December, 23rd, 2004; Auburn -- Auburn Uni Ambassador to the United Nations, Dr. Fredric Zelazo, announced today that, after many delays, the Government of Wellness and Respect (GWAR) was installed this afternoon in Auburn. "Today marks an historic turning point in our nation’s history," the Ambassador said. "The formation of this government signals a new beginning of partnership in peace, reconciliation and governance. No longer are we a nation divided."

Members of the GWAR assumed office today in a ceremony witnessed by over fifty thousand citizens, held in Toomer's Corner. At the celebration afterwards, President Alexander Rubin Cottingham told the assembled dignitaries and citizens alike that the formation of the GWAR was a fundamental step in a long and difficult process of restoring peace and reconciliation to the country. "War will no longer ravage our lands, the scourge has been wiped clean; we shall no longer be a nation of two parts, but one that relies upon solidarity."

Under the Auburn Uni Restructuring Act, JUST has four ministers and seven vice ministers in the new government as well as numerous provincial government officials. On Wednesday, December 22nd, 70 JUST deputies took their seats in the National Assembly. Unfortunately absent from the historic event was previous leader, Terry Bowden. "The Government deeply regrets that Mr. Bowden did not feel that he could travel to Auburn to attend the ceremony, but we hope that he will soon return to the capital in his new capacity as president of the largest opposition party," Ambassador Zelazo said.

The new government will face many challenges as it seeks to complete all the remaining tasks outlined in the peace accords. Expansion of State Administration throughout the country will be a first order of business for the new government as will the demobilization of thousands of ex-combatants. Ambassador Zelazo expressed his confidence in the new government’s ability to move forward on these and other outstanding issues. "While much work remains to be done, we will build upon this foundation established today to ensure an end to old animosities and to revitalize our economy."
