The cargo vessel emerged four minutes ago into the Sol System from planespace on autopilot, and now continues on its course with no apparent sign of what is supposed to be a fifteen-person crew. Several system traffic control stations from various nations have failed to raise anyone aboard and scans for lifesigns are all inconclusive. The ship, Hinek, an unshielded, weaponless freighter registered to VikanOts, an arms manufacturing corporation based in the Republic of Mirfak (Mirfak System, Mirfak III), drifts in the general direction of Earth. It is not completely silent however, and transmits an automated-sounding message on an open channel.
"Tel tasin colsak Hinekal sashal obkas. Inkkeal ulili nilarkal to enli sashu. Quelakios eliv zinel pelal teparkal colsaki."
The message repeats itself over and over, harassing nearby ships for their attention.

Mean wile on the UFS Excalibur ,

Admiral Maxwell Forrest sat in his command chair sighing looking over reports , he looked over to ops who was slowly taping on his flashing console . Forrest said “ Ops scan the area for any unusual anomalies o and what not .”

The operations officer said “yes sir “ he tapped a few buttons rather briskly and quickly starting to scan .

The operations officer looked at his results there was a husk of a ship it appeared in the area , he looked over to Forrest and said “sir I’m detecting a ship in the area it seems to be powered down its not moving ,looks like its adrift “
Forrest looked at the ops officer drinking from his large metallic thermos with a star fleet symbol on it as officers worked in the back round briskly running back and forth, he said “ hmm helm set a course to intercept ..”, the helms men nodded to Forrest and taped buttons quickly his console emitting a beep sound . The Excalibur was revved up its nacelles emitting a bluish glow the ship rumbled as it whooshed in to warp particles fallowing behind it in to sub space … a few moments later the large ship emerged from warp its Sauer section looming over the un known ship.

Admiral Maxwell Forrest looked over to ops and said “what’s up with it ?” ,the operations officer squinted a bit and said its transmitting a message we cant make out the language or translate it yet .. .
Forrest looked over to ops and said as the background was filled with working officers rushing around. He said “Open the channel lets hear it ..” with that the ops officer taped buttons madly opening the channel the message filtering threw, Ops sighed a bit “Well .. I cant make any thing of it … “Forrest looked at him and said “is there any thing prohibiting us from beaming over?” Ops said “no t that I can tell sir “

Forrest sighed and said “all right then, we’ll meet in 0500 hours and beam over” the other officers nodded.

Admiral Maxwell Forrest sighed a bit and shuffled with his away team towards the turbo lift he called out” deck 8 transporters room” with that the large turbo lift whooshed down maniacal sounds filling the lift , he looked around as the lift came to a stop the droops whooshing open. He nodded to his team as they went over to the armoury first shuffling along the carpet .

Forrest wandered in to the armoury and picked up several things ,included were Armour (looks like SW Clone warrior armour ) , a phaser rifle (type IIIa ), a type II phaser and a ,MACO Plasma pulse rifle . with that the others picked up the same but an engineer picked up a heavy engineering kit .

After that they all shuffled to the transporters room Forrest nodded to the petty officer and taped on to the pad looking a bit tense the transporters room semi lively with activity , people taping consoles every place.

With that the entire team was shimmered over to the ship .. blue particles shimmered out as they were disassembled , they shimmered on to the ships large blue light assembling the particles right on the ship.

The Excalibur's away team materializes in a narrow, silent, poorly-lit corridor stretching from the front of the vessel all the way to the back. The walls are blank and unadorned. Doors run along each side, and larger portals provide access to rooms at both ends of the passage. The ship's computer responds to the entry by cutting off its external transmission and addressing the boarders from speakers at both ends of the hall. The volume is quite loud, and the young, emotionless male voice of the computer carries well through the otherwise-deserted hall accompanied by an alarm noise. "Okinal jenel. Okinal jenel. Quelel bekelios cili."

The away team looked around , Forrest said “Engineering what did we do , it seemed we tripped an alarm!”, the CENG looked back at forest saying “if I can get to the engineering section or computer core I can shut this off, ill try to use the UT to translate the words.

