I was recently pining, as the title says, some of the roleplaying I used to enjoy. Sure, times have changed and my own style and wants of what I write and what I write with others has evolved for the better I think, but my character has been wanting something....to do. For those who do not know whom Kain Shentavo is, this most likely is not for you. A lot of people have been wanting to roleplay with him for a long time I think (got a few T-grams that would suggest that) and I want to let people which I have roleplayed with ages ago to have a chance.

I am up for most ideas, as long as they avoid a couple of cliches. Namely, end of the world stuff, angels and demons coming forth and milling around, random encounters of strangers (oh, hello, I am Alexander and I am on a quest. Care to join me like a IDIOT), bandit raids, people crying for help, people hunting Kain (God damn am I sick of that), and all things which you might accociate with the poorly written video game or movie situation. What I long for is an original roleplay. What I am asking is not a lot, just your ideas into a melting pot. You can involve any of the ideas I just banned (apart from the end of the world thing, angels and demons...) as long as you add a new interesting twist which add spice and make things flow differently.

I am obviously looking for very good roleplayers, who quite possibly have characters which have had some interaction with Kain before. Hell, only one roleplayer would do, if they had a good enough idea and character. What I do not want this to become is a 7 player thing, where I will get confused (I don't do well with huge sprawling rps).

I have worded this very badly, and my request is strange. I just want a decent rp which avoids the cliched bullshit. It is fantasy roleplay by the way, spells etc, although I have adapted to modern more than once. Future pushes it a bit.

Any ideas for a roleplay then?

But I do hope that we can avoid the cliched normal speech and be "normal" to a certain extent, if you understand me. Not in task, but in behaviour.

Want to come tour the dreaming and get caught up in disaster? Or want to open diplomatic relations between our nations? How about a lost crew of people from my nation shipwrecks on yours?

Here, use this to open diplomatic relations. I need people to join! I like your idea for the ships, although Velmora hardly has any ships. If you want to join the party feel free.

In fact, I think the idea of the wrecked ships is a fantastic idea. Kain would not be involved, but rather my more subtle characters, and some new ones. Kain might turn up later.

How about this? A strange island, which seems to draw the ships in through mist and fog, crashes a small Velmorian trade ship. Cargo is mainly lost, and the crew go onto the island. They discover a ship "graveyard" as such, and wonder what the hell is going on. And, incidently, another ship has crashed, from somewhere the Velmora people have never heard of, (apart from one non-Velmorian person, my new character, Ranganarthon, half-man, half-dragon. Very interesting, not too powerful.) and discover they have much in common or whatever. They are attacked by various beasts of the island, and have to find the cause of the attraction etc.

How about something like that?

Hey Velmora, this is GU here. I'm still on vacation, but I suppose the idea we discussed, about Kain and Zero getting together for a spar and a chat, is still on? If so, when I get back, we can play it through.
