The Mirfakan star forces, the Labule, a heretofore ceremonial organization founded fifteen years ago to administer to the nation's military starships and space stations, is having its first test today as it drafts plans for the first orbital military shipbuilding facility. The station, being called simply Yazu Labulal Kasna (Labule Station One), will facilitate the building of small ships, such as the Calicke light transport, which is to be carried aboard most ships, the Segno, a VIP personal transport craft, and the ever-common shuttle, which can be fitted to carry up to four passengers or cargo. The biggest vessel that will be manufactured there is the Gel light assault ship, which is to form the foundation for the Labule's defense fleet. Yazu Labulal Kasna is expected to have at least ten drydock building areas, two of them large enough to manufacture the Gel. As design teams continue to work on the fleet's main offensive weapon, the hoksa, the Gel will serve as a first line of defense while plans for the more powerful Hokal guard ship and Lesui patrol ship and the facilities to build them continue to develop. The Labule is also drafting plans for their first independent antisubstance fuel processing and refueling stations, which are scheduled to be built shortly after the first Gels are launched. The Labule's starships will continue to refuel primarily at civilian stations until those are completed. This massive infrastructure movement is scheduled to occur over the next ten years, with Yazu Labulal Kasna being completed in seven and fuel processing and distribution stations to be erected in the last two or three. In the meantime, system defense for Mirfak will continue to be provided by the Labule from the few combat-equipped starships left after the reunification twenty years past.

The Gel is the foundation for the Labule's defense forces, excelling far beyond galactic standards in speed and maneuverability. It compensates for its weak shields with two highly accurate laser cannons, which it uses to shoot down enemy projectiles and weaken the shields of enemy starships. Its main weapon is the powerful forward-mounted antiproton cannon, used primarily for offensive purposes. The Gel carries no hoksas, making it more defensively vulnerable in planespace.
