The Machine War (open space RP)

OOC: Once my puppet is ressurected, I'll post the Machine Empire posts with it. Anyway, anyone is welcome to join, on either side. I just feel like going to war, even if it isn't with a real player.

IC:
Planet Horath, Gorias System

Several Machine Gearships hovered over the planet. Below, the Imperial forces had leveled most resistance to the invasion. This planet had been an easy victory. Much easier then Triforia, or Aquitar. Or even KO-35. All three of those planets, along with many others, had owned their own space fleet, and had defended their planet well.

But not well enough.

Just like every other time, the Machine forces had been victorious. Possibly it was because machines didn’t feel pain. They didn’t stop fighting when a random body part fell off. And they could be rebuilt. It wasn’t strategy that won wars for the Machine Empire. It was sheer numbers. Numbers that where unquestionably loyal to King Mondo and the entire house of Gadgetry.

General Venjix leaned out of his command balcony on the lead Gearship, watching the planet turn. Biological life forms where so inferior. So chaotic. They could never stop arguing among themselves. It was amusing to watch, but eventually would get tiresome.

A Cog came up to him, and beeped at him in Binary. Cogs where the mainstream of...well, anything in the Machine Empire unless you counted slave labor. They had no gender, and very limited sentience. Only the royalty and officers had genders and free will.

“A message? Well then, play it for me” said the general back to the Cog. It beeped, and shot a projected image out of its eyes onto the wall.

It was King Mondo.

“How goes the invasion?” he asked.

Venjix replied “Quite well. Hathor is now under our complete control. We shall send several specimens of the Hathorians back to our home planet, Garraria”

“Excelent” said the rather roundish, blue robot king. “And I have your next target. Sensors indicate that they control several star systems, and have an impressive sized fleet”

“Good. I like a challange” said the General.

Mondo shook his head “That may be, but I believe you may need assistance in this coming war. A good deal of help. That is why I am sending Generals Automon, Tezzla, Steelon, and Gerrok. And...” Mondo sighed, knowing full well what was about to happen “my son, Prince Gasket”

“GASKET?!” Venjix protested “But sir, you know we cannot get along!”

“You will have to” said Mondo “Or I’ll scrap both of you. And don’t think I won’t”

Venjix sighed “Fine. Where is this target?”

“System J-339. The moon of the first of two planets has a population of 100 million. It is a colony of the so-called “Federation of Atlantis”” said Mondo.

“Yes sir. I shall depart as soon as possible” replied the general.

“I knew I could count on you, Venjix. Keep up the good work” the transmission ended there. Venjix sighed. Not Gasket.....he was an arrogant prick. And he would probably be dragging his damn wife Arachnia along with him. Damn them both......

Citadel Station 7, Maldor, moon of Vanderos, Portas system

“What is it?” asked Commander Kisk. “What was so damn important that you couldn’t have waited until I had woken up?” He was bitter. His sleep had been cut short by a message from the bridge. And what could be happening on a backwater place such as this?

“Sir, 5 large ships have just jumped out of Hyperspace. We’ve tried hailing them, but they aren’t responding. But they are approaching us at full speed” said the first officer.

“We have confirmation. Their weapons are loaded, and locked onto the station” said the Tactical officer.

“What the hell?!” the Commander shouted “Raise shields. Launch all fighters, arm weapons. If it’s a fight they want, then it’s a fight they’ll get!”

The Communications officer turned around to face the Commander “I’m sending a distress signal to the nearest fleet. They’ll be here in an hour”

“They are launching fighters. And they are entering firing range” the Tactical officer reported.

“Still no response to the hails” said the Commiunications officer.

The Commander looked around, then made the order “OPEN FIRE!”

Ruby colored streaks of light burst forth from the station as it fired its main Orcalic Phaser cannons, followed by the yellow bursts of Plasma Cannons. The Manta and Oblisk class fighters followed.

The Machine Quadrafighters dodged the attacks from the station as they opened fire on the incoming Atlantian fighter wings. Several of the station’s beams hit the Gearships. The shields protected them as they responded in kind. Fortunately, the station also had shields. But not even that would protect them as they where overwelmed.