With that the CENG bolted form corridor to corridor trying to find the engineering section Forrest and his team started clanking up the corridor ..

Forrest was a bit uneasy about being on the ship so was most of the away team his team about 3 people continued to walk up.

They entered a room and started to scan around it with there tricorders, the rest of the team started to look for any computer terminals , to gather any useful information about the ship .

It doesn't take long to figure out the configuration of the ship. Most of the smaller doors lead to crew quarters or minor machine rooms, and the two rearmost doors each lead to an access hatch to the cargo holds below. The large door at the rear of the corridor provides access to the ship's engine room and computer core, and the large door at the front leads onto the small, three-person bridge. All seems to be normal and in its place; the crew are simply missing. There are many technical readouts and logs in both command centers, but they are indecipherable. Several dataports are present on the computer core, and could perhaps be used to "teach" the away team's universal translators to decipher the foreign language, but they could just as well cause some unmitigated catastrophy. The computer meanwhile continues insistently, "Okinal jenel. Quelel bekelios cili."

The CNEG walks towards the engine room he looked around and clanked towards the computer core , he taped the UT the adapted it to fit the data ports, he sighed wile downloading things from it trying to tach the UT to read it .

Mean wile forest and his team looked around they started taping the consoles tyring to find the logs , a few crew members looked over there pads , forest said “were the hell are all the crew it seems , they just vanished” one of the officers was he was clanking over looking around the eerily quiet bridge said “well it seems there isn’t any evidence of attack … or so forth “..

OCC:I'l give it a try to.

IC:Rob Pulson woke suddenly as a message blared over the loudspeakers of his ship, Eve. It was either Garbled or in some dialect that he did not know, because he could not understand a word of it. Rob jumped up and hopped into the pilots seat of his ship and looked for the source of the message. There! A small frigate.

"Eve, scan for life." The ship's incredibly advanced AI responded in less then a second.

"No life signs found."

Rob frowned. No one aboard? How odd. He manuvered Eve a little closer to the frigate, still keeping his distance. A large Fedral Union ship was also in the area. Eve herself was armed to the max-A large laser cannon and electric ram on her front, dual rail guns on her side, and a half-dozen mine tubes. Her AI was almost seemed human, and the ship could hold her own against much larger ships with no pilot, thanks to an extra pair of hidden repulsor engines in her back.

Rob was a gunrunner-Half Bounty Hunter, Half Smuggler. Usally he worked on the side of the law but he had had his share of running from the law as well. At the moment he was torn between simply leaving or boarding the ship to see if he could loot any goods off of it. No doubt the Federal Union already had a team aboard, and running into them was not something that he wanted to risk. But then, the lure of untold treasures dragged him back in. He sighed and made up his mind.

"Eve, Beam me to that ship. I'm going to go see what we can get off it." Rob pressed a red button on the ship's control panel; a panel slid back, revealing his weapons. He was old fashioned-He carried a Patriot SubMachine Gun, sometimes reffered to as a double Tommy Gun, with two clips on either side of the barrel instead of one beneath. It was a weapon dating back to the 1960's. Ancient by todays standards, Rob had made a few ajustments to it.

The bullets were Anti-Armor and filled with a small amount of plasma-enough to get through most modern day body armor with enough shots. His other weapon was a more powerful 454. Casull revolver that was loaded with heavy explosive bullets that was more than enough to get through any armor. He also carried a combat machete, although he rarely had a chance to use it. Rob's armor was non existent-he wore a leather jacket and slacks. He relied on speed rather than armor.

He stood on his transporter and closed his eyes.

"Ok, Eve, Beam me!"

Rob shimmered for a moment before disappearing, his atoms wisked away to the Hinek.

CENG >+T+ Forest “I translated the language it is an alarm ..!” forest sighed in relief as he was looking over some logs from the ship in his padd , pacing around clanking on the metal ground “ that’s a relief I thought it was a self destruct message can you shut it off?”.

the crew looked at him oddly but went on wit there work ,

the CENG said over the com as he was trying to figure out how to shut the alarm off ,“I’m trying to find the console that controls basic ship functions if its not here it should be on the bridge,” forest nodded as he walked over to the front of the bridge “we’ll keep looking up here”.

