We have talked with the FIA and have successfully negotiated rights to start our own auto racing league. We are looking for everything: countries interested in submitting (no more than two) teams, countries interested in submitting track designs for possible acceptance, corporate sponsors interested, etc.
Here are the limits:
-Cars must be powered by an engine with 8, 10, or 12 cylinders
-Cars will be of "Indianapolis" or "Formula 1" type- long noses with front and rear wings.
-Cars will not have engine sizes exceeding 3.5 liters.
-Cars may use supercharging or turbos. No twin turbos.
-Courses are NOT to be ovals or racing speedways in simple circular or trapezoidal shapes, i.e. not NASCAR. EXCEPTION: If the course makes use of the oval but has a portion in the infield, it is acceptable (see the USA Grand Prix in Formula 1)
-Courses are to be closed circuits with paved roads.
-Courses may use standard roads, though they must be closed to traffic for the duration of the event.
-Courses are to be designed with the safety of all in mind and with adequate emergency facilities.
-Courses are to be adequately secured against possible attack by any terrorist-sized group with small arms.
-There will be a limit of 16 courses to be raced for points. Though we will look at excess course submissions, they may be denied or raced but without points, i.e. "non-championship."
-Teams will have two drivers that will race two seperate cars. I.E. Team X races both car #1 and #2. They must be mechanically identical except for track setup and personal driver options.
-If a country does not wish to use engines produced by its own country, it is allowed to use engines produced by a real-life country, i.e. Ford, Ferrari, McLaren, Chevrolet, etc.
-If any nation racing is at war or political tension with another team, they will be forced to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner or face heavy fines or possible suspension or expulsion from Formula NS.
-If any nation racing is at war or political tension with a country hosting a race, they are encouraged to skip that race.
The points system is as follows:
1st- 10
2nd- 8
3rd- 7
4th- 6
5th- 4
6th- 3
7th- 2
8th- 1
There will be both a driver and a team championship.
So, let's see those designs!
-BTW, an image of the track is required for a course design.