The Tactical officer looked worried “Sir, another ten enemy ships are approaching, and Shields are down to Fifty percent”

“Shit” the Commander muttered. The bridge rocked as the shields went off-line.

“Enemy fighters have disabled our shield generators” said the Tac officer “All Atlantian fighters have been destroyed. They where overwhelmed” The lights went off, and came back on as emergency power come online. “All weapons offline! We’re sitting duc-”

The Tac officer’s seat abruptly exploded, vaporizing him. Outside, the fifteen Gearships opened fire at once. The resulting explosion obliterated the base, killing everyone on-board.

Venjix smiled. He had completed the first objective before Gasket had even arrived. And he had even managed to tap into the Atlantian station’s computer before it was destroyed. While they could not break the higher up encryption codes, Venjix now knew the full extent of the Atlantian Federation, the paths of the Jump Nodes, and the location of the Homeword, Cirrus. It was a good day.

About 40 minutes later, a cloaked Atlantian strike force, the one that had responded to the distress call, entered the Portas system. Seeing the Machine force, and the lack of a Starbase, they quietly retreated, taking the message back to Cirrus.

Senate Halls, Posidopolis, Capital City of Atlantis, Planet Cirrus, Kora system

“WHAT?!” The Senate was in an uproar. People where yelling at each other, throwing accusations, and panicking.

Senator Andromada was getting a headache “Will you all quietly SHUT THE HELL UP?!” Her outburst made the room quiet.

“Thank you” she said “Now, lets try to figure this out in a calm, positive manner” She turned to face Senator Intar. “I believe you where speaking?”

“Yes, I believe I was” he said, standing up “We have been attacked. Therefore, we are obligated to defend ourselves. I say we declare war”

“Declare war on what?” asked Senator Etri “We don’t even know who “they” are!”

Senator Mintar shook his head “Then we need to find out. We need to capture one of their ships”

“And how do you propose we do that?” asked Senator Sing. She raised her eyebrow.

“By boarding it, duh” said Senator Intar.

“We will discuss this matter later on in the meeting” said Andromada “Our main question right now is, do we go to war? Let me see a show of hands”

8 out of the 10 Senators raised their hands.

“Then so be it” said Andromada “We are now at war”

“I say we re-take our system” said Intar. There were nods and whispers of agreement in the room.

“I agree” said Senator Andromada “And is seems as though the majority of the room agrees” She opened a communication link to Admiral Vega.

“Get your fleet together” she said. Vega nodded, and the communication ended there.

Machine Empire Armed Forces

Cog
http://www.rovang.org/wg/pics/cogs.jpg
He most basic robot found in the Empire save the un-sentient janitorial bots, these grunts do most of the dirty work. They build, they fight, they defend, and they serve. They have a limited capacity to think, and live only to serve those higher up on the food chain then them. They have no pride, no interests, and are loyal to the death. They don’t stop fighting when a random body part falls off. Well.....maybe the head. They are equpped with eye lasers, and carry anything from plasma rifles to metal rods into battle.

Quadrafighter/Walker
http://www.rovang.org/wg/pics/quadrafighters.jpg
The Machine Empire have no tanks. And they only have one kind of fighter, which also happens to be a walker. A Mech. These vehicles have the ability to transform from space fighter/bombers to walking towers of destruction that trample anything in their path.

Silos
http://www.rovang.org/wg/pics/silo.jpg
These masive behemoths are actually sentient. They are the heavy artillery of the ground forces, and carry many exploding, expendable weapons.

Gearships
http://www.rovang.org/wg/pics/gearships.jpg
These are the main-stream ships in the fleet. They have a good deal of firepower, and can even connect with each other to form orbital battlestations. Therefore the Machine fleets are, in technecality, mobile starbases.

Races in the Machine Empire pt.1

Varox
http://www.rovang.org/wg/pics/varox-ms.jpg
Partly organic, and partly mechanical, these evil beings welcomed the Machine Forces when they came. They have no real government system. They are mostly bounty hunters and pirates, with a few slave traders mixed in.

