly followed by another piece of dazzling footwork as brother Robinson took a high kick in his own half and danced around several defenders and sprinting clear avoiding the fullbacks despairing dive to score in the corner Wilkinson kicking was slightly off target as his kick hit the upright and then the crossbar before rolling over the wrong side taking the score to Dark Teutonia 15 Vast Principle 6.
As the half drew to a close both teams kept it tight and the score remained 15-6 in Dark Teutonias favour.
The Second half kicked off in the same vein as the first with the Dark Teutonian pack showing its dominance allowing Wilkinson to take an inside pass from Moore to stroll under the posts almost unopposed he then added the simple conversion and daylight began to show between the two teams scores and Dark Teutonia now lead 22-6.
Shortly afterwards the lead was extended further as Dark Teutonia was awarded a penalty after hands was used on the floor and Wilkinson accepted the opportunity to place the ball between the uprights and extend the score to 25-6, Wilkinson boosted by the success took the score out of Principles reach with 2 cheekily taken drop goals extending personal tally in the game to 21 points an giving dark Teutonia a 25 point cushion in the game.
But it seems vast principles had some pride to play for and after good forward play switched the ball out wide and scored in the corner which was skilfully converted to make the score Dark Teutonia 31 Vast principles 13,
Insulted by conceding the try the Teutonian Juggernaut rumbled back in reply as Brother Robinson scored his second try of the match under the posts after a Greenwood Break, Wilkinson calmly added the conversion extending the score to 38-13 in Teutonias favour.
Further tries from Lomu and Robinson again to complete his hat trick took the game out of Vast Principles Hands along with a conversion from Wilkinson took the games out of vast principles hands but they had the consolation of an injury time try to take the final score to Dark Teutonia 50 Vast Principles 18

Blue Leafs Through From Three With Three

STARBLAYDIA - Kelssek secured its place in the quarter-finals of the Rugby World Cup with a 19-10 win over Kaze Progressa giving the Blue Leafs their third straight victory and guarenteeing qualification from Group 3.

Once again Paul Jackson's kicking was instrumental, putting two between the posts and converting a try for 8 points on the night. The fly half now has scored 38 points after just four caps for Kelssek.

Kaze Progressa broke through early with a try after 4 minutes after some shaky defending left the Leafs vulnerable to an overload attack. Jackson responded with a spectacular drop goal from 41 meters out just two minutes later and the defence held firm for the rest of the game.

Michael Wainwright got Kelssek's only try for the night, duly converted by Jackson, after Joel Danforth barreled through the Kaze Progressa defence, leaving diving Kaze defenders in his wake as he evaded five tackles before finding Wainwright on the left wing.

At the post-game press conference, coach Matt Taylor simply laughed when asked for comment on Jackson's performance.

"What do you want me to say? I think I've already used up every adjective I can think of. Okay, wow. How's that?"

Jackson himself didn't say very much before disappearing into the locker room.

"It's great for me to be doing what I love and I'm the luckiest guy alive. I'm enjoying myself, yeah."

However, there were worries as star hooker Stephane Fournier was stretchered off the pitch at 33 minutes with what appears to be a hamstring injury, although none of the team officials would comment on it.

Kelssek now faces a tough match with Dark Teutonia to end off the group stage which could determine first place in the group if the Blue Leafs lose.

Good Evening Citizens of Teutonia, It is my pleasure indeed an honour to have with me tonight the coach of Dark Teutonias Rugby Team Wolfric along with the captain Inquisitor Johnson and Fly half Redemptor Wilkinson,

Jim Boss-Welcome to the Teutonian sports desk gentlemen, So after your demolition of the Vast principles rugby team how do you think your chances of reaching the final have improved?

Coach Wolfric-Well Jim I’m sure the entire world has seen the true side of Teutonias holy might as our team has turned an unfortunate turn of events with poor refereeing in our first game into two powerful performances in the last two matches to overwhelm our opponents and if our plans come to fruition we will soon hold the trophy aloft in the final.

Jim Boss-Powerful Words coach powerful words indeed so Inquisitor Johnson you are the captain of this magnificent team how do you rate your recent performance so far?

Johnson-Well Mr Ross you,ve all seen with your own eyes the pure destructive power of my pack and the lightning pace and skilful handling of my backs I know on our day no-one can live with us every game we get better and better and with Redemptor Wilkinson’s Kicking now if full effect do you really think anyone stands a chance it is the lords will and we will not accept defeat …ever..

Wilkinson-thank you but my kicking is just part of the team we are all pulling together as one and I’m proud to be part of such a team, my job would be impossible without the likes of Vickery, Robinson Lomu and all the others who give me the time to use my skills I have never played for a team as dominating as this and standing next to Inquisitor Johnson outside on that pitch we all feel like giants.

Jim Boss-I’m sure the church and the people of Dark Teutonia are all behind you I know we have been mesmerised by your performances and also the sisters of Redemptions stirring Battlecrys before the match have had us all leaping from our seats I look forward to seeing the next match gentlemen Dark Teutonia Salutes you.

The National Anthem begins to play as all four men stand hand clenched on their chests saluting their great nation.

"Who is he, Tom?"

"Oh well, who gives a crap! There's no big votes or anything coming up, rugby's what I gotta be watching right now. Yeah! Fact is a whole bunch of us are up here."

"Really? That's amazing, eh. How do you like Starblaydia? Gonna put up some diplomatic stuff and all that?"

"Well it's a great place, all the fans, it's a great atmosphere, I'm loving what I'm seeing, and we're winning! So it's great, it's lovely, just hard to get a beer though. It's crowded like anything and all the bars and pubs are just hopping with people."

"Well you got my vote next election, mate, go enjoy yourself there and go Kelssek!"

"Yeah!"

"Back to you Liam!"

*the studio audience is cheering*

"Tom in Starblaydia, folks, we gotta take a break, we'll be right back."

The man mountain himself rarely do winger grow this big, powerful fast and enjoys running over people as he attacks defensive lines superb try scoring record rarely off the score sheet

10 Redemptor Wilkinson
The man with the boots of our lord wether place kicking or aiming for the uprights he rarely misses a game winner in every sense tackles fearlessly.

09 Brother Gregan
superb Ball handling skills his darting runs and strength make him a dangerous player to stop always in the thick of the action driving the players around him onwards.

08 Zealot Dallagio
Alongside Johnson and Kay he is one of the giants of the pack free running style back by his strength and ball handling skills make this man one to be feared when the battle cry is sounded he’ll be among the first to rally to the cause.

07 Brother Hill
A powerhouse flanker whose enjoyment in life is running over wingers and centers alike driving them like a pile driver into the turf not one to cross

06 Inquisitor Smith
If Hill is the powerhouse of the flankers then smith is the enforcer hard in the tackle strong running style back up by his smooth ball skills.

05 Zealot Kay
Tall powerful runner and carrier of the ball happy to tackle players in to the ground or drive the ball forward to set it up for the team solid in the 2nd row alongside Johnson probably the worlds largest second row.