One of the officer scanned around with his tricorder and said briskly and suddenly “sir were detecting another life form on the ship ,it just appeared in the same area we were “.

Forest looked over and said you and gradinco go find out who the hell is over there .. ill stay here with Hamilton, Yes sir “the 2 officer said snapping to attention “. OOC: Thanks for letting me in.

IC: "Tell me again why we're going to Sol." An annoyed and tired voice asked, it's owner hidden behind a console.

"Because one of OISI's listening posts picked something interesting up." The second voice was frustrated, and belonged to man wearing lieutenant stripes on his black naval uniform. The name Edwards, was emblazoned on his left breast. "And they, being the near omnipresent wannabe omniscient spooks they are got command to send us out here."

"Oh right. Doesn't make sense though, we haven't had any major interests in Sol for hundreds of years." The other voice said. The owner stepped from behind the console, a young woman, a mere ensign, she was Helen Juxton, the daughter of former Prime Minister Harold Juxton.

"And yet here we are. Got anything on the scopes?" Edwards asked as he finished his calculations for a least fuel trajectory towards the OISI listening buoy.

"Nothing besides youre normal... wait there's a rather large concentration of ships at seventy-five degrees relative and 45 degrees ascension. One of them's broadcasting continuosly."

"That's probably what they OISI buoy picked up. Go get our marine passengers rallied up. I'll ask for some info." Juxton nodded and headed back to the marine section of the small corvette. Edwards activated his mike and keyed for a broadband signal, "This is the XNV Iquanadon and we're late for the pary. Any one care to fill us in?"

Rob Materialized in a long dark corridor and quickly looked around, trying to distingush if there was anyone there. He pulled out his Patriot and wondered which way the Bridge was. He decided to take a chance and turned left, checking doors as he went. Another message was being shouted out of the ship's intercom; Rob still couldn't understand it.

Rob was unsure if anyone else was on the ship, But he was quite sure that The Federal Union had men either on board or coming on board very soon. He checked his guns and moved farther down the hall. He turned another corner and heard the soft Clink of metal. He was in an four-way intersection. Rob whirled each way, aiming the Patriot down the numerous passageways.

"Is there anyone there?" He asked the darkness Quietly. No answer. Either there was no one there, or whoever was there didn't want to Answer. Rob wondered if there were TFU troopers about. His eyes narrowed and he turned right, continuing to look for the bridge.

"All right there's been no response. I'm going to dock." Edwards said, he engaged the thrusters and brought the Iquanadon closer to the drifting ship. He found a docking port and brought the corvette close. Electromagnetic grapplers launched and grabbed the hull of the ship, a soft tube extended to grapple the docking port. A green light winked on when the connection was confirmed.

"All right, we're linked. Juxton, take the marines and see what's going on in there. Be careful."

"Roger sir." Juxton replied from the air lock. She turned to face the marines, two in standard vacuum body armour and one in a Hercules powerd armour suit. The spooks must really be suspicious to send him along, she thought. "You heard the Lieutenant, lets go inside."

The marines took point floating down the access tube to the ships hull. The took out charges to burn through the access door, but it opened for them when the got close. The marine in the powered armor, Sergeant Steve Stacker with his special Marine issue BR-767 SAW carbine went in first, followed quickly by the other marines, Private First Class Lance Cooper and Corporal Vanessa Sanchez with BR-747 carbines. Juxton entered the ship last being the most vulnerable in only her uniform sealed against vacuum and armed with a BG-727 Sub-machine gun.

"There's no immediate activity sir. Just a computer voice over the ships intercom. I've set the Iquanadon's computer to try to translate it." Stacker said through the radio. "My suits sensors say the atmosphere is breathable, but it can't detect unknown toxins. I suggest we remain in our suits."

"I agree Sergeant. Let's move out, see what we can find." Juxton said. The small party head off down the corridor, towards the bow of the ship.

