This is the first military starship I am planning to have go into production for Mirfak's Labule (star forces), currently scheduled for commissioning at about the time Mirfak reaches a population of 100,000,000. Please take the time to look over the specifications and come forward with any input you have. My goal is to be called a godmoder by as few people as possible when this thing launches, so if you have a problem with it please let me know so we can work something out. Please also note that these specifications are not final and may change slightly before launch.

Gel class (assault ship): $10,000,000,000
The Gel is the Labule’s mainstay in close ship-to-ship combat. Excelling far beyond galactic standards in speed and maneuverability, its defense shields and accommodations fail in comparison. It compensates for its lack of shields with laser cannons, which it uses primarily to shoot down enemy missiles, torpedoes, and mines, but can also be used with significant effect against enemy starships. Its main weapon is the powerful forward-mounted antiproton cannon, which can be used with great effect both offensively and defensively, though it has a very limited rate of fire. The Gel carries no hoksas, making it more defensively vulnerable in planespace.

seems like a good light unit, though i wonder if its a little under armed and 20 days is a little low on endurance unless its for system defense

Well, it actually has fairly long distance range considering the speed at which planespace allows it to travel. As for being under-armed, it is. The antiproton cannon is very potent, but it's meant to be a rather skimpy craft. Its strength is in its dexterity. Keep in mind that the Gel is being developed to work as a unit with the other ships being developed by ATDB. The Labule will operate on a principle of using different ships that do certain things very well and using them together to combat an enemy. Though they can certainly fight alone, their strength will be in their diversity. But that's all to come later. For now, more comments on this ship.

This is a fine example of a early patrol ship, and mabey even a swarm ship when you start building capital ships. Maximizing its speed capabilities would be your best bet on the battlefield, obviously. I also feel that this is a great general-purpose unit for now. Perhaps a later version could be a tad larger and better armed?

I have no later versions currently planned for this unit, though some minor upgrades may happen. What you see now is probably what you'll get though. It's so small, there's not a lot of room aboard for extra stuff. However, this battleship, which will probably be making its debut in the 200 million population range, will function similarly, but have 2-3 antiproton cannons, multiple laser cannons, and possibly a limited hoksa complement; along with much-improved range, shields, and all around capability. It'll be less maneuverable though. It'll be a big cousin of the Gel, if you will.

Intresting though the FTL speed is a little high ...

OOC: oooo Martian Sucessor Nadesico ships *claws*

Pretty good, keep it up.

OOC: Not bad...could you give me a link to your entire fleet specifics? I'd like to view what this kind of ships will be working with your new class.

The Fedral Union: Yeah, I know. Since I'm basing this off a TV series though, I wanted to maintain some continuity. It might drop a bit, but it'll still be pretty dang high.

Midlonia: Seikai Trilogy, actually. Thank you.

Thrashia: This is the first ship I've done. No specifics on the rest yet. Pictures of what I have so far are in this album (http://img29.photobucket.com/albums/v88/Zorak950/NS/) though, if you care to look.
