World Cup 20 Hosting Bid—Liverpool England/Commerce Heights

The Setup

Qualifying
Depending on the number of teams that sign up for WC20, one of several qualifying systems will be used:
82 teams—10 groups of 8 (top 3 qualify)
92 teams—15 groups of 6 (top 2 qualify)
107 teams—15 groups of 7 (top 2 qualify)
122 teams—15 groups of 8 (top 2 qualify)
The signup thread will be bumped if there are not a "nice" number of teams.

Finals
As always, the finals will consist of 8 groups of 4. Groups A-D will play in Liverpool England and groups E-H will play in Commerce Heights. The 16 teams advancing from the first round will play a single-elimination tournament, ending with the third-place playoff in Commerce Heights and the final in Liverpool England.

Scores
Scores will be generated using a modified version of leagion that uses KPB points (the WC12 formula with constant A = 640 and constant B = 540).
You can test the formula using the Shock-o-meter (http://www.thirdgeek.com/shockometer.php?team1=Commerce%20Heights&team2=Liverpool %20England&adv=1), editing the URL to change the teams used. Just remember that when you run hundreds of sims, you will get odd results http://terranordalis.thirdgeek.com/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Roleplay
There will be an unspecified RP bonus, causing a small but significant increase in KPB points for teams that post RPs. A leveled bonus—similar to WC18—will be used, but length will also count (except when the RP falls into the worst category).

The Stadia—Commerce Heights

CDA (Capitalizt Defense Alliance) National Stadium
http://www.thirdgeek.com/wcstadia/wc20-ch-cda_national_stadium.png
Location: New Seoul, New Manhattan
Date Built: under construction (to be completed in 43 TE)
Capacity: 173,205
Club: none
no description available

Capitalizm
http://www.thirdgeek.com/wcstadia/wc20-ch-capitalizm.png
Location: Yu-Po, North Neosokojito
Date Built: 17 TE
Capacity: 161,803
Club: Yu-Po Firebirds
Named after the economic system that has proven itself to be the best in Terranordalis by far, Capitalizm is designed to be the best stadium ever built in Terranordalis. With an unprecedented capacity of 161,803 (soon to be surpassed by CDA National Stadium), a transparent roof (not shown in model pictured above) using patented Chorion Industries technology, air conditioning, and an advanced holographic projector from Asgard Technologies to keep advertisements in compliance with WCC regulations, Capitalizm was made possible by a §30 billion investment from the CHEAT (Commerce Heights Engineering and Associated Technologies) Alliance. The excessive cost left the stadium on the drawing board at first, but, with the possibility that Commerce Heights would host the World Cup 16 final, the CHEAT Alliance went ahead with the project. In addition to the Yu-Po Firebirds, Captializm hosts several matches during the Commerce Heights Capitalizts' World Cup qualifying runs.

Cliff Broquard Stadium (sponsored by TechConGroup)
http://www.thirdgeek.com/wcstadia/wc20-ch-cliff_broquard_stadium.png
Location: Commerce Heights, Capital Territory
Date Built: 6 BTE
Capacity: 135,000
Club: Commerce Heights Thunderbirds
Cliff Broquard Stadium, initially built for a WC11 hosting bid with Kaze Progressa, was the home stadium for the national team from WC10 to WC19. The stadium was nearly destroyed by fans angry about CH's WC16 qualifying run, causing the CHFF to fund a §50 million renovation effort to give the stadium its current appearance.

Orange-Green Bowl
http://www.thirdgeek.com/wcstadia/wc20-ch-orange_green_bowl.png
Location: Aeropag, Western Terranordalian Islands
Date Built: 33 TE
Capacity: 107,596
Club: Aeropag Hurricanes

Amphibian Center
http://www.thirdgeek.com/wcstadia/wc20-ch-amphibian_center.png

Location: Chorion Bluffs, Chorion
Date Built: 2 TE
Capacity: 90,000
Club: Chorion Bluffs Knights (Second Division)
Although Chorion Industries Stadium appears to be a baseball stadium when viewed initially, it is actually is an intricate illusion created by a Maxisoft product, and the poor performance of this product in most situations causes its true purpose—soccer—to be revealed occasionally outside of matches. If the processor used by the stadium's RP bonus machine could be upgraded, players would no longer have to deal with slow reaction time from the net when scoring a goal.

Lawlor Field
http://www.thirdgeek.com/wcstadia/wc20-ch-lawlor_field.png
Location: New Prince, New Anaphase
Date Built: 26 TE

I sent you [LE] a TG with the LE stadia post (so that I wouldn't triple-post and you could edit it if necessary). Since you've conveniently posted in the spot where your stadia are supposed to go, you should edit them into your post.

Endorsing the bid by LE and CH.
Liverpool England
14-12-2004, 03:01
I will scorinate all matches played in CH up to the semi finals, and vice versa. I shall scorinate the final if I'm not involved in it, and CH shalld scorinate the 3/4PO if he's not in it. If I'm/CH's involved in the Final/3PPO respectively, CH/myself shall scorinate the Final/3PPO.

Also, the bid would like to thank all its supporters/.

So do only WCC members vote or can I too?

Only WCC members can vote right now. There is some discussion about possibly changing that though. Keep an eye on the discussion thread for any further developments.
