Morsetania

At exactly 3:30 P.M. today, the peaceful quiet of the tiny Morsetanian mountain town of Pezelev was shattered by loud explosions as an unmarked van drove up next to a limousine carrying President Andrew Morse and then exploded, ripping the limo apart and killing the driver, as well as two of the President's bodyguards.
Morse himself managed to escape with only minor injuries.
The radical People's Reform Party has claimed responsibility for the attack and has promised more bombings unless President Morse steps down immediately and new elections are held.
Morse, who won the nation's first Presidential elections in a landslide in June, is viewed by many left-leaning groups as a puppet of big business and Western powers.
The People's Reform Party is also believed to be responsible for a car-bombing in October which killed Morsetania's Foreign Minister and three members of Parliament, and also a shooting last month which killed the Finance and Interior Ministers as well as two small children.
As news of the attempt on Morse's life spread through the country, the President's supporters took to the streets of Morsetania's capital Androvia in massive protest.
The Morsetanian Intelligence Agency has launched a nationwide investigation into the PFR and several units of the National Guard have been activated to protect against another possible attack. Several key members of the President's cabinet have been transported to undisclosed locations as a precaution.
The fledgling nation of Morsetania is now on high alert as the cloud of rebellion hangs overhead.