Hydro Contaminators
http://www.rovang.org/wg/pics/hydrocontaminator.jpg
Also robotic, they where at war with the Aquitarians before the Machine Empire reached their planet. Like the Varox, they welcomed the Machine presence, who helped them win their war agenst Aquitar.

Aquitarians
http://www.rovang.org/wg/pics/aurico.jpg
They live on a planet 95% water. They need to daily re-hydrate themselves or they will die. They can live for thousands of years, and love peace. Also very intelligent, their brains are twice the size of Terrans

Triforians
http://www.rovang.org/wg/pics/trey.jpg
Each Triforian has three entities. Heart, Mind, and Courage. When strong, they are united as one. They are a proud race, and warlike, but generally good natured.

Races pt.2

Hotharians
http://www.rovang.org/wg/pics/trider.jpg
They are a lizard-mammal hybrid race that, like the Triforians, are warlike, but not nearly as advanced as the Triforians.

Karovians
http://www.rovang.org/wg/pics/kinwon+taikwa.jpg
From the planet KO-35, these beings are for all intents and purposes, Terran. No one knows how two species of humans evolved in the same way on two different planets, but here is proof they did.

Eltarians
http://www.rovang.org/wg/pics/phantomranger-ms.jpg
No one knows what Eltarians look like under their mask. Some portray themselves as giant floating heads, some hide themselves inside full body armor. They are very wise.

Edenoi
http://www.rovang.org/wg/pics/dex.jpg
Telepathic, the Edenoits are a primitive race much like the Hathorians.

((Looks like a good method to get back into action...))

The Glory of Retribution slid through the nothingness of space, followed by its Battlefleet. In its own part, the Battlefleet Retribution was only small segment of the Warfleet Justice, which was only a small part of the Anaen Fleet Honour. However the system worked, one thing was certain...the Anaen Fleets were a force to be respected. It had been centuries since there was a war of note, the Stellar Dominion had long since brought its neighbours under control, with the Xenophobe Treaties ensuring co-operation. The Admiral remembered the last war, waged against the Tannaryn Commonwealth some two decades ago. It had been swiftly crushed, the rebels trying vainly to break free of the Dominion.

Battle Admiral J'Karisen Ho'Tayn turned and nodded in respect to Battle-Lord Navigator Na'Vassyn entered the Bridge, his bronze-coloured staff of office tapping the ground as the psychic walked.

"Admiral Ho'Tayn. A Junior-Navigator has reported a mechanised fleet engaging in military actions some way beyond our space. Since the Isolation Order we have not left Dominion territory, but it seems that the High Conclave have decided to take a broader interest."

The nine-foot tall Admiral smiled down at the seven-foot tall Navigator (who, as a Navigator-Bloodliner, was shorter than most Onarrans).

"Then we must obey the Conclave. At last...someone to fight!"

This statement was greeted with approval throughout the Bridge, and when the information was distributed among the crew even the disciplined Onarran Spacefarers paused to cheer, for Onarrans are a warlike people, and their ships are, in words of a historian of a conquered people, the conquerors of space, the destroyers of worlds and the gods of war given form.

Planet Yera, Turi System

There was no real significance to this system. There where a good deal of habitable worlds here, but no current occupation. But it was the next link in the Atlantian Federation, one step closer to the homeworld of Atlantis.

General Automon watched the viewscreen. This scout fleet was here only to protect the main fleet in the Portas system, while it gathered its forces. The Atlantians where most likely doing the same thing. He had seen the map. The Atlantians held an impressive twenty systems, with six of them inhabited. They no doubt had an impressive sized fleet. This would probably be the largest target the Empire had yet faced. It would be a victory to remember. A massive blow to the biological races of the universe. But then again, there had been rumors of a “Terran” race. One with population in the Trillions. One that had not twenty systems, but hundreds. One with the majority of its population stuck on one tiny planet in a distant system. One that had many different factions.

All the easier to destroy thought the evil general. A Cog come up to him, beeping in binary.