01 Zealot Bezwidenhout
What can be said about this man the modern forward aggressive strong and fearless can always be counted on to do his job and happy to enforce the law within the scrum for those who step out of line.

Just looking at the numbers the Teutonian pack is massive but very mobile and one that runs all day few packs will be able to cope with their presence.
As you look along the back line the pace and skillful foot work and superb ball handling skills is really beginning to show the rest how its done once these guys start firing its game over.
Well Folks im sure you will agree win lose or draw this is the future of rugby ..

As thier Captain would say.

Johnson chapter 12:1

There is no Guidance: There is Control.
There is no Weakness: There is Strength.
There is no End: There is Eternity.
There is no Defeat: There is Glory.

A powerful message indeed...for the glory of Teutonia!

Aust look like there through
After yesterdays results it looks like Aust ae through, with only Ognivo Exp At still to face the Austian team know that they need 1 point to get through.

It would take a monumental effort by Imodian Ryl Gd and Ravean M-F Sbs to catch Aust, both needing to win by 50 points at least.

It other news it looks like Aust will be facing FesCo in the quater finals.

Coach Woodwin has scoffed upon claims by the Dark Teutonia team that they are 'The team to beat' "We'll beat them when they come to it. It will take more than some mad, cloned zealot to scare me. After all, there still not through. And it looks like gods not doing much for them."

This is the latest slavo in what is quickly emerging as a 'war of words' between the two teams, Woodwin earlyer said that they where 'not a threat'.

Rugby Eel Cat Things Await in Quarter-Finals

Though it took a not-quite last-minute Drop Goal from Maximilian Raffiki, Starblaydia just managed to get themselves a 100% record in Group 1 as they beat the Imodian Royal Guard 23-21. Tries from Tumunzahar, Khanasan and a brace from Jools Sturmdrang gave Starblaydia 20 points, though Khanasan's kicking was way, way off on a windy day in Starblaydia. Luckily, the Imodians' kicking was also poor, as they failed to convert any of their three tries, though they did manage two penalties from wide positions. More by luck than judgement, we think.

Still, Starblaydia sit atop Group 1, the only other team with a 100% record being FesCo. Now Starblaydia face the old enemy: Vilita. And Turori. For once this looks to be a match against them that we can geninuely win by miles. Is it because it's taking place in Starblaydia? Quite blatantly not. It's because we've put more effort into developing our grass-roots Rugger-game, while they're still worrying about their kit and symbol designs, over there in Vilita. See, you even get spelling and grammar lessons from Starblaydi journalists, don't say we just write sporting nonsense.

Street Run Over Esth
Take Group Title And Quarter-Final Spot With Kelssek

Martin Woodsworth was the hero as Cockbill Street ran over Esth in the final group match of the rugby union World Cup in Starblaydia. The Cockbill Street team and fans (the few that were there) were hoping for a good result in the region of a ten-point win, but nothing could stop the back line of the Streeters as they ran in for try after try. The Esthian defence was particularly weak on the sides, resulting in many conversion kicks being missed by Ivar Axewielder, but he made up for it with beautiful spot-kicking with five penalties. Cockbill Street were the only team on the day to score six tries - with Woodsworth netting a hat-trick as he was twice over in the first ten minutes, wresting the match out of the Esthians' grasp. The rest of the match was a walk, despite some Esthian penalties being awarded around the half-time stretch.

In the second half, things got even worse for Esth, as Seecham ran in a try under the posts and Axewielder made an easy conversion - followed by another from O'Gonnagal, one from Woodsworth completing his hat-trick, and finally Ivar Axewielder ran 40 yards through all 15 Esthians in a suicidal charge that gave him a try - and two more points for the conversion. The final scoreline was 49-9, with six tries and five penalties being rammed down the throat of Esth.

After the match, it was clear that the Streetians would face Kelssek in the quarter-finals - a team that had struggled to three wins, but failed miserably in their last game against Dark Teutonia, where their fly-half Brother Wilkinson scored three goals and ensured a 18-32 loss for Kelssek. With games lately being something of a score-fest, it's hoped that the Cockbill Street team will find some gaps in the Kelssek defense and continue on their fine run - which may be the first to Streetian success since who knows when.

East Lithuania Advances!!!!

Yes, thats right. In their first time here, the East Lithuania Sea Dragon's advance to the querter-finals! A big upset indeed, but thats just the begining. Theres still the semis and maybe, just maybe... the finals. It will be very hard, but if the Sea Dragon's can make it this far, they could in fact go all the way.

Vilita & Turori Rugby Eel Cat Things : Tryouts Begin

--------------The Vilita & Turori Rugby Association finally got it's long-awaited tryouts underway, just in time for the second stage of the Rugby Union World Cup. All players were required to tryout again, including those that had participated with the team due to default in the qualifying stages. Monster back Bilbo Baggins was not very happy about having to tryout again, but I don't think anyone else was very happy to have to go up against him, so he easily regained his spot on the team.

Bilbo Baggins expresses his displeasure at having to tryout

--------------Baggins, however, did not have the mental composure to lead the tryout session. With no formal coach for the team, the Vilita and Turori Tugby Association chose the skilled Alexander Kramp-Salecker who leads all players in the cup in penalties scored thanks to a 3-penalty performance on Matchday 4 against Krytenia. Kramp-Salecker chose the Owls National Stadium training ground in Yeaddin, Vilita to host tryouts for the Vilita & Turori Rugby Eels Cat Things on the teams off-day from Cup competition, after the team had already booked their place in the second round.

--------------All those with Vilita or Turori nationality were welcomed to tryout pending the release of waiver forms. Despite these clear rules, a few hooligans did show up and try to disrupt the practice. This Starblaydian mug-rat pranced around and broke into conversations throughout the day before finally being eaten by Bilbo Baggins at lunch time. Luckily he was not smart enough to bring a cellphone to inform the Starblaydians of the intelligence he had gathered before his untimely demise.

Dark Teutonia 32 - 18 Kelssek

Today we witnessed what could be the pivotal moment in this year’s rugby world cup,
With the Group winners position at stake and an easier quarterfinal tie awaiting the winner Dark Teutonia and Kelssek went head to head in a battle of the giants,
Kelssek unbeaten in the group so far was marginal favourite to win the group before the tournament started but now face the rumbling juggernaught that is the Dark Teutonian Rugby Team.

