World Cup Introduction:

The NSWC is a tournament for any NS nation who signs up. This World Cup is about to Start its 19th competition. Every team is given a rank based on their performances in previous Cups, and the starting rank is 150 (the Current 'best team in the world' is Rejistania, with a rank of 1) See::KPB Rankings (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/KPB_ranking_system)

Scores are generated using either a Java program or through various or MS Excel sheet 'scorinators' which use random numbers, weighted by ranking and RP bonus to produce the scores.

It is encouraged for Nations to RP - roleplay - their matches, team rosters, players and such. Good RPs will help raise your chance of winning (especially in the Baptism of Fire and Colony Cup). Please note: A lot of RPs does not guarantee goals or wins, but your chances are improved or this happening. i.e. Two debutant, Rank 150, nations play each other. One has RP'd a few times, the other has not. The nation who has participated should have the better probability of victory, but still has a chance of a Win, Loss or Draw.

RPs can be Team Roster announcements, fan comments, press conferences, media stories, anything about the game, as long as you've kept to the score as posted or TGd to you by the host/scorer. - Originally Produced by Starblaydia

In an interview with Talatarr's national coach and legend Dirk Callahan about the teams chances in winning the BoF and the subsequent World Cup the coach was realistically hopeful on the teams chances of making a positive showing in their first WC

"Well, we realize that we are raw and unexperienced when compared to some of the elite teams we may be facing but we hope that with hard work and perserverence we can fufill the dream of Talatarr which is: 'Don't finish last'."

I'll sign up. This will be my first WC in a while, as my nation went through a period of civil unrest. I had to resurrect my nation, so I'm not sure if I'm BoF elligible, but if I am, I'll participate in that. I've lost my soccer history, so I have no idea how many WCs I've played in.

Do a "Search" on the form for "WC19" and "WC XVIII" and read some of the RPs there. Go to the World Cup Reference Book, and take a look. Yeah i can see why that is if im ranked 167th and face 1st place then itll be like Germany Saudi Arabia WC02 or France New Zealand Confed Cup.

Because BoF 20 started 3 days ago, and with Aust participating in WC20, they will not be eligible for BoF 21.

With the ceasing of Nastic today, removing them from the signup list, I am holding "The Coronation" as the 80th and final nation (Aust replaces Nastic). Should another nation signup, I will ask Druida to re-confirm it's removal (or post a response here indicating future action).

With the Coronation officially removed, there may now be an additional spot in the Cup if Talatarr does not return within 9 days or the start of the cup.

Personally, I'd like to do the draw completely at random, but I can hear the resentment from some more-established members of the WC already.

So the draw will be done in pots, (i.e. Top 10 ranks in Pot 1, next 10 in Pot 2, etc down to Pot 8) so all the groups are relatively balanced ranking-wise.
