The state of Aerion was one of disturbing stasis that reflected the state of its King. After King Wasterin X had been critically injured in a terrorist attack, into a coma, he had to be placed in a form of medical stasis within a tank. The Lord High Steward had been placed in control of the Grand Kingdom, a large task in this case as he was proclaimed Royal Regent. A terrorist attack upon the Royal Opera House, an explosion, had killed many of the leaders of Aerion industry and business. CEOs, Presidents, and nobility had all been killed including some of the kin of the King himself. This had shook the halls of power, some say even more than the critical injury of the King, but no one made a strong move. People were replaced, yes, but there was a stalemate between the powers that be in Aerion. No one was sure how to move, as the newly proclaimed Royal Regent kept the decadent government together as best as he could. The upper class continued to live in their opulent luxury, but with less social networking as used to be. No longer were the decadent parties and balls that were part of the great age of King Wasterin X. For people lived guarded lives. The atmosphere had slowly been descending into one of distrust, one of unsureness. And as the lower classes continued to toil under their corporate overlords, returning daily to the massive cold apartment blocks within the megacities and small dwellings in the country, there were still rumors that the People’s Liberation Army of Aerion was still on the move, still planning more terrorist attacks, growing in support in the east and still able to carry out their plans despite the massive computerized and robotic surveillance network that observed, categorized, and controlled the Aerion people. The Royal Regent had done nothing to improve international relations, instead he had dropped them completely. Almost sealing off the country as the major news networks ceased to contact the outside, and the borders were strengthened. But now, slowly, people were beginning to cross the border again and there were rumors that interactions might once again occur........
