Tandu Systems

Earth, somewhere outside the atmosphere
The strangely shaped vessel spiraled out of control, leaving a trail of fuel, air and shortlived flames as it tore through space toward the blue planet. Its three remaining crew members struggled with its controls in a vain attempt to pull it back into a course that might not end in death.
All three Tandu (Sort of large mantids with hands) were missing limbs, either crushed, burned or simply lopped off. Behind them the headless corpse of the ships former captain was walking resolutly into a wall with a steady thump, thump, thump, while greenish blood spurted from its neck.
This was the last refuge on the ship, the rest was vacuume, and while a Tandu COULD survive in a vaccume for some time it was not a pleasant experience, especialy considering the ruptured fuel lines flooding the rear compartments of the spindly scoutship with caustic fuel.
BOOM!!!
The ship shook again, the fuel apparently contacted one of the electrical systems currently fizzing. The one functioning sensor on the ships rear showed its main thrusters plummeting away and breaking up.
The new captain clicked its mandibles in irritation and put the ships fast dwindling power supplies into its shields, possibly that would be enough to keep the ship whole, normally he would attempt to ensure the destruction of the remains of the ship, but this was a special case.
The growing rumble of turbulence shook the ship as it punched through the upper atmosphere toward a hopeful looking lake.
...
Two hours later the crew shook themselves and counted their limbs again, no major damage. They grabbed a pulse rifle each and stepped out into the light of the strange, yellow sun, and would have been wearing slightly worried expressions if their faces had been capable of any such actions.
As it was they clawed up a bank and started to ferry items out of the remains of the ship. The lake was a good deal shallower, and steam still rose from the ships forward section.
The accidents fault had lain with the captain, who was at present attempting to move though a long beam had impaled his abdomen, so a Tandu corpse was now suspended from the ceiling, walking on air, though its movements were now jerky and slow.
The captain had been attempting a manual course correction around a belt of asteroids, generaly unsafe, this belt was rather unpleasant. And sure enough it had steered them directly into an asteroids tail of interstellar detritus, which meant that chunks of rock the size of a Kr'i'thi beast had created a neat series of holes and killed most of the crew.
Leaking fuel and desperate the crew had begun to search for a habitable planet, finding only one they had set out for it, coasting along at near lightspeed, then using their remaining fuel to brake and attempt an orbit before they landed.
The final blow had been the first explosion, throwing off the scoutships course and sending it into a neardeath spiral, killing the captain when the gravity generator started fluctuating, dropping a decorative sword on him, sixteen times.
For now though, the three Tandu settled in, a portable heating unit had been set up after a good meal of some kind of odd furry deer, the skeleton of which was sitting nearby for use later.
OOC:
Basicaly:
The Tandu leader sent a scoutship out in search of other life, bad things happened and it crashed in a country on Earth, feel free to join.
I would prefer if these three didnt die right away befor theres any chance at peacful contact of some kind. The Tandu arent normally friendly to mammels, but a this point these fellows are kind desperate :)