The Teams took to the field and there seemed to be a genuine respect for each other as the teams lined up for the national anthems but as the Dark Teutonian anthem blared out the faces of the Dark Teutonian players became resolute and their eyes blazed with holy fervour.
Kelssek kicked off the game and the first dark Teutonian drive start from their own 22 the ball was caught by Fullback Robinson who broke several tackles before been brought down but was well supported by the Teutonian pack as the pushed the Kelssek defenders off him to release the ball back on the Teutonian side where the backs drove it through the Kelssek defence with Lomu using his strength to take it over the halfway line supported by vickery who took an inside pass the Teutonian team drove it towards the kelssekain 30 yard line where the ball fell into Redemptor Wilkinson’s hands who didn’t hesitate and calmly put boot to ball to put over a 40 yard drop goal to send the Teutonians into a 3-0 lead,
Kelssekian team responded with a 35-yard penalty a few minutes later as an offence in the scrum seen only by the official himself gave them a chance at goal that was calmly placed between the uprights.
With the scores locked at 3-3 both sides drove forward and was repelled by the defences before a break by Kay tore the Kelssekian apart and rampaged to the 22 yard line before handing off the full back and passing the ball to the supporting Robinson who strolled under the posts for the opening try, Wilkinson added the conversion and suddenly the score was 10-3 to Teutonia.
Dark Teutonia then began to dominate the match with Wilkinson adding a second drop goal to stretch the lead to 13-3 but Kelssek was not to be bullied and replied with a similar drop goal to reduce the deficit to 13-6 as half time approached,
A rash of penalties saw the Kelssekian team driven back where Redemptor Wilkinson boot did more damage with two penalties the first a simple effort 30 yards out in front of the posts the second was from the touchline some 35 yards out to the right but this made no difference to him as he placed it accurately between the posts.
As the First half whistle was blown the score was Dark Teutonia 19 Kelssek 6.

The second half showed no signs of stopping from the first half’s ferocity as both team drove into each other the ball sometimes been forgotten the referee struggled to keep control who eventually lost patience with the dark Teutonian forwards as they repeatedly dropped the Kelssek maul and a penalty try was awarded to Kelssek who added the conversion to make the score 19-13.
Inquisitor Johnson was furious with the decision but turned his anger to inspire his pack to greater feats as they battered the Kelssek defence time and time again before the ball was spread wide into the hands of Tindall who broke several tackles and was stopped on the Kelssek line before a quick play the ball and outrageous dummy by Moore allowed Wilkinson to stroll over the line as the defence went the wrong way,
Wilkinson’s superb kicking form continued as he added the conversion to make the score 26-13.
The game entered the final 10 minutes and the man of the match Wilkinson put the game beyond Kelssek’s reach with a third Drop goal taking the score to 29-13 then 32-13 with a penalty two minutes from time.
But credit to the Kelssekian team they never stopped working and was rewarded with a try in the dying seconds taking the score to 32-18 the conversion was missed and the referee blew the fulltime whistle.
Dark Teutonia was through as winners buy Kelssek was comforted by the fact they qualified in a clear second place.
but man of the match was Remeptor Wilkinson scoring 27 of the 32 points for Dark Teutonia today.

Today the Church of Dark Teutonia Declared a National holiday in honour the the Nations Rugby team winnings its group and moving into the quarter finals in the Rugby World Cup.

The nations churches are over flowing as citizens flock to them to offer up there thanks to their lord for gifting them such glory,
The head of the Dark Teutonian church High Inquisitor Nostratatmas has these word to say about his team.

The team of dark Teutonia have shown what faith in their god and country can do, they headed into the tournament as unknowns and are now the team everyone wants to avoid, coach wolfric has taken men strong of faith and true of heart and moulded them into a team that can sweep all before them.
I will be travelling shortly to Starblaydia to give them the churches blessing for the work they have already carried out in full expectation of them carrying on the work of the lord and win this cup for all of Teutonia.

As the nation celebrated we caught up with some of the revellers and asked them what they thought of what was happening in Starblaydia,

Wahoo go go Dark Teutonia the whole countries behind you everyone at work is so excited at what’s happening and the bosses are pleased as well since we are working harder than ever.

Have you seen that pack?? What hunks …you would wouldn’t you just look at their thighs ..ooo I feel all faint

They have made me want to play the game watching them play so well who knows one day maybe I’ll be playing in the world cup finals Inquisitor Johnson is an inspiration to us all.

As you can see the excitement is infectious and the government is showing all games live free of charge to the whole country as a boost to morale,
Can anyone stop them? It looks like a tough task I for one wouldn’t want to be in their path.

This is Harry Ivar for Dark Teutonia news…

As the Preparation of thier quarter Final Date with East Lithuania continues the training ground is buzzing with excitement all spaces for fans to watch are long filled and many hundreds are outside the ground.

Coach wolfric is in no mood to let the Dark Teutonian Team get complacent and puts them through a rigourous training session,
Teutonian coaches and analyts watch everything that happens talking to the head coach about things they have seen.
To several he nods and they pull players off the pitch to show them what they have found and suggest improvements.

After an hour of practice the Head coach calls a halt and the Teutonian PR people after discussion with Coach wolfric are allowed access to several players who do interviews for local and international sports programmes.

Coach Wolfric Satisifed the players have chaperones to fend off unwanted questions he heads of the TV studio for his own interviews.

Inside he is fitted with a microphone and makes him self comfortable as questions are passed back and forth at one time his usually stern face almost smiles but this is soon quashed.
A single press Statement from wolfric is released to the international community at large on his plans now the group stages have finished.

I am pleased with the team as a whole one or two players are in superb form but the team work spirit is strong there is no one player i could pick out as our star playter as each has their own job and if all the team does the job given to them we will be very difficult to beat.

I have heard some of the comments made in the press from other coaches and my reply is simple we finished top of our group.. one which in my opinion was the toughest group to qualify from.

Each game we got better and better our kicking tackling and passing has at times been a delight to watch and i intend the same standard shall not drop.
We are strong in our faith if the good lord decides to show us his favour then no-one would stand in our way,

But it is us who pay homage to him each victory is won in his name we do not ask or expect divine intervention instead we rely on the divine creation of our race to carry us forth in his name.

Will we win the cup??....that is to be seen but it will not be a shock if we do the best teams of the tournament now play each other it is time to show what each team is made of.

I,ll let you experts talk about who will win the cup...me im off to prepare the team goodnight gentlemen....

Bottle-Throwing Maniac Redux

STARBLAYDIA - It was back to the good old maniac as Kelssek coach Matt Taylor all but tossed another bottle as controversial penalties and Paul Jackson being yellow carded for a high tackle brought down the Blue Leafs to a 32-18 loss against Dark Teutonia.

Jackson being sinbinned for a high tackle got Taylor screaming from the start, and the Leafs struggled to get into a groove without Jackson or Stephane Fournier, who sat out the game with a hamstring injury. Dark Teutonia took advantage and converted a try.

Taylor then turned his ire on his players as Kelssek gave away three penalties, putting the Teutonians far ahead by half time.

Whether it was a dressing-down from their clearly incensed coach or the extravagant nationalistic display by the Teutonian fans, the Leafs came out irritated and motivated, pounding the Teutonians into the turf to begin the half. The aggressive play paid off as Joel Danforth literally bashed his way through the Teutonians and got a try, converted by Jackson, to make the score 19-13.

Jackson, who scored 5 points from one conversion and one drop goal, was overshadowed by the peformance of Inquisitor Wilkinson who put the Neorvins Argos hero to shame with a brilliant performance, almost single-handedly winning the game for Dark Teutonia.