“What?! On screen!” he shouted. Another one of the Cogs changed the viewscreen. Sure enough, the Atlantians had assembled a force in the next system, the Hazari system. They where not moving, just sitting there, waiting. The Machines now controlled three systems, Portas, Turi, and Mempha. Only Portas was inhabited, but every system controlled by the Machines gave them more resources. The Hazari system wasn’t inhabited either, but it was a choke point. A strategic system that would, if captured, would lead to the Trabe system, and then to the rest of Atlantis.

The Machine Fleet would be ready to advance in just a few hours. But unknown to the Machine Generals, another force was approaching Atlantian space fast.....

[[Just a note...the Anaen Navy is big, let me know if you want fewer Onarran ships in the area and Ill reduce the size to a half/quarter Battlefleet accordingly]]

The Glory of Retribution decelerated within the Turi System, having Subspaced to the nearest node, a point several million miles from the system before engaging faster-than-light travel. The Stellar Dominion Fleet dropped their speed to combat velocity around their flagship, ready to engage the pitifully small scout fleet before them.

The Battlefleet Retribution had yet to lose a war in all its long aeons of service, the ancient Glory of Retribution having seen fully a thousand years of dedicated warfare and the youngest ship a decade old. Despite the ancient, incredibly thick hulls, there was nothing archaic about their armaments or engine systems.

After decelerating the forty other capital ships of the fleet moved immediately to open broadside fire upon the mechanised foes who were not only outnumbered, but probably outgunned. The flagship bore several ranks of railgun batteries and lances as well as torpedo tubes mounted beneath the ramming prow, the other capital ships bearing the same armament and fashioned to a similar design, but on a smaler scale. The lighter ships bearing either railguns or lances but not both. There was only one thing uniform throughout the fleet...every ship was designed to be able to ram into an opponent if their weapon systems were destroyed.

Aboard the Glory of Retribution

Battle Admiral Ho'Tayn smiled in amusement and contempt at the scout fleet, his expression changing as he realised that it was indeed only a scouting force and certainly not the main fleet - there was not enough in the system to warrant more than a small scout fleet.

With a fatalistic shrug he spoke the words.

"Glory and empire"

With those three words, relayed to the other ships, gravity-free chambers slid open, mechanic loading systems (under the watchful eyes of Onarran weaponmasters) slid steel-banded neutron shells into the railguns.
Even as the lethal broadside batteries were loaded the ship's captains turned their vessels...ready to release full broadside batteries into their foes.

"Blood and honour"

At the completion of the order the collossal ships of the Anaen Navy opened fire. Fully charged laser-lances flashed towards the enemy at the speed of light, and railgun shells at an only slightly slower speed.

As he waited for the results of the fire to come in, Ho'Tayn once again gave the order to load, "Glory and Empire", before turning to look at a display in front of him. Eleven of the fifteen fission-fusion generators were operating. He tapped a few keys and the power levels surged as another two generators activated.

He seated himself again, and waited for the reports, fully expected a few to survive, not allowing himself to hope for total annihilation.
Zoir
10-12-2004, 04:35
The Heart of the ancient Zoir Imperum, the Core systems, Capital Planet of the Zoir Imperum, The Imperal Palace, The Imperal Throne Room.

Emperor Gernx, scion of House Yurxi, Divine Emperor of the Zoir, protector of the Zoir protectorates, Lord of light and an few hundred other ancient and slightly ancient titles that were too number to name stared at the messenger from one of his spies, the figure was dressed in an envirmental suit, the atmoshpere of the Zoir Worlds and that the Zoir personally prefered contianed along the normal mix of gases like what would found on earth like planets, many gases that were concidered deadly poisonious to non Zoir life.

He mused, it was an pity the Zoir were unable to conduct spying operations themselves but the Zoir stuck out too much on most worlds and much of the galaxy outside of human and some of the younger or isolated at the time of the ancient near galaxic empire, had colored the Zoir with ancient hate, near worship or supision from ancient times. Of course thanks to the Zoir Warlords, or Zoir Pirates as they were known in human space and among younger races, the Zoir reputation wasn't very good in human space either there. Which lead to the current problem, Zoir did not have many allies, it could not afford to lose allies. if this report delivered by this messenger was correct something was happening on the borders of Atlantian Outcasts, one of the few nations that could be concidered an ally. This was disturbing. He had to have more information.

