Call for Unity Among the Quendi

Sitting down at his desk, Nosirin watched the holovids play across the projector in front of him. He had started typing a little letter for the Menelmacari, Aelosians, Taurenori and Bajoni the four other most powerful elven nations.

“I greet you, leaders of the Taurenori, Menelmacari, Aelosians and Bajoni.

In this time of strife the nations of the elves should be banding together, forgetting past differences, and creating a unified front against the evils that permeate our world.

Yet the only power that is needed is not simply military, but also economic and political. Although we all recognize that by being divided we weaken our power, and split our forces. The issues that face our pasts are many, the hatred spawned by a few rash actions is terrible and detrimental. We must not loose sight of the stars by watching the wisp of a cloud.

This is why I ask that we restrain the hatred we have against each other, that we seek to heal the wounds, and that we try and bridge the chasm that has grown between our four glorious nations.

Some claim lordship over others because of their ancestry, some claim to be the lords over all, yet must we seek this sort of power? Do we not know that no one will follow this claim? Do we not know that these claims will only lead to even more strife? Do we not know that the other nations will not bow to us due to a scrap of paper?

Indeed, as they say, the people must have one leader who they will follow. Yet our people already have leaders, our people already have their commanders and shepherds, they already have their generals and nobles. So why do we claim these extraneous titles? None of the five of us need these titles to rule. We are the Firstborn, ageless and immortal we should have more wisdom than the humans who many of us look down upon.

But our leaders do not form alliances because of race, even while the humans ally against us. We still hold to the ancient hatreds that have formed because of kin-slayings and wars of vengeance. Do we not realize that this hatred will lead to more war? More kin-slaying? Is this what we want our legacy to hold?

This is why I ask you to forget the hatreds that separate us, to stop using the hateful curses of names that we cast upon each other, to cease this rumor mongering against each other. I ask for forgiveness, I say that we all ask for forgiveness, for past actions. Whether they be accidental or purposeful, mistakes or plots, aggression or defense.

"Titles and claims, you say, Nosirin. The only titles that both myself, my family, my heirs and the Agaraglareb claim are those that give them authority over the people that actually support them. And that means, over the people of the Sacred Sindarin Empire of Aelosia, Empire that incidentally was named in my honor, by my people, after I dissapeared, which fully acknowledge their claims over them".

"We don't claim no other titles, neither we wish to extend out leadership and rulership over the rest of the elvenkind, being them quendi or not. We do defend our own titles because they were won by our ancestors thanks to their deeds and thanks to the blood they spilled for the people they ruled and defended, and you're noone to question such titles".

"Your claims for unity are not going to fell in deaf ears, and I support your arguments fully, yet I do believe that many of the quendi nations are already united by cooperation and friendship, so it's not necessary to encourage such policy again, unless you want to unleash rain over an already wet ground".

"I won't claim any new title, neither I do desire them. Yet I don't think I will renounce to those I already wield, specially not only because you want me to. I hope that friendship and cooperation indeed flourish between our peoples, Nosirin, as long as you maintain a line of behavior according to the best interests of our race as a whole"

Lord Nosirin, you say I claim titles and lordship over others. Yet the only titles I retain have been given to my by the people I have lead through strife. The only lordship I have is that over my people whom have given it to me willingly.

However the Quendi do seem seperated as you say and I shall do all on my part to unite them, as I suspect the other Quendi leaders will do as well. I would suggest we meet each other under one roof to adress these problems you speak of. I am certain they are not as bad as you say.

However I will not forget past crimes comitted. I will forgive past crimes comitted if all have truly redeemed themselves or paid for their crimes.
