New Class of Ship Released into Service! {Future Tech}

With the Parlimian Navy’s continued growth, a niche was found that has yet to be filled. In abroad, or deep space operations, there have yet to be a suitable vessel designed for the role of a command ship. Thus, military technicians have been hard at work designing a ship large enough to assume a command role, yet armed heavily enough to perform well in extreme proximity to the front lines.

The result looks to be a stunning success, as the prototype vessel has just been completed. While much of the design is still classified (many new technologies were developed in unison with this project), the Parlimian Navy, with the consent of the President, have decided to make the majority of the schematic available to the public, and most notably, to the heads of other spacefaring nations. It is planned to build five of these ships, to head up each of the fleets, but production may be cut to just three, as they are in no sense, according to official Naval sources, cheap. The ship, the Monarch class, looks to have a proud future.

”Monarch” Class Command Ship/Super Heavy Battleship

Length: 16,354 meters

Width: 1,291 meters

Primary Armaments (Secondary Weapons are too Numerous to List):

x3 Triple-Barrel Type “F” Laser Cannons (Two on upper deck, one below)
x5 Triple-Barrel Type “E” Laser Cannons (Three above, two below)
x3 “Railgun” Delayed Explosion Bombardment Weapons (Two above, one below)

Railguns are the newest weapons to be employed in the Navy, whom principally relies on energy weapons. They fire an explosive projectile that is meant to puncture an enemy ship’s armor, lay dormant inside for a short amount of time (five minutes), then explode.

Armor

Primary: Classified

Secondary: 60.96 cm Ablative Hull Armor

Ablative Armor is yet another project that evolved with the Monarch. It is basically a “gloss” of sorts, over the primary armor. When struck by an energy, or kinetic weapon, the shock is spread over an area of the armor, and a small layer of it dissolves, creating a cloud that disrupts targeting sensors.

Ablative Armor, however, is in no way permanent. After a long battle, it is likely that most of it would be dissolved, so a ship would need to return to port for another layer of “gloss”. It is not a needed function, though, as the primary armor is more than capable of serving by itself.

Shields: Primary, Secondary, and Backup Sheilds. All Heavy, for maximum protection.

Compliment:

16,701 General Crew
4,213 Officers
150 Strategic Command Personnel
2,000 Marines

Aircraft: The Monarch is the sole capitol ship that does not carry aircraft, or space fighters of any kind. This is supplemented by the fact that it carries many more anti-aircraft weapons than the average ship.

Other: The bridge “hanging” beneath the ship is actually a large command suite, with all the facilities needed in a fleetwide operation, including advanced communications, sensor, strategical, and intelligence arrays. Everything a Strat Officer needs to maneuver the fleet. It is heavily armored and shielded.

"Emperor Shadaum would like to express his great like for this new ship class. I myself am building up my fleet and hope it may one day be able to stand such odds as will be faced by your enemies against such ships."