After dismishing the messenger he sent for one of his commanders. "Commander Hurxi, I wish know more of just what is going on along the border of Atlantian Outcasts, I have received disturbign reports and I wish for you to take an out an ship and find out what is going on and report back." Commander Gernx bowed. "It shall be done, I shall return with the information you require."

IC:

Planet Turi

The Machine scout fleet was caught by suprise. General Automon tried desperetly to hold onto the rails of the bridge of his ship as it was rocked by enemy fire.

"Atlantians?" he asked. The cogs beeped to him. It wasn't Atlantians. It wasn't even anything that the Machines had come across yet.

The Gear ships returned fire. They launched all Quadrafighters, and called in for re-enforcements. But as they began to figure out that this enemy fleet was MASSIVE, Automon began to make the order to retreat. The Empire would need to find a new rout into Atlantian space.

But Automon had one suprise in store.

His ship fired a set of cogs (not the warrior, but an actual Cog) at one of the bigger Onarr ships, which it attached itself to, with a homing device. When the Onarr ships returned home, where ever that was, Automon, and the rest of the Machine Empire, would know where that was.

The scout fleet jumped, back to the Portas system, where three of the main fleets where already assembled for battle. The other three fleets where supposed to meet there, but Automon would have them change their stratagy. Prehaps a two pronged attack....
Alutia

Admiral Kusanagi stood on the bridge of her ship overlooking the proceedings of the crew below her. The Trigun class Carrier was one of the most massive ships in the Alutian fleet.
Ma’am
A petty officer yelled running up to her and stopping just short of crashing into her and sending them both flying into the bulkhead.
Yes, what is it?
She inquired the young officer rather haughtily.
A spy drone patrolling system J-4574 has encountered a fleet which vaporized an Atlantean outpost before jumping out of the system. The drone read no biological heat signatures onboard any of the ships.
Interesting a fleet large enough to annihilate that outpost yet it didn’t have a single biological reading?
Yes Ma’am
I’ve never heard of anything remote controlled as large or numerous as that. You sure it wasn’t a malfunction?
All of the signs on the drone read normal.
Very well notify fleet command and dispatch more drones to that system and surrounding systems. I want to know what this is about.

OOC: I'm trying to get away from gigantic fleets that kept me [relatively] alive through the Sith Wars.
Platoon--3 wings and 1 SoL or Partisan.
Aka: (1) SoL, (3) Line Cruisers, (48) Parasites
SoL -- shorthand for Ship of the Line. The title came from the first translation-capable craft capable of navigating tranSpace datalines. Now reffers to any craft armed with heavy missile and cannon and using a small parasite complement.

Weyrean Delegation to Atlantis

Weyreans did not know everything that happened in other nations. Generally speaking, Weyrean embassies did not really even monitor their host nations all that well. But the destructionn of a space station was not something even the most incompetent station chief could miss. A message was drafted, and sent via encrypted instel to the Diplomatic Service in Wye City. Encryption was somewhat pointless, since no known nation besides Weyr had thus far even bothered to research tranSpace and its underlying principles.

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
Intersolar Space, Weyrean Border Line

There were benefits to being a Ship of the Line, and there were downsides. The benefit was that the remodeled Star Guard assigned a small force to every Lineship -- a platoon, to be exact. The downside was that each platoon was given a large chunk of border space and told to patrol it. Having 'initiated' contact with Atlantis, although undoubtedly some Weyrean trader had stumbled on them before, the WSGS Subaru got to patrol the chunk of space closest to that entity. The idea was to mostly sit there and wait for some stupid smuggler to come by and find a dozen missiles on his, or her, ass. The Subaru and her three escorts did that well, while their crews slowly went insane in the depths of intersystem space.

