John Bobaganeusch reporting

Today, general plans for a super battle-station were released and promptly covered up. All htose who viewed the plans have been rounded up and "motivated" to not speak. It is rumored that this battle-station could destroy an entire planet and there is a series of them to be built.

Secret IC

"You have GOT to be kidding me Joe...did that idiot actuallly release the plans for the Death Star?" President Kowalski screamed at the Commandant of the Marine Corps, his brother Joe.

"Yeah Mike...they did. However, they have nothing about the fold-space drives and the new super lasers. They won't know of our speed and lethality."

"Yeah, speaking of that, what's the specs on it?" the President asked.

"Here's the only file on it. The whole thing is 120 klicks in diameter, 50 foot of solid neutronium for the outer shell, 86 decks, 400 sublevels on each deck, an excessively powerful 15,000,000,000,000,000,000 watt fusion reactor which can all go to the super-laser."

"JESUS! Does it need that much power?"

"You'd be suprised what we can do. That thing will take out anything previously made and there will be at least three built."

"How much of the research budget will it cost?"

"All of it for the next ten years, plus some black ops stuff, and CMDC's entire profits for the next twenty years."

"Big hole...big rewards. I'll approve it if you can give me a good deadline."

"How about within nine years for the first one and seven years for the next few?"

"Good. Here's the funding......"

The two brothers begin to laugh as they scheme on how to take over the Empire.

OOC: I'm planning a super Death Star. The old one will look like a SSD compared to an ISD.

Here's some rough stats:
Vessel Type: Deep-space mobile battle station
Primary Designer: Bevel Lemelisk
Conceived and Supervised By: Commandant Joe Kowalski
Construction Site: Planetary orbit, outer-Planetary research areas, Space Docks
Crew: Only 300,000 thanks to a new AI series to aid in the manning
Diameter: 120,000 meters (equivalent to a Class IV moon)
Maximum Speed: 12c due to the new drive
Superlaser Range: 47,060,000 kilometers
Fuel: Compressed stellar hydrogen
Surface Weapons: Turbolaser batteries (5,000); Heavy turbolaser batteries (5,000); Laser cannons (2,500); Ion cannons (2,500); Tractor beam emplacements (768)
Armor: Deflector shields and 50 feet of pure neutronium.

"Sir, you're not going to believe what someone smuggled out of Crazed Marines," Orbez said.

"We have operatives in Crazed Marines? Why wasn't I told this?" Enigma asked.

"We don't. A member of Crazed Marines managed to escape in a craft and came across one of our battlecruisers. He sent them an electronic transmission with the files in and then sped off. Two minutes later his ship had a collision with a few of their mines. We have yet to see evidence CM even noticed. You want to know what it was?" Orbez asked.

"Sure. It's not exactly like we'll be actually doing anything against it. Besides, we can send the files back to them after this. No point in even keeping copies of it," Enigma said.

He walked over to a computer terminal built into the wall of his throneroom and accessed the file, blinking three times as he looked at it. This was not what he expected, but he wasn't surprised. A Death Star was not beyond their capacity by any stretch of the imagination.

"This looks top secret. How did we decode this?" Enigma asked.

"We didn't. Some mejnot in their government released the file to the public. By all signs they've covered it up all but four copies. We're one of the three nations who got lucky enough to get one of the copies," Orbez said.

"Wait, you said there were four copies. What happened to the fourth?"

"The ship carrying it had an engine failure and entered Earth's atmosphere. From the crater size, there are no worries of anyone getting that one. Our ships did not get a chance to get a good enough look at who got the other two copies, but we can assume CM knows who they are."

"Say, that type of cannon... Didn't we develop a defense against it?"

"You're refering to the Continuity Error Cannon, sir?"

"Ye... no! You've been watching too much EBN. I meant something else."

"Sir, I think you're referring to the Sarkarasetan energy-dispursing field they used to protect planets. Are you alright? Your memory is usually perfect."

"Part of my programming was to make me have trouble recalling something once in awhile. Makes me seem more natural. Contact CM and let them know they have a leak. Send them this file and purge all other copies of it from our records. We can at least make sure this one is out of circulation."

"DLE has a copy? HOW THE F*CK ARE WE GONNA' GET THIS THING UNDER WRAPS IF ONE OF OUR ALLIES GETS THE PLANS!" Mike Kowalski screamed.

"They're purging their databases of this and sendng us the plans back. I have also recieved a transmission stating that they have a weapon that can deflect our lasers, but not of this magnitude." the Secretary of Defense stated.

"Ok, so we can still vape anything because of the rediculously powered lasers?"

"Yes sir."