Matt Taylor was clearly still fuming after the game, although he managed to hide it well.

"The play out there was crazy. I thought we got the short end of the stick on the refereeing out there, but some [calls] go your way, some don't, that's how it is. We got lazy and probably underestimated the Teutonians because we had 12 points and they didn't. We went in with the attitude that the game didn't matter and paid for it."

Taylor also confirmed that Fournier will be fit for the quarter finals, where Kelssek will face Cockbill Street.

Just Not Good Enough: Taylor Sacked As Kelssek Crashes Out

STARBLAYDIA - And with that, the death knell sounded for Matt Taylor as KRU executives took barely 15 minutes in an emergency meeting to give Blue Leafs coach Matt Taylor the shove after Kelssek crashed out of the Rugby World Cup quarterfinals 18-11 to Cockbill Street.

After all the brimming promise of three straight wins and Paul Jackson's ability to seemingly find drop goals at will, it all went wrong in two days as first, a match that should have been even led to a pounding at the hands of Dark Teutonia and then an early exit at the hands of Cockbill Street.

To be fair, it was a very close game and could have gone either way; a converted try would have evened the score and the Blue Leafs thrice came close to levelling it and could have won it, dominating the last 40 minutes with a superb offensive effort only to be thwarted by the Cockbill defence in the opposition 22. Poor ball handling led to at least one Cockbill Street try and a case could have been made to excuse the slips with the wet conditions on the day.

Cockbill Street had their share of screw-ups too - their kicker missed what should have been an easy conversion and they did not manage to convert any of the tries or penalties, one of which Kelssek seemed to be giving up every 10 seconds in the first half and could have put Kelssek further behind early. Paul Jackson's brilliant form seemed a shadow of the past, though perhaps it was because of the intense scrutiny he recieved from the defence, leaving him with little room to breathe, let alone kick. He managed one drop goal for the night.

Matt Taylor is probably the most successful coach to have been sacked. Reaching the quarterfinals was no mean feat, and the unbeaten run in the Pinko Cup as well as his test match record should count for something. But after all, you're only as good as your last game and perhaps the lovable "bottle-throwing maniac", as one KRU official described him after his first day on the job, finally exhausted the directors' stores of patience with the erractic performances and occasional violent outbursts, and of course, that first-day bottle toss.

Perhaps Taylor should have been given more of a chance. But for the barest sliver of luck, he might still have a job and Kelssek might be in the semi-finals. But what might have been isn't what is, and so there he goes. Taylor seemed pretty affable about it, though he probably knew his fate was sealed once the final whistle blew.

"They made their decision and I can't do anything about it, can I? I've got two years left on my contract, so I'm getting paid 4 years' money for 2 years of work and I get something impressive to add to my resume. Can't complain."

Street Beats Kelssek Out of World Cup
Opposition Coach Sacked

That's it - Cockbill Street are in their first semi-final of an international tournament since the handball championships oh so long ago (no, losers' cups like Cups of Harmony don't count). Yesterday's 18-11 win over Kelssek was enough to win the quarter-final, as a dominant and determined first-half effort was enough to win the game in the rain.

The Kelssek team were downbeat after their earlier 18-32 loss to Dark Teutonia, and this was probably a large part of their utter failure to create anything serious in the first half. Steven Thomas ran in the first try after only six minutes, diving after a fine passing move, while Fred Satwich set up one right under the post which Ivar Axewielder then proceeded to miss. 10-0 up after 20 minutes, though, and nerves began to calm down a bit in the Streetian encampment. Not even a Danforth penalty could save the Kelssek team, as they went into the break down 3-13 after Martin Woodsworth kicked another drop goal in a bit of a tough spot - the ball, luckily for the Kestrels, went in off the upright.

A quick try early in the half from Thomas Byatt, however, swung the game back into contention for a moment, before Cockbill Street finally got the better of the contention. Kelssek had the ball and were looking to charge into the Streetian 22, but Duclos dropped it, Rhabdophane charged forward and grabbed the ball, and proceeded to knock off all opposition before calmly passing it off to Liam McIntosh who dived in for the try. Incredibly, Axewielder missed another conversion, but it didn't matter - the Streetians were 18-3 up, and could complete the match in cruise control.

Matt Taylor, coach of the Kelssek team, was sacked only 15 minutes after the game, despite the nation being one of the more successful at this rugby world cup. He now awaits a new job, and there have been talks in Chesham about employing him as their old coach, Ryan Wilkinson, is nearing 65 and retirement. Perhaps some foreign influence would do Streetian rugby good - even though at the moment, little is needed.

Cockbill Street face Starblaydia next - a team that made the Ravean Shushbugs struggle in the group stage, winning 53-3, but were held to 9-8 by the Vilita & Turori Rugby Eel Cat Things (yes, they insist on that name - though most of the players are Vilitan) in the quarter-finals. Three penalties and a bit of luck as Vilita failed to convert a late try sent them through to the semis, and these two teams are expected to be very evenly matched. However, Dark Teutonia are probably the team to beat in these championships - they won by a cricket score against East Lithuania, ramming in five tries, four penalties and five drop goals to win 62-10, and now face an Aust side that's looked anything but impressive and hardly up to its potential.

Aust keep the ball rolling- Another stunning victory.

Once again the Austian team have buldozered there way towards the quater finals.

A drop goal from the oppersition fly-half proved a danger to Austs rise towards the quaters, but that couldn't stop the powerful Austian pack winning the day.

First to score was Tom Corkell, smashing over from a few meters out after a rolling maul, Rushmore converted once more, then a period of perlonged pressure in which Rushmore kicked 5 peniltys, and 2 drop goals.

the teams went in at half time with Aust 28-3 up, however it was only after that, that Aust really went to work. Austin crossed twice in the first few minuates, once with a mazy run from deep, and then with a dive over try from the 5 meter.

However Austs forwards wern't going to let him have the final word, a few minuates from time Corkell brock from the scrum again, smashing through several tackles to score under the posts.

Horray! it's off the the semis we go

Austian fans saluted there heros today as the Austian team powed it's way towards the semi finals, but it wasn't always so sure.

Aust conceded a early penilty and a drop goal to put the oppersition 6-0 up, to the Amazement of the Austiuan fans, then things got worse.

FesCo's center crashed through the groping tackle of Liam Ray to score a memroble try. The 40,000 Austian fans in the stadium went quiet, the 10,000 FesCo fans went bezerk.

And thats how it was at half time. Many radio stations where indated with calls from Austian fans calling for there coaches, and the teams heads, litrally.

But after half time Aust began there fightback, Westcarr, the villian for many of the tornment crashed over after a superb backs move, what he was doing on the wing, no one knows, but he certainly took the try perfectly. However due to the tight angle Rushmore missed the kick.

10-5, then pressure was put on by the Austians, they got a penilty and then, with a superb drop goal from the halfway lne, rushmore took the lead. 11-10

FesCo pushed forth, trying to score, but Austs defence held ferm, the oppersition time and time again looked like breaking through, only for Liam Rays, and Joel Gill tackling to send them crashing to earth.