"Instel traffic. Another damn priority, commandant," the comm tech on duty keyed into the command levels of the Net, for a moment, went back to watching some show dumped into the Subaru's computer before they departed from Ocean Core. The new stealth systems were so efficient that it was pointless to shut down the Net, or keep the lights dimmed.

"Got it," the captain responded. It took him all of five minutes to scan it. "Attention, we will be translating at 1800 hours." he stated over the communications level of the Subaru's Net, then went back to his reading. Four hours should be enough time to finish this chapter.

"You are an incompotent fool" Gasket said.

Vinjix seethed with anger "And you are a moron with a large mouth"

"You should never have never been put in command of the entire fleet. I don't know why my father put you in charge"

"Because your father is smarter then you will ever be" said Vinjix

Gasket chuckled "I doubt that. I see you for what you really are. A moron. I'll have you deactivated when I am king"

Vinjix grabbed Gasket "Watch what you say to me, boy. I am your superior officer. I can and will have your machanical ass shot though a torpedo tube"

"And my father will deactivate you. Sort of a lose-lose scenario, huh?"

Vinjix smalled Gasket agenst the wall "If I am going down, then I am most assuredly taking you you with me"

"You wouldn't dare" he said.

"Watch me" Vinjix's wist turned into a blade.

"Ok, STOP!" he shouted. Vinjix stopped. "My father will hear about this" said Gasket.

"Tell him what you wish" said Vinjix. He turned around and continued to move the fleets around. "Get back to your fleet" he said to Gasket, who did so.

Edge of the Portas System, an ship baring the trademark signs of an Zoir design faded in from subspace before activating its cloaking device and other devices aimed at preventing detection. It was small ship, tiny for something built by the Zoir, only 40 ft long, 14 ft high and twenty foot wide with an crew of three, an pilot, an electronics warfare expert and an engineer.

Commander Hurxi never thought he would be piloting again, he was an commander of the Imperal fleet, he commanded great warships and outranked even the Admirals and Generals of the Nobles, still when the emperor called he had to answer. He sighed and called out to the electronic expert. "Yurixa, have you picked up anything?."

Yurixa called back. "No it strange there should be an Atlantian outpost here but instead there is an debris field . They don't match any recorded species' or race's ships, not even any of the human's."

Hurxi frowned. "That is odd. continue scan the system, just don't get us detected. I'd rather not try to start an game of cat and mouse here."

"We keep seeing more alien presence here in this system then anywhere we've been before. I think the Atlantians have allies" said general Steelon. He was presenting to the other Generals on Vinjix's bridge.

"Agreed. I think we may have bitten off more then we can chew" said Automon "I've faced an entire battlefleet already"

"But you had only a scout fleet" said Gerrok "And look what we have done to the Atlantians"

Automon growled back at him "The Atlantians? We blew up a badly defended outpost. We havn't even come across the main Atlantians fleet yet"

Now Tezzala spoke up "May I sugest a two pronged attack? One half of the fleet stays here, in the Portas system, and advances back into the Turi system, full force. The other half of the fleet then retreats and attacks the Gree system, as there are actual people living on a planet there. The enemy forces will be buisy in the Turi system while the rest of our fleet is annialating them from behind"

"Ya, they will be buisy. Carving us up. Splitting our forces would make us weaker. They would destroy half of us, then turn around and do the same to the other one" said Steelon.

"What do you propose then?" asked Vinjix, amused.

"I say we retreat" he replied.

"King Mondo, my father, has ORDERED us to take the star cluster. We WILL carry it out" said Gasket.

Vinjix nodded "For once, I agree with Gasket. We have been given a task, and we will complete it" he looked around the room at the other generals "We are going with Tezzala's sugestion. Tezzala, Gasket, and Steelon, you will be moving your forces to the Gree system. Automon and Gerrok will remain with me"

Headed on a routine trip to a friendly Atlantian outpost, the RGF cruiser Savoy Truffle drops out of hyperspace, unwittingly, right in the middle of the machine fleet.

"WHAT IS THAT?!!?!?!?!"
"RECHARGE HYPERSPACE DRIVES!!!!"

