The Resurgent Dream

As most of those who rp with me much know, most of the fantasy races in my nation have certain innate magical strengths and weaknesses. I try not to press them too hard. I know some people might think some of them are wankish, especially those that effect the mind of the observer. In the whole time I've been here, I've felt they were ignored to the extent that I had to tg the other player (discretely and politely) a grand total of three times, which isn't that many considering the number of threads and players I've interacted with total. Anyway, here's a reference list in case you're unclear on what any of them specifically are.

Strengths: Sidhe give off the impression of being extremely beautiful and of noble. This aura adds to the effect of emotional displays. Sadness is more heartbreaking. Anger is more intimidating. And so on. The beauty is added to their objective appearance after it has been filtered through cultural biases. Thus, for example, an insect raise that found all endotherms disgusting, would find sidhe average in appearance, instead of revolting. A sidhe's 'natural body', meaning the objective, physical appearance to which the magic is added, is normally in tune with the standards of beauty of humans and elves. The effect of nobility is not added to any impression gathered from bearing, etc. but stands alone. A sidhe simply has a noble aura. The extra part of the beauty and the sense of authority are perceived directly without being filtered through custom or taste. Ignoring it is a matter of will. Note that this has no effect on what someone thinks. In fact, if someone does not believe in a sidhe's nobility or hates all meta-humans, the aura is just likely to make them angry with the sidhe for giving an immediate impression so different from what the viewer believes to be the truth of the matter.
Weakness: Sidhe, except Balor, have a far greater weakness to cold iron than any other fae. Merely being in its presence causes them immense pain and harm. Mere wrought iron effects them as cold iron does other fae.

Strengths: Aithu can tell a tale that enthralls an audience. When the aithu uses this gift, the audience listens spellbound. Oba and eshu are entirely immune to this gift. The aithu breaks the spell if he or she attempts to attack the victim. An aithu can also assume an innocent and helpless visage, though they cannot change greatly in height or weight and can still be detected by any scientific identification process such as fingerprints or retina scans.
Weaknesses: An aithu becomes spellbound by the story of another. They will not move or act while the story is being told. After the story is over, the aithu will feel compelled to give the storyteller a gift or token and to return any stolen items of the storyteller's. Other thallain do not set off this effect.

Strengths: May-may-gway-shi have the ability to pass through solid rock. They can move a vehicle as large as a canoe or a motrocycle with them, along with any passengers. They also have the power to summon more ordinary fish to any body of water.
Weaknesses: May-may-gway-shi cannot resist their hunger for fish or shellfish. It takes a supreme effort of will for them to resist the temptation to eat these things, whatever the context.