With the final hooter gone it looked like Aust was going to scrap through, but then a incident that made every Austian fnas heart stop beating.

The FesCo center broke through Austian tackles on there 22, he was downed by Gill but popped it back up to there Winger. It looked like no one could stop him as he powered away.

Austin gave chase, stride by stride cutting the distance between them, as they reached the 5 meter line he dived and tapped-tackled the FesCo wingers left foot. The man came crashing to the ground.

Recovering quickly Austin pounced on the loose ball and got to his feet, the rest of the players had started chasing back again, and Austin, already tired from 83 minuates of rugby ad a long sprint began the charge back up the pitch. Fesco's defence was disorganised, they had expected a kick into touch, not this and Austin powered towards them, dodging the first tack, dummying the next, he weaved his way between the opperstion defenders until he was cear, another sprint to the line.

The FesCo right winger chased him down, and Austin tired by sprinting all that way began to slow. he headed for the corner and then with a full length dive touched the ball down.

The FesCo winger was not happy and began to kick the young winger on the floor, the Austian team rushed to help but the Austian fans got there sooner , leaping the barriers they invaded the pitch attacking the FesCo winger and soon a fight broke out, between the police, the Austian fans, the Fes Co fans and the players.

Austin was carried off, unconcouse and it remains to see weather he will be fit.

Lethislavania has offered to host NSRUWC3, there's only a need for some kind of vote if more than one person wants to do it. A sign-up thread for the third Cup would also be useful, but I'm gearing up to host the Football World Cup, so I probably won't have the time or inclination to run sign-ups.

The Quarter final that wasn’t.

With all they hype surrounding the quarter finals Dark Teutonia took the field against the East Lithuanian Team to a roar from both sets of fans who expected a classic encounter.
Unfortunately it turned out to be the most one sided quarter final which left the Lithuanian fans with a bitter taste in their mouth as East Lithuania was steam roller’ed by the Dark Teutonian team.

Dark Teutonia started at a charge and within 20 minutes the quarter final place looked theirs,
Redemptor Wilkin was in imperious form in the back line as Captain Johnson Ruled the forward line like a titan among mortals.
The Forwards battered the East Lithuanian line time and time again and the East Lithuanians had to resort to giving away penalties as was punished by the boot of Redemptor Wilkinson who kicked 4 penalties within 6 minutes putting Dark Teutonia up by 12-0,

With the forwards in dominant form it was a surprise when the entire packs rolled forward for the simplest of push over tries with hooker Moore coming up with the ball from under the pile of bodies the conversion was a formality and with 12 minutes gone it was 19-0 to Dark Teutonia.
Redemptor Wilkinson then decided to hold a master class in drop goals as he put three drop goals over from 25, 34 and 48 yards respectively the score was now 28-0 with only 20 minutes gone.

The match then turned into an extended training session for the Dark Teutonian team who added tries from Robinson and Lomu both of which was converted to finish the half as Dark Teutonia led by 42 pts to 0.

At Half time Coach Wolfric decided to rest several players and brings on 4 substitutes as
Redemptor Leonard, Inquisitor Greenwood, Brother Rokocoko and Zealot Borthwick come on and Zealot Bezwidenhout, Brother Mortlock, Zealot Vickery and Zealot Tindall all came off,

East Lithuania started the second half a little better than the first with a penalty to put some points on the board making it 42-3,
But Dark Teutonia was in mood to show mercy and showed their ruthless streak and powered forward once again as Brother Robinson ran circles around the East Lithuanian defense interpassing several times to score a spectacular 65 yard try Wilkinson duly converted and the score now read Dark Teutonia 49 East Lithuania 3.
Wilkinson’s boot again showed its potency with 2 more drop goals taking it to five in the match Dark Teutonia now lead by 55 points to 3,
Boo’s rang from the East Lithuanian fans at their teams poor performance which briefly stirred them into life again as they put their best period of play in the match together which resulted in their first try which they then converted to take their points to 10 but still behind by 45 points this was a mere consolation.

The Game was rounded off several minutes from time as Dallagio Strolled through the East Lithuanian defense to score left of the posts and Wilkinson added the final 2 points of the match as the Referee looked at his watch and decided East Lithuania had been punished enough and ended the game.

With the entire Team Looking in top form and Wilkinson so deadly in front of goal it looks like Dark Teutonia go into the Semi final with Aust RFC in peak form.

Good Evening Dark Teutonia after the Stunning 62-10 win over East Lithuania our glorious rugby team has reached the World Cup semi finals at the first attempt.

With the Dark Teutonian Captain inquisitor Johnson and his pack ruling the forward line its has given our guest tonight the chance to show his skills,
Ladies and Gentlemen please welcome via satellite from Starblaydia…. Redemptor Wilkinson.

The studio crowds noise is deafening and it is several minutes before the applause die down enough for the interview to start

Interviewer-Well I think the Studio audience seem to show just how much the Dark Teutonian team has been taken to heart by the peoples of Teutonia for their performances in Starblaydia and help in no little part by your efforts from the boot,

Wilkinson -Well ive been very lucky with the boot but without the rest of the team we wouldn’t be where we are today I am just part of the whole.

Interviewer -Part of the team you maybe but the 97 points you have scored in the last four games seems to paint a different picture,
The team started slowly in the first game against Kaze Progressa with you only scoring a single penalty but against Crystilakere you added another 6 points as you found your feet literally in the cup.
But it was against Vast principal you showed the from we have come to enjoy so much with a personal haul of 25 points,
But this was only a glimpse of things to come as Kelssek as you amassed another 27 points which won us the group.
Most people would have been happy with that kind of haul but you seemed to have a point to prove and in the quarter final earlier you scored a mammoth 37 points.
In the five matches played ladies and gentleman he has scored 34 times consisting of two tries, 11 conversions, 10 penalties and a whopping 11 drop goals at total of 97 points, I think that deserves a round of applause don’t you?.

The audience again stands up to applaud the Wilkinson who looks a little embarrassed by the attention

Wilkinson-What every one has to realize I am just the finished product of the coaches who train me the analysts who watch my every movement if they spot anything even slightly wrong they are there to help me and offer advice and Coach wolfric deserves the glory he has got us all fired up and has improved all of our skills beyond our own wildest dreams.

Interviewer-The Team has shown a remarkable spirit that is true but surely you are the star of the team?

Wilkinson The true star of our team is our lord it is our faith in him that has brought us success, I am but a tool of our lord who chose Coach wolfric to wield I would remind you again there is no single man in our team who is above the others we are brothers in arms.
I have to prepare for the semi final im sure the entire team would be glad to talk after the game we will return to talk to you all then.

Interviewer - Ermm thank you Redemptor Wilkinson we look forward to that.

Austin coach Clive Woodwin has annoucnced that he balives that his team can beat Dark Tutonias clones.

"The relegious twats won't know whats hit them" he claimed "Where as fired up as can be and where ready to play.