The engineers and command crew scream across the intercom as the AI quickly builds up the necessary activation energy for the hyperspace module.

"Where is the Atlantian outpost? Target our next jump for the Atlantian home system!"

In a bright flash of light, the Savoy Truffle disappears seconds later, now headed to the Atlantian home system to inform the government of the news.

One of the major disadvantages of the LRR FTL system is that, while very fast, you can't interact with "real" space while in the process of FTL travel. Therefore, it is necessary for AIs to drop a hyperspacing ship a little bit outside of its destination in order to make sure that the ship isn't walking straigt into a black hole or something.

About a day later, the Savoy Truffle arrives in the Atlantian capital system. The cruiser, a standard spherical multirole design, one of the larger ships at .9 kilometers diameter, is well arored and shielded and well stocked with sensors and engineering equipment, although somewhat unimpressively armed.

"Attention system control, this is the RGSV Savoy Truffle. We carry urgent news and request a secure channel with your government, over."

Commander Vega recived the LRR signal from the bridge of the Olympia, and replied.

"We read you, Savoy Truffle. This is Commander Vega, suprime Admiral of the entire Atlantian Fleet. I am having this conversation encrypted as we speak. What is the problem?"

After two more scanning the system for any clues Commander Hurxi ordered an return to Imperium space where he filed an inclusive report, that the outpost wasn't there but there wasn't any evidence of who did it, leaving the Imperium in an mess. On one hand they couldn't send armed forces to search out what carried out the attacks on the Atlantians for fear of possible'y being blamed or concidered by any antizoir faction remaining even after the surportive wars of taking advange of the sitation, on the other hand, they couldn't leave the Atlantians to who ever's mercy was behind it was without help. It would be an debate that would rage among the Emperor's advisers for some time. While this debate raged, patrols along the Imperium borders and its protectorates increased greatly, with patrols going into near by border systems.

"We just came from the approximate position of one of your outposts. As we hyperspaced in, we failed to pick up a sub-etha signal from the station, and when we exited hyperspace we did not detect the station, but rather a very large fleet where the station should be! This could amount to an invasion," says the AI.

"It seems probable that this fleet destroyed your station. We have also been getting reports of many battles in nearby sectors of space between the defense forces of various systems and an unidentified and somewhat obscure invading fleet."

Glory of Retribution

Battle-Admiral Ho'Tayn ativated his communications systems, sending his voice through to the captains of the various Onarran vessels in the area.

"Battle-Squadrons Vengeance and Revenge move to previously defined link-systems in preparation for broad-range attacks from the foe. Battle-Squadrons Retribution and Justification to remain with me. Justification to assume defensive patterns around planetary formations, Retribution to prepare for further engagement. Vessel Justification of War to return to dockyards for full report on foe."

One long finger switched off the communications system, gleaming eyes watching as a full score of capital ships plus escorts Jumped to nearby nodes in case of a broader front.

As the two Battle-Squadrons departed for other systems, the Justification of War slid through the Node system toward the Teranthi Dockyards. Unknown to the Onarrans aboard, several Cogs attached to its hull...although anyone following it would be in for a most unpleasant surprise.

[[OOC note: The two battle-squadrons sent out won't be coming back...assume that the systems the Onarran's have chosen are of importance to the Anaen Navy and noone else ;) ]]

OOC: Wouldn't it make more sense for the Machines to take control of lifeless planets that are undesirable for organisms? A good example of this would be our own Moon.

And what would the fun be in that?

This is an empire based off the show "Power Rangers" (those of you who are going to post saying its stupid, shut your mouths. You don't need to spread your opinion). They hate biological lifeforms, and they want to build an empire. How else to do that if you don't subjigate the people living in the area first?

"Eh...ok. We didn't quite realize the, uh...danger involved," says the AI. In command of a powerful battle-capable vessel, the AI was not prepared to be sent away for safety's sake. But upon re-consideration, the AI decides that its the best idea.

"We can send reinforcements later," pipes in the captain.

"Don't tell them that! We don't know for sure," says the AI, concerned to be responsible for putting RGF crews in danger.