"Good. Those copies were for the Masakis, our hsipyards, Crystal Ireland, and New Exodus. Get them the copies and make sure that that shutle is utterly destroyed. Have RailSat 1 drop a nuke on it to make sure."

"Yes Mr. President."

"Sir, I sent the communication and, except for the copy Tos is trying to hold on to, all copies are purged. I've currently threatening Tos with being brought to trial for treason, so he should cave within a couple of minutes. I also told them we have something to protect against lasers," Orbez said.

"You hinted to them we're developping graviton shields? What were you thinking?!?" Enigma asked, his voice raising in anger.

"We got one of their secrets, they have one of ours. It's not like it'll do them any good. The lasers they're likely to use on our ships will penetrate those shields anyway, and we certainly can't protect against that beam of death Death Stars fire. If the Sarkarasetans hadn't lost their technology so long ago, we'd still be able to protect against such beams," Orbez said.

"I really wish you wouldn't refer to your ancestors that way. Let CM know we are willing to help track down any errant shuttles with certainly inflammatory and totally false documents indicating they are building a Death Star," Enigma said.

"Will do, sir. Oh, one of the scouts just reported they had a launch malfunction and accidentally dropped a nuke on the crater where that one shuttle hit. Seems anything that might have survived is definitely destroyed," Orbez said.

"Pity they lost a nuke due to a malfunction. I'm sure they'll fix it. No need to mention anything to them about it," Enigma said.

OOC: Your planned Death Stars are the same diameter as the second Death Star in the SW films, incase you wanted it to be overbearingly bigger. [/knows too much about Star Wars]

No, I met a kid that knew the exact dimensions of every Imperial Ship. You just know an excessive amount.

PS- this isn't spam, just long...May as well be creative.

OOC: I don't know whether I pity or envy that guy.

But back on topic....

More or less, it's like the second Death Star with better shields and lasers and nothing to harm it except an attack from the inside. I hope y'all like it :)

OOC: This is six years after the first post and right at the time of the Tekenesis V battle in the 2nd Jedi Academy thread.

"President Kowalski. This just in from Project Black Book." a top aide came in

"THE SDS'?" the Presidnet exclaimed in shock and possible horror of a project so long ago covered.

"Yes sir. Its still sealed."

"You're dismissed. Thank you." The aide left and the President put his thumb on the pad and had his retina scanned. All cleared out and the neon-red file opened. He saw three reports, all dated back some time and one had a coffee stain on it. Somewhere between the Dumpsterdam War and a couple of others, these had gotten lost and shoved in this one file. Apparently, SDS1 had too much neutronium armor and collapsed. They put graviton shields on SDS2 and it collapsed and exploded like a small super nova. Number three was being built as he was reading this, and it had 50 feet of neutronium [b]impreginated[/i] Druasteel. They had to scratch the pure neutronium because it caused a black hole everytime it moved. SDS3 would be complete in three years, ahead of schedule and behind budget. Typical of Military work everywhere.

bump and ooc update: one year to completion

An aide walked into the Oval Office and began, "President Kowalski...you asked for an update on this project. The SDS is complete and fully manned. The spike in recruiting after the rebelliongave us an influx of Space Forces, so we could meet the 300,000 man requirement for this weapon. Everyone lso has a chip implanted in their head which will prevent them of talking to someone who does not have a similar chip or is on a certain database. This chip degrades after five years, andthere will be no permament damage."

"Good, have all those chips degrade now. That is too large to conceal, so we shall be open about it. Prepare a press release and tell the entire galaxy about this...but also tell them that it will not be used as a first-strike weapon and ill be shelfed unless provoked into proper usage. Also include a copy of the weapon's first orders, which is to destroy a planet with no sentient life and a hostile atmosphere to most lifeforms. Got that?"

"Understood. Anything else?"

"Yes, station it near the Omega Site."

"Omega site?"

"You know, that planet we terraformed halfway to Core Worlds..."

"Oh yeah...I remember now. Anything else?"

"We need to build a similar land-based weapon for our own defense."

"It shall be done." The aide said as he left.

OOC: 1 - 1.5e19W is nowhere near enough power to blow up a planet. You could depopulate one, given time, but not blow it up.
2 - The Star Wars Technical Journal speed listing for the Death Star is abominable. 1.2c, as it listed, would mean that you'd have to spend over three years getting from the Sun to the nearest other star. 12c isn't that much better.
3 - Death Stars are so last decade.

OC: points well taken...now for the rebuff
1) That was one of the original requirements. This new one is about 100 times stronger now because of condensation of the laser.
2) That's the hyperdrive. We've improved it in the SDSmk3 (the actual one) and have also included a gravity well/ skip drive.
3) Maybe, but we'll see