"I hope it's not a timed warning." Cooper said worried, "You know something like 'Welcome aboard, prepare to die'."

"Suck it up private. This is a cakewalk compared to basic." Sanchez put in.

"Cut the chatter, we're coming up on something." Stacker said, signaling everyone to slow down. He looked around the corner and saw several people. He raised his weapon to a defensive posture and stepped around the bend. "I'm Sergeant Steve Stacker with the Xessmithian Marine Corps, who are you?"

OOC: Last post of the night for me.

IC: Helen Juxton was the last of the party to enter the bridge. There were officers spread around the room, they weren't doing much that she could see. One of them was busy talking to a console, Must have an interactive AI, she thought.

The marines took up stations near the entrance, they had a clear line of sight on everybody. Juxton walked over to Pulson, Better to stick with known values she thought, with her SMG slung under her arm. "Got a better idea of what's going on here yet?"

The CENG mean wile was clanking along back towards the computer core after finishing his scan , Then started working on accessing all the information he could about weapons and what not .

Meanwhile Stacker was surveying the room, besides their escort, Rob Pulson, there were several other armed people in the room. He kept an eye on them, they hadn't done anything to suggest they were hostile. But something just didn't feel right about this ship, Crews don't just disappear something makes them disappear, he thought. "Cooper, Sanchez, I've got the bridge covered, you two watch our six."

"Roger sir." The two marines replied in unison and took up defensive positions in the corridor.

The log, a text entry, comes up on the console Forest is using. It is dated the previous day and reads as follows when translated on his tricorder.
"Log of the V.O.S. Hinek, November 3, 2808, 1600 hours. Captain Toldor Senii reporting.
The Hinek has left the Mirfak System and is now cruising through planespace on autopilot. Our E.T.A. to the Sol System is just over one day. Our cargo this time is laser rifles; about 400 of them total. All systems are normal and the crew is looking forward to our arrival. Rob rubbed his temples in frustration. He walked towards the Federal Union commander and tapped him on his shoulder.

"Look, I have no idea what's going on here. What is the computer saying?"

The officers tells him of his conversation with the computer, including the bit about the cargo and the deactivated Recording devices. The cargo part made Rob very happy indeed. He decided to go check on the shipment; Hopefully he could snag something of value while he was there.

"I'm going to go check out that cargo." Rob adressed the entire group as he walked out of the bridge and back into the farmiliar dark hallway.

"Feel free to come with me if anybody wants to." He smiled and waved, then went searching for the cargo bay. It took a few minutes, but he eventually found it. Rob pushed the Open button, and the door hissed upwards. He stepped inside...

The lift decends into the dimly-lit, utilitarian starboard cargo bay, where Rob finds the ship's cargo untouched, still awaiting delivery to its destination. The pulse laser rifles, about 200 of them in this room, are of mediocre quality, and like most Mirfakan technology fairly basic. That said though, a laser rifle is a laser rifle, and though these are not the most powerful, accurate, or light of their kind, they're perfectly capable of killing and destroying with the best of them.

"These guns," Rob said to himself as he threw the rifle back on it's rack, "Are complete and udder crap, at least compared to what I have. Who would want weapons like this, especially when you could get guns twice as good at this for a helluva lot cheaper...."

He shook his head and walked out of the cargo bay and back into the bridge.

"Well, the laser rifles are all there," Rob said to the rest of the group. "I can't imagine why anyone would want them, but We should probably try to find out."

He frowned.

"Well, I don't know how to pilot this thing at all, but we should probably head to that Supply Station Seventeen. Forest, could you pull up a star map, please?"

The Hinek doesn't get the chance to answer any more questions. Following Forest's directions, it accellerates back on course. The sudden movement relative to the Xessmithian ship rips off the other vessel's docking arm and sends both ships reeling. The Hinek itself, with no more damage than a few stressed hull plates around the docking hatch, shuts off all control systems. Airlocks slam shut on the main hatch where the Xessmithian vessel had been docked and all along the main hallway, seperating the crews with walls of thick titanium. The AI reports, "Jinel. Jinel.
