Description: The NIAR Supra #51 was the first Supra taken on by Northampton Import Automotive Performance Specialties Shop, owned by local street legend and famed Imitoran Robert Fortier. Originally used as a simple technology tester, it quickly evolved into a project car for compitition racing. The current set up is pushing more than 800 horsepower to the rear wheels, and a suspension that turns Nurburgring times in the low sevens. The car started life as a stock 1998 Toyota Supra Non Turbo when Fortier, who often does his own work, dropped in the 2.2 liter motor from an older Toyota Celica. From there, he threw everyting he could think of. Currently, the induction system includes a Twin Trust T88 34D turbocharger set up, 100mm Veilside throttle-body, custom intake manifold/ plenum chamber, Trust type C external wastegate, Trust Profec B EBC, max 1.8bar boost (26psi), Trust three-row air-to-air intercooler, and four auxiliary injectors. Internal block modifications include a Top Secret ported head, HKS metal head gasket, HKS grind cams, HKS adjustable pulleys, heavy duty cam belt, Garage Fukui stroker crank, Garage Fukui stroker rods, and Garage Fukui 2.2-litre pistons. Exuahst, drive train, and other power based modifications are all custom made. The car has won several Imitora GT-Championship races, and the drivers are looking forward for another victory in the GTP serries in Tonnissia.

This car is not only the NIAR number two car, but it is also Fortier's personel mode of transportation. He purchased this Supra after loosing his E46 ///M3 when a high compression turbo overfed the motor, blowing several pistons and literally ripping the block in half. Fortier decided to go with a stronger motor for turbocharging, and picked a high miliage Supra turbo. He purchased a crate 2JZ-GTE, and from there gave it the full HKS treatement. His first step was to use an HKS stroker kit to bore the engine out to 3.4 liters, including crankshaft, rod, and piston work. He ten mounted a full HKS twin GT2835 Turbo setup, including intercooler, HKS SSQV, and manifold. The Exhaust is an HKS Carbon Fiber Racing Muffler and Exhaust with 102mm piping. An HKS Turbo Timer finishes up the package. Handling comes from a custom suspension set up tuned for street/track use, and Fortier claims the Supra can hold, if not surpass, the ///M3 on any twisty style track. His best Nurburgrng time in this Suopra is 7 minutes and 22 seconds. The car has won countless street victories in Imitora, but Robert is hoping to put a legitimate track win under his belt.