Coach Wolfric puts down the remote to the TV after hearing the Aust RFC coach outburst and just grins

He not even very good at it is he if he thinks a few foul mouthed rants will make me weaken the team by changing my plans to take revenge,
Then he's an idiot he may have impressive coaching skills i mean he got them to the semi final he cant be all stupid can he?

The head of the Dark Teutonian church High Inquisitor Nostratatmas Turns in his chair to face Coach wolfric he considers a few moment before replying.

Let him rant and rave all he wants the deaths they concern me it could take away some of the support that the neutrals have for us as they come out in sympathy for the injured,

I,ll have the medical team go offer thier assistance along with myself and my personal bodyguards and physicians we,ll offer our support and to the inured and help console the bereaved.

You talk to Zealot Tindall tell him first chace he gets i want him to drive one of thier players into the Austian Dugout and dump him on Woodwins lap...freaks indeed.

I will talk to Inquisitor johnson beforei leave just keep the preperations on schedule i know the players are ready to run through brick walls for you, your job here has been exemplary you will be well rewarded back home.

I,ll take care of off pitch preperations i will be blessing the team personally before kick off the church is proud of them

Bring the team to the hospital for a while later have them sign autographs and give out some merchandise to those affected.

Coach wolfric bows slightly and puts his arm across his chest in salute

Your will as always Arch Inquisitor i shall inform Zealot tindall of your orders and will have our medical staff meet you in the lobby

One hour later on a local news network

After the horrendous injuries and deaths in one of the quarter finals yesterday an unexpected occurance has taken place.

A fleet of Black Vans and Lorries bearing the Symbol of dark Teutonia has arrived at the hospital where the injured are been treated,

From out of the vans came Squads of medics and the most unexpected Sight of The head of the Dark Teutonian church High Inquisitor Nostratatmas and his personal Retinue who he ordered to help the hospital staff with the injured,

Serveral of his priests was seen comforting the bereaved as the huge lorries was combined together to make a State of the art mobile hospital to supplement the hospitals facilities.

They have asked for noting in return and are offering the aid in the spirit of international relations i managed to gain a few words with his holiness Arch Inquisitor Nostratatmasas he arrived

Your Holiness we are stunned and grateful for the aid you have offered to the victims today one question seems to present itself ...why??...

Miss gooding We are in middle of what was supposed to be a international celebration of rubgy unfortunately instead we have had death and injury to the innocents watching the game,

My god would not let me stand by and see them suffer and dispite some foul words aimed at our team and coach by certain individuals Coach wolfric has sent his entire Medical staff to which i added my own to help as best we can.

We will offer our medical expertise and our spiritual comfort to those who need it, My aides tell me the Entire Dark Teutonia Squad will be here later to see the injured and offer thier support also,
This isnt a time for differances we,ll leave that on the pitch now is the time for healing

Well im afraid i must leave there is so much to do....

He is ushered away from an awestruck reporter who finally gains her voice to finish the report.

Well i am stunned my respect for the Dark Teutonians has increased tenfold to ffer aid without thought of themselves is one i didnt expect we will try to bring you coverage of when the dark teutonian team arrives later as it happens

Dispite the Dark Teutonia Rugby Team been on the Verge playing their Rubgy world Cup semi final the entrie team turned up at the hospital for a visit to the injured.

This is Cynthia Gooding S.N.C news reporting as the Dark Teutonian team arrived for thier promised visit.

These giant men stopped and talked with the injured showing a compassionate side to thier nature, even when a rival teams fan began to hurl abuse they turned the other cheek as the Fan was taken away by the security team for Dark Teutonia before he could cause anymore trouble.

The Team Signed autographs for the injured and offered words of comfort many having forgotten these behemoths may be rugby players but all are men of the cloth,
All too soon the team had to leave the hospital but they left behind many happier faces wearing the Dark Teutonian shirts signed by the team.
I think this team has made many more friends and admirers with thier visit tonight i for one wish them well for thier match win draw or lose these men will be winners with the people here long after the tournament has finished.

Silence Filled the Stadium as the Dark Teutonian Request for a minutes silence accepted by all the fans with no-one breaking it as respects was paid to the dead and injured from the quarter final incidents.

As the Referee blew his whistle to signal the end of the minutes silence the crowd roared as one as both teams stood in a circle in the middle of the pitch turned and clapped the crowd for their respect.

Fireworks exploded over the stadium and the air was filled with confetti as both teams lined up to start the match.

Having won the toss Dark Teutonian Inquisitor Johnson elected to have the wind behind them in the second half as his team prepared to kick the ball off, the whistle blew and Inquisitor Wilkinson kicked off deep into the Austian half who broke well towards the half way line until a staggering tackle from Zealot Tindall ended up with him driving the Austian fullback into his own Dug out and unceremoniously dumping him on Coach Woodwin and his staff, Tindall walked away with a wry grin on his face not even looking at the referee who decided he had been a little over zealous in the tackle and awarded a penalty,
With the wind at their back Aust RFC decided to attempt to kick for goal despite it been 40 meters from the posts and near the touch line their confidence was well rewarded as the ball crept over the pots hitting and bouncing over the middle post to open the scoring now leading by 0-3,

The Fans began cheering on both the teams as the battle for 20 minutes without either side managing a score until a clever chip over the top By Inquisitor Wilkinson saw he collect his own kick then taking the tackle as he released the ball to Brother Robinson who raced down the touch line to score in the corner, Wilkinson tried to battle the wind with his kick but is stalled and drop short.
But the score now read Dark Teutonia 5 Aust RFC 3.

Both sets of Forwards battled for supremacy neither giving an inch as the rucks and mauls ticked away the minutes of the first half, but the deadlock was broken as the Austian Fly Half Rushmore made a darting run slicing open the defense and leaped over the line to score under the posts a try that was duly converted to give Aust RFC a 10-5 lead.
With only two minutes left in the half Dark Teutonia laid siege to the Austian line which finally buckled as Redemptor Wilkinson put boot to ball in a magnificent cross field kick which held up in the wind and fell into the Waiting Arms of winger Lomu who used his power to good effect taking his tacklers over the line with him corner post and all,
The referee not sure of the grounding consulted his lineman who nodded stating Lomu and grounded the ball successfully and it was the defenders legs that had hit the corner post.
The wind again proved too strong to kick against as Wilkinson hit the upright with his attempt as the referee blew his whistle for half time.

The first half ended with the score Dark Teutonia 10 Aust RFC 10.

