Just in time LOW forces arrive and decisively defeat New Cynthian air power.

Invasion is defeated when New Cynthian leadership panics when faced with possibility of counterinvasion by LOW forces.

Final desperate New Cynthian attacks defeated by New Shiron, Vrak and LOW forces.

Victoria grimiced, "For one who does not have a law degree I do seem to spend a good deal of time quoting legal documents. Perhaps I should have gotten a Juiris Doctorate rather than my Ph.D...."

She leaned back and pondered for a moment, "Article five, section three is the relavent chapter..."

She opened a small drawer in the table next to her and pulled out a laptop device and began to punch buttons. A screen raised up from behind a ledge with a black screen and green type running across it.

Any nation, desiring to purchase Unclaimed Territory and settle in the Federated Klatchian Coast may due so at the invitation of a State of the Klatchian Coast.

A) Any nation, having purchased unclaimed territory in the Federation, shall be considered a Territory of the Federated Klatchian Coast.

B) A Territory shall have the same rights and privileges of a State, but shall not be allowed to have either Electors for President, nor Keys in Parliament.

C) A Territory shall be admitted as a State only upon the invitation by the President, the Chancellor or a Consul and the consent of Parliament by a majority vote. No nation or Territory shall be admitted into the Federation who have; Godmoded unrepentantly; Have used more than five nuclear weapons in three years; has demonstrated other actives which place a shadow on their long term survival (or upon the player’s judgement)

"Hmm, well the Calarcian Paradim is such that you can join by purchasing any territory under the control of the Privy Council to meet the first requirements. That means that all your nation has to do is buy a nice bit of land here in Port Olympus for your embassy and then you and your nation can be admitted as a territory..."

She paused for a moment, "What you need to become a State is an invititation from the President, or myself and then a vote in Parliament to admit you. As for the nuclear weapons buisness I think your present usage would be considered one event. But I will have to discuss it with the Keys if they see it as such...more than likely...."

"I've tended only to invite in Territories who have made the proper adjustements to their constitution to set up mechanisms to select their Keys and their Electors. Really we don't care how you select them, just that you do. But the vote might be tricky, your seen as an enemy by Dyelli Beybi who can influence the Terran Sphere and Jiggady's against you. Vrak may vote on your side, I doubt if the Durakians will...But both the Dual Duchies and Confederation of Lords will support the newest member of our dynasty and likely buy off both Rouge and Southern Jiggady if needed...."

The last statement was obvious, Gabrielle had to marry William for them to even have a chance at gaining statehood within the Federation. .

Lord Harrington nodded as he listened to Victoria. "I am empowered to make such a purchase as soon as possible. As far as our use of nuclear weapons is concerned, it was in direct defense of our national territory against an overpowering enemy. That enemy would have defeated us in the end without the help of the Lords of War and Vrak, and your nations aid as helped millions of my people already. I hope that our use of nuclear weapons in this instance can be viewed as the desperate measure and one time event that it was."

He sighed and sipped his drink. "As far as my nation entering as a state is concerned. That of course requires my niece to marry your nephew. I know Gabrielle will do her duty, and hopefully, it will be more than that as the years progress. It would seem a good match in any case. Their children should be most formidable some day."

He pondered how the entire keys issue could be handled. "I will have to talk to the Senate and Assembly leaders about how Keys could determined. However, the Queen's prestige, and to a lesser extent, my prestige, gives me a lot of leverage with the leadership. I am confident a reasonable solution can be quickly found.

I am not sure how to win Dyelli Byebi over to the idea. Your point is well taken concerning them. My hope is that they see New Shiron as potentially valuable allies that offset the bad blood that developed between our nations."

I think your Ambassador is still in the room isn't he? I will have to review the other thread to make sure

OOC: Er, no we happen to be at the Landgravine's residence not the New Palace...and I expect the ambassador wandered back home after the original discussion.

IC: Victoria nodded, "Well yes, although the Deyllians will likely need to be bought off with either technology transfers or cash. For a group of socialists they are quite greedy and pirate like. As for a territorial purchase, really we only need to sell you a bit of land in Port Olympus, or would you prefer something a bit more substantial?"

Lord Harrington nodded. "A bit of land in Port Olympus would be enough for us right now, cash is a bit short since the war. As for the Deyllians, technology transfer is certainly amenable to us.

As far as the happy couple is concerned, I think a public announcement would be in order, with a date for the engagement to follow later and a wedding date to be announced at the engagement. It will make the media happy. They love a good story."

(Human difficulties resolved...beware the flu this season...it is quite nasty)

OOC: Port Olympus is sort of an 'open' city...you can use it as a member of the Klatch at any time you desire or need...just stay in the parameters...
Port Olympus is a cross between Rome (Five Hills), Venice, and Ank-Morph (internal city politics...) The Southern Part is like Venice the northern half the city center is surrounded by a group of hills the form a bowl.

I'll let you decide where to "buy" the house and what it looks like.
IC post pending...

New Shiron would go for something on one of the hills... Regina, the capital of New Shiron, is a hilly city that encircles a large lake, so it would more homelike on a hill.

had the flu myself this year.... most unpleasant

New Shiron would buy sufficient land for a relatively large house and relevent extra room for entertaining, plus attached bungalows for the Keys... (British Colonial style house, going for the understated expensive look, with a lot of unobtrusive security measures).

In addition, New Shiron would rent a 5 story office building to house offices with a parking garage. Cars and other vehicles rented from the local economy for the most part. A platoon of the Royal Guard is assigned for honor and security duties and is housed at the Residence.

One of the nicer hotels would be approached about permanently renting several large suites for VIPs from New Shiron as well.
