Entering the Unknown...

Task Force Renegade

OOC: Closed. Unless you get a TG from me, don't post or even tag this, please.

Also... don't go and start bitching about me being so young and unable to have this stuff. I have been on this site since March 26th, 2003 and this nation is representing a rogue fleet of the nation Crimmond, which I own. So any of you self righteous 'OMFG! N00b G0DMODDER!' types can leave as well.

The door slid open and the bridge was suddenly flooded with the sounds of old earth heavy metal, until it closed again.

The music stopped inside the room as well, when the woman behond the desk keyed it off and looked up at the officer who had entered.

"I don't understand why you listen to such things captain... What does being 'back in black' mean?"

"What is your report commander?" The Captain, a stern faced woman named Ursula Bannar, asked. Her attitude matched the name and face. She was not pretty, nor then. Her build was large and fit and some speculated that she could lift more than anyone onboard.

"We are approaching space that has not be patroled by Renegade before and scans show that there are ships moving about in it. Shall I make a detour into it, to see who is there?" He got the nod he had hoped for and retreated out of the room as the screeching man went back to proclaiming he had returned as a black man. What strange things the Terrans listened to...

----------

The CSS Redemption made a turn towards the unpatroled space, accelerating towards it and entering hyperspace a few moments later.

A half hour later, it exited on the edge of that unpatrolled area, well in sensor range of whatever was out there, probably. It entered at half acceleration, sending out a passive message that merely identified the ship and signaled it was not a hostile intruder.

Argala System
Planet Vernar
Starbase 4

Several starships orbited the station, and several where docked. A battlecruser, several destroyers, cargo ships, personal flyers, and more. On the station's bridge, they where picking up a weak signal, origionating from less then a lightyear away.

"What do you think it is?" asked one.

"Probably just a lost Terran probe. When it gets in reach, lets use it for target practace" said another.

"Its moving too fast to be a probe..." said a 3rd one. He fooled with the controls "And too large. Much too large" He continued to fool with the station's controls. Then the commander of the station walked over. Commander Vosk was tall, and very young for his position. 52, in Terran years. But by Terran standards, he looked 22, as Atlantians lived for about 200 years.

"Let me see that" he said. He started fooling with the controls also. "Its a ship....But we can't do anything about it until they get closer. Keep an eye on it" Vosk walked off to another part of the bridge....

"Any response by anything? A ship, a merchant, a station... hell, a pirate?"

"No Captain... not a thing. Apparently they don't notice or care about us."

She sighed and sat in the command chair, looking about the small, utilitarian bridge. "Allright... do we have readings on anything out there?"

"There is a star system nearby. We could reach it in a few minutes with a FTL jump." the junior science officer answered, bringing an image of the bright star onscreen.

"Helm, alter course and make the jump."

--------------

The ship immediatly stopped broadcasting and altered course, jumping a few seconds later. The exited the hyperspace envelope on the edge of the system.

Onboard, the comm officer blinked and shook her head. She was getting their passive signal, still in route. That allways weirds me out. I wonder if the people in the system see two ships...

"Communications... open a channel to... whoever." A pause while the woman nodded. "This is Captain Ursula Bannar of the CSS Redemption. Second Fleet, Task Force Renegade. You will respond immediatly to this message." The message would probably be confusing to the recievers, as it was spoken in the strang Polish, German and Russian mixed language of Crimmond.

The person at the station looked over at the Commander "Sir, a second ship just....appeared in our system. They're hailing us"

"Two ships?" asked a Lt.

"Well, patch it in" said the Commander.

"Sir....its of an untranslatable Terran language. I belive one that origionated from mid-Europe"

"Damn Terrans" said the Commander. "Send a communication in English saying we cannot understand them. Lets see if they can understand that one. If not, then Try Spanish. Or Mandarian Chinese"

"Aye sir"

Gods damn Terrans.... thought the commander Too many damn languages....

The comm officer sighs at the resposes in several languages. "They can't understand us, sir."

Ursula hmmed. "Send video as well." She looked back at the screen, speaking in accented english at the pickups. "I am Captain Ursula Bannar of the CSS Redemption, Task Force Renegade. Identify yourselves." The most noticable thing about the woman is the uniform, exactly the same as Crimmond Regular Navy. Despite how the Admirals disliked the Terran Crimms, the uniform had been useful in the past, when dealing with those that had ties to Crimmond.

"We're receving a video transmittion, sir" said the communications officer "...And its in English"

"Patch it in" Commander Vosk replied.

"I am Captain Ursula Bannar of the CSS Redemption, Task Force Renegade. Identify yourselves."

Nothing like being blunt and invasive thought the commander. He responded.

"This is Starbase twelve, of Atlantian Star Command. You are entering Atlantian space. Please identify your presence for being here"

"Atlantians?" Bannar asks in Crim turns and looks at the science officer. "Didn't the Empire sell them the Scarabs? The ones with the gigantic ships that reportedly scared off the Imperial Fleet in Sol a while back?"