The Second half kicked off with both teams starting as the finished the first with some punishing tackles as 30 minutes passed by with no score added in the second half as both teams started to look at the score board nervously.
A late Tackle on Gregan saw the Austians penalized and up stepped Redemptor Wilkinson with the wind now in his favour who placed the ball carefully and stepping back looked at the posts before kicking the ball between them with pinpoint precision to send the Dark Teutonian Fans wild as they took a 3 point lead 13-10.
Aust RFC hit back with urgency but was repelled by the Dark Teutonian defense time and time again as frustration set in but Rushmore had other ideas and finding a yard of space snapped over a close range drop goal to level the scores at 13-13 with five minutes to go.
Both teams have several chances to score but both defenses was determined not to let the other score a sharp shrill from the referees whistle sounded and Dark Teutonia attacked as he signaled hands been used on the floor and Dark Teutonia had a penalty 45 meters out and only 5 from the touchline.
Without hesitation Captain Johnson gave the ball to Wilkinson and point towards the posts.
Wilkinson nodded and placing the ball down and lining up the ball carefully he took several steps back his eyes looking from ball to posts several times.
Time seemed to slow down as he stepped forward kicking the ball hard……and sailing between the posts ….the Deadlock was broken Dark Teutonia 16 Aust RFC 13.
Aust attack with desperation as the final minutes slipped past but the Teutonian defense held firm and the hooter sounded for full time Dark teutonia was Through to the final.

Aust booted out of World Cup finals.
Woodwin sacked.

Aust where booted out of the World Cup semi-finals today, as they failed to capitalise on the posession.

The game started badly with Aust lossing the toss after the minuates silance for the dead of the quater final.

The game started well for Aust, Gill taking the kick from the start and making 40 yards down the right touchline before Tindall dumped the small player, (only 5'4'') onto his own coaching staff. The ref gave a penitlty to Aust and Rushmore duely converted from over 40 yards out.

The game began to turn nasty after that as tackles flew in fast and fureous, most notebly by Howick when he did a full langth dmp on Wilkinson which lead to both players being sent to the sin bin, after the ensuring fight.

As soon as they returned fullback Joason Robinson battled passed Austins weakened tackling and dived into the corner from under the arms of Gill.

Wilkinson missed the conversion in the howling wind and the 50,000 Austian fan jeered there defiance.

Again more heavy tackles in the middle of the park ensured, making this game one that will be rembered for a long time,

Rushmore scored again after a darting run, followed by a 1-2 with Austin round the fullback gave him a try under the posts, he converted it.

Again Austins weakness was shown by Lomu who powered past the injured 16 year old and though Gill got him down he managed to ground the ball before sliding out of play. Wilkinson missed the kick.

Half time- 10-10

The second half continued as the first had, woth many large tackles, and 3 players sent to the bin, no score came until 12 minuates to go, as a late tackle on Gregan by Howick saw the young lad sent off and Wilkinson score a easy penilty. Rushmore hit back.

But then, 5 minuates from time, Aust where penalised for hands in the ruck and Wilkinson kicked them from the compertian, now only the 3rd place match remains.

Street In The Dark
Always Look On the Dark Side of Life

Normally, the nation would be ecstatic of the prospect of a final in anything in world sport - after all, it's not like the Streetians are used to finals, let alone winners' finals. But all the Streetians seem to be able to think about was the following match, and the assured loss against Dark Teutonia.

Of course, the team had played well to get this far - an amazing semi-final against Starblaydia capped a decent all-round effort, in which only one game had been lost, which had led to this first final (in any sport!) in thirty-odd years - since the battles with Rejistania on the handball courts.

The match started rather badly for Cockbill Street, Khanasan making a side-opening pass to Jools Sturmdrang who ran in the game's first try far out on the left - but Khanasan's kicking was as exquisite as ever, the ball sailing over the post and in for a 7-0 lead. The Streetians didn't despair, however, Woodsworth replying with a quick try and Axewielder squandering the kicking chance - but he quickly made up for himself as Starblaydia gave away a penalty just on 30 yards and he kicked his first three points of the game, giving Cockbill Street 8-7.

The match see-sawed back and forth in the first half, Khanasan kicking a couple of penalties but Cockbill Street replying with another well-set-up try, O'Gonnagal winning the ball in a ruck and then charging forward before a four-pass play saw Starblaydia one man short and Olaf Bearthrower notching up his first try of the championship, tying the game at 13 all. With the conversion finally being kicked over by Axewielder, Cockbill Street led 15-13, and that was the score at half-time.

The most eagerly awaited battle was that between Cockbill Street's entirely-troll front-row of Niter, Corundum and Rhabdophane - three players who hardly get headlines otherwise - and Starbladyia's entirely-dwarf front row, consisting of Khuzdul, Tumunzahar and Chugo (Starblaydi dwarfs steadfastly refuse to get proper names like Axewielder, which the rest of us can pronounce). And it lived up to its promise - scrums repeatedly being collapsed due to fisticuff fights between the props, rucks and mauls turning into a complete brawl, and repeated sin-binnings and red cards. Eventually, both teams played 13 on 13 for the remaining ten minutes - somewhat of a record for a rugby match. That opened up the defence for Cockbill Street, allowing them to run in a further two tries - one off a stupid pass by Jongbloed, Cockbill Street grabbing the chance and O'Gonnagal finishing off the move, and the second off a fighting game that lasted six phases before Reed bashed through the middle and scored another try. With Woodsworth and Axewielder firing in a drop goal each, it didn't help that Starblaydia scored a consolation try - the game was well and truly lost.

The problem awaiting the Street in the final is that Dark Teutonia have been absolutely imposing. They swamped their group, winning four games in a row, continued to win their quarter-final by a massive 62-10 (should that be a quarter-final score in any sport? Certainly a worry for the breadth of world rugby), and won their semi-final thanks to a penalty kick 5 minutes from time from the specialist in such matters, fly-half Wilkinson.

Despite the Teutonians not having accomplished anything in the world of sport before, they are vast favourites going into the final. With Wilkinson having scored a massive 103 points, to Axewielder's paltry 60, the Teutonian defense not being as sloppy as Esth, Kelssek and Starblaydia, which has allowed the Cockbill Street team to score thirteen tries in the last three matches. However, the Streetians will have to take the advantage of their quick backs such as Seecham, Satwich and Woodsworth, perhaps with a bit of rain thrown in to make conditions hard for Dark Teutonia, and just maybe the Streetians can compete.

Well Coach Wolfric A stunning Game with a fair few heavy Tackles going in but when the whilste blew you walked off the pitch victorious how is the team feeling?

Coach Wolfric
Avid we are but one step from achieivng our ultimate goal and win the World Rugby cup,
We are of course elated to be in the final but as we speak the team is discussing tactics for the final

Avid Merrion
What?? you mean they are already in there planning mere minutes after winning a semi final? are the mad?

Coach Wolfric
No they are not mad they are pure of heart and commited to carrying out the lords work can you tyhink of a better time to discuss what went right and what went wrong in game?
They are pumped full of anger for any mistakes they made and prasing his name for the skills, Heart and Will to have won this game.
They will celebrate later when we are back at our base of operations they are always this way job first celebrations later.

Avid Merrion
You guys never stop surprising me its as though you are Re-writing the rule book,
A tough defensive performance by both teams out there and again it was the boot of Wilkinson and the strength of Lomu who won the game for you did everything go to plan?

Coach Wolfric
All contingencies was accounted for if thats what you mean the team reacted to each situation as we had intended Aust Was Tough Team to beat they should be proud of themselves few teams could of kept the game that close and despite the Ex-coach's rants i do have Respect for them im sure we,ll meet on the field again in the near future.

