OOC: I'm sure most of us game-oriented NS members have played Halo 2. Those of us who have are also aware of the cliffhanger ending & the considerable gap between when the Chief downs the Covenant Walker & his arrival back on earth on the Forerunner ship. This gave me an idea for an RP, about a group of UNSC Marines fighting in the urban environment seen in the second level of the game.
Centered around a team of the 'Helljumpers', the black-armored special forces that dropped in with the Cheif onto Delta Halo, the RP will consist mostly of firefights & inventive uses of human technology to put up an effective resistance against the Covenant invaders.
I'd also like to stress that there will be no 'Spartans', since the last of them is elsewhere during the timeperiod that this RP takes place during.

Sergeant First Class Syn is a native of Philidelphia, the son of a power welder & a school teacher. Brought up in lower-class slums, Syn became highly self-reliant & independent. Joined UNSC Marine Corps in search of steady pay & glory. Promoted steadily until the fall of Reach, where most of his squad was wiped out. Recommended for Special Forces training at age 22, and has served with distinction on three successful pre-emptive strikes against Covenant outposts prior to their first invasion of earth.