After getting a nod, she looks back, dropping back into English. "We are patrolling territory that is unkown to us. The last reports we had of Atlantians was a skirmish in Sol. We would have thought that you would have shed yourselves of that system as we have. Most dangerous place in the galaxy, excepting Polo's Bolos."

About that time, the 'echo' ship would vanish, the Redemption still encroaching into the system at an ever increasing speed, headed towards the source of the Atlantian signal.

"Sir, the first ship vanished" said the Lt. "It must have been an echo"

"We normally stay clear of the Sol system. The fleet that was there a few months ago...was not entiraly ours. Long story, that involved a near war with the Elarians. But we agree in your sentament" He looked around his bridge for a moment.

"You are welcome to dock at our station if you wish, for supplies or anything you might need. However, I request that you do not go flying through our territory at whim"

Ursula hmmphed at the screen. "The Elarians. They should be grateful they have not crossed us." A lapse of Crimm at someone offscreen, then more English. "We will approach for... diplomatic purposes." At that, the communication was terminated, without ceremony. Seems the arrogance of the Renegades had survived the seperation well enough, seeing as the ship Bannar commanded was small to just about anyone.

Indeed that's exactly what the Redemption was doing anyway. The rate of increase had leveled out though as it reached mid acceleration. A few minutes later, it started to coast and slowly lose speed as it closed.

"Um....understood" said the Commander to himself. Not exactly experianced in manners he thought to himself. He issed the order "Open the docking bays"
Task Force Renegade
07-12-2004, 07:34
"Should we insist on an outer dock? If they trap us in there we're as good as dead."

Bannar looked at the crewman who spoke. "These people are Atlantian. You saw the pictures of the Sol conflict. The Huntress would last seconds against them." Turning back to the screen she watched her ship angle to enter the open bay. She ignored the gulp of the crewman. Apparently saying a Crimmond Battleship was nothing wasn't reassuring.

As the ship cleared the doors, it slowed dramaticly and took in the sights around it. "Definately not like our Stardocks. Way too shiny." She commented, waving to open channels. "We are taking moorings now." And the transmission is cut again.

Outside teh ship, there was a problem. The docking ring on the airlock was having trouble adapting to the Atlantian counterpart. After three seperate tries it finally locked down and all the panels inside went green.

The hull and blast hatches opened at Bannar's touch and she stepped through immediatly, alone as the hatches closed behind her. At that, she waited to be addressed.

Vosk made his way to the docking port entry way.

"Welcome to Atlantis" he said to the woman at the door. He held out his hand for a Terran handshake.
Task Force Renegade

She looks at the hand for a long second before taking it slowly. "I am Captain Ursula Bannar..." A look around after the grip is released. "White collar space..." She says quietly, though easily loud enough that Vosk would hear. "I'm used to more... utilitarian stations."

Vosk drew a slight smile "I'm sorry our station isn't as run-down as you would like" He took a breath.

"So, what brings you here?"
Task Force Renegade
11-12-2004, 00:58
"I'm here for diplomatic purposes. All Renegader Captain's are allowed to initiate diplomatic relations at their discretion. Besides... It's not often we're in contact with those that are in alliance with the Black Staff. Normally it ends in a ship being blown up. Since I'm the only here that has a ship, I opted to talk, instead."
Atlantian Outcasts
11-12-2004, 01:11
"Alliance?" Vosk had a slightly confused look on his face "We arn't in an alliance with Crimmond. Hell, the last time the great late Senator Orion was in a conference with your people, things didn't go to well. Or the time before that, with Delta himself-"

Thats when Vosk suddenly understood the rest of that statement.

"Wait, what do you mean they blow you up? Arn't you Crimmond?"
Task Force Renegade
11-12-2004, 19:26
Bannar's eye's widened and her eyes flashed briefly. "No. We are Task Force Renegade. few of us have ever been to Sol. We patrol space lanes and hunt down and force pirates out of heavily trafficed areas. I suppose it is... understandable that you don't know of us." She sighed softly and shook her head. "Annoying at times, though. So you are not allied with them?" 'Them' said with slight contempt.

Vosk shook his head, trying to understand all of the facts. "If you mean Crimmond no. We arn't in too good of relations with them. No offense"
Task Force Renegade
12-12-2004, 07:44
"None taken. We were abandoned by them when the Empire returned to Terra. Seems the entire Task Force has a combined bounty equal to Crimmond's Gross National Product. Good thing for them and us no one ever tries to collect." A smirk as she moves away from him, to look out a viewport. "How many planets do you control? Or are you Voids, like us?"

Vosk walked over to a nearby computer on the wall. He pressed a few buttons, making a large map appear on the screen.

"We control twenty systems, not all of them inhabited or even inhabitable"

several star systems on the map went red.

"We have nine inhabited planets and moons in total at the moment"