Avid Merrion
Did the late visit last night to the hospital interrupt your preperations?

Coach Wolfric
The visit last night was one that was needed, yes we could of stayed at our training base but people had died and others was injured relatives grieved we are all men of our lord it was his will we spread what comfort we could to those left behind

Avid Merrion
Your Compassion has won you many new fans the neutrals definately seemed to be cheering for you in the semi final and apparently your embassy has had record applications in the last 24hrs to emigrate to Dark Teutonia it seems you have done a great deal more than just comfort the bereaved you seem to have won peoples hearts here.

Coach Wolfric
We only did what we had to do if people are inspired by us then we have carried out our lords will by spreading his word to those in need,
We are not here to convert we are here to win.

Avid Merrion

Right pay attention you have all done well to get us to the final but if we don’t win, it will have all been for nothing Teutonian is a country for the strong and for those with the will to win.

The Church hand picked each of you they know all your strengths and your weaknesses and since we know them you will beat CockBill Street it does not matter they have trolls in the pack the are strong but they are slow and stupid,
Where our pack is strong enough to match them fast enough to leave them trailing and smart enough to keep them in a state of confusion for the entire match.

Their main danger man is Axewielder put the shackles on him and they will struggle we will give him enough attention to keep him quiet but the cockbill team is not one man they play well together and it is because of this they beat Starblaydia.
Don’t let these silly reports from their coach saying how they’ll be lucky to stay on the field with us fool you he is looking to make us lax that will not happen…

They have a fast backline discipline will be important keep your tricks out of the referees eyes and let him spot their clumsy retributions then we will punish them for it.

In defense lets us keep it rolling and don’t get sucked in we will be provoked we will be kicked, punched and gouged….we would do the same ….be strong in our lords faith he has blessed you all with the will to win don’t let this bunch of misfits take it away from you.

Inquisitor Johnson it will be your job as usual to keep their forwards tied up and confused, I know you manage that every game but you’ll need to keep them under tighter control this time.,
Redemptor Wilkinson your boot needs to be at 100% when we finish here the boffins noticed something that may help go see them please.

Brother Robinson play like you have all tournament and I’ll be a happy man be wary of cross field kicks your pace should keep them to a minimum but lets not get complacent.

Zealot Tindall the Arch Inquisitor sends you a message of thanks for carrying out his orders so promptly keep that tackling up it was inspired.

Brother Lomu I would like to see you coming infield a little more hit their centre, let them feel how difficult it is to stop you.

Right you individual coaches are awaiting have the medics check you out then report to them for your debrief..

Lets not mess this up gentleman they don’t deserve to win this final you do, don’t let them take what is yours.

The Match day of the World Rugby Cup final starts at dawn for the Dark Teutonian team after a good nights sleep the medical squad and coaches make their final preparations ready for the match.

Fans Flock from every corner of the lands the ticket touts are doing a roaring trade as people are willing to pay anything to see these teams in action.

Coach Wolfric stands impassively as the players are readied, from the training camps quarters appears the head of the Church of Dark Teutonia Arch Inquisitor Nostratatmus,
Along with his personal bodyguards he moves in between the players blessing each one as he gives them communion and reminds them of the sin of losing.

The players all lower to one knee around the Arch Inquisitor as he sprinkles holy water on their foreheads with each blessing.

Go forth my children and do the lords work this day, your efforts have not gone unnoticed and shall be rewarded mightily if you succeed this day,
The whole country as well as our lord watches you this day make them proud to be part of the Holy Empire of Dark Teutonia.
Send back the unholy spawn that opposes you this day the trolls, the dwarves and other creatures show them the purity of our faith.

The players bang their arms across their chests as they swear to carry out the lords work in the name of Dark Teutonia,
Flames of determination and passion burn in their eyes as Coach wolfric gathers them round for the last team talk of this World Rugby Cup.

And so the team departs for the stadium and their destiny.

An official Complaint was lodged by the Dark Teutonian Rugby Team Today as contraversial refereering decisions turned the final into a farce.

It Started in the 2nd minute when the Cockerbill trolls from an offside posistion attacked Redemptor Wilkinson Spearing him into the floor illeagally Bringing protests from the Dark Teutonian Captain Inquisitor Johnson,
The Referee who officiated Dark Teutonias first match loss immeadiatly Red Card Johnson with out explanation.

The Troll props then laughed at the prone form of Wilkinson then patted thier back pockets towards the Referee before stamping and Wilkinsons shoulder with a audible snap.

This Eurupted into a mass brawl as both teams fought a pitched battle with Zealot Tindall Sent off for a low blow on the prop who stamped on Wilkinson and Dallagio yellow carded for dissent and Brother Gregan Red Carded for Breaking the scrum-halfs nose who tried to straight arm him.

Despite these crippling losses the Cockerbill side could ony put 16 points on the board agaisnt a team down to 12 men for most of the match and to add insult to injury Dark Teutonia had 2 tries disallowed.

Coach wolfric put a gag on his players refusing them to talk to the press about the match and gave a simple damning statement.

I hope they gave a cheque and not cash that amount of hard currency would of put the referees back out.

We have had no world from the RWC governing body over the incidents yet but one is expected.

(ooc lol-well your scorinator didnt do too well there but congratulations to the Cockerbill player)

Street Lift Rugby Trophy
Shut Out Dark To Rejoice In Light

What on earth just happened? Cockbill Street won a sporting tournament? And a real World Championship? At rugby, no less, a sport followed by a minority of the population in very remote areas. Compare to the Dark Teutonian nation who seem to be 100 per cent behind their rugby side, and then, this must surely rank as one of the sporting upsets of the year - along with Crystilakere's moderately unpredictable football world cup run.

And the emphatic way in which the victory was fought underlined the way the Streetians have reached this far. Never mind those pansy Teutonians complaining about the referee - never mind the fact that they got three red cards for petty assault on Streetians - never mind the two disallowed tries, both of which were clearly forward-passes. This was a win that was won thanks to good, solid defense and precise, accurate tackling.

With two early penalties, Ivar Axewielder asserted his return to form - one following the mass brawl initiated by Teutonian players, another one after a clear foul on Reed - and then, Dark Teutonia being unused to things going against them, they just collapsed. Martin Woodsworth added to his already rich goal-tally, supplying the only try of the match, and Ivar Axewielder then kicked the conversion in for 13-0.

In the second half, however, the match evened out, but Cockbill Street kept it tight in their own 22 and came back on many counter-attacks - one of which resulted in a drop goal. With the final whistle being blown, Cockbill Street's players erupted in joy cheers unseen by Streeters for long, long times - realising that they were, truly, the best in the world.

Tomorrow has been adjuged a national holiday in the Street, as no one would be fit to work following the celebration - particularly in the northern cities, but Vimesbairners have also caught up to the sport of rugby. A nationwide league is considered to be in the set-up, with Vimesbairn United already having acquired hero full-back Martin Woodsworth.
