Fighting Crime[RP]

OOC: Be a cop or a perp. Your choice.

IC:

In the Maniacan criminal justice system, there are two seperate but equally important groups. The investigators, who track criminals down, and the enforcers, who subdue and arrest them. Then the criminals are thrown in jail where their crimes will be further investigated, or they are shipped with returning import ships to foreign countries. These are their stories:

It was a corner office. An upstart mob was apparently holding a meeting there, according to information from an informant within the system. Contact was lost days ago. It seems as though they had found him, and severed the link. They hadn't realized the information was already compromised. Now the hard part was figuring out what room they were in, on what floor. Because they couldn't just bust in to each and every room and when they got to the mob's room, open fire. Because there were too many people with guns in the room. They had to plan. Every room had a window. So they sent up an incognito window washer. Bug every window, and then report back. Hopefully it would be that easy.

OOC: Okay, so you can be a cop, you can be the window washer, or you can be a guy in the mob. My image of this is an ongoing series, with each episode lasting a bunch of posts, and then moving on to a new one with a new situation. Try it out eh?

OOOC: Just leave a little OOC note telling what you're going to be, and then jump right in. It should be obvious when the episode ends, and then I'll start a new one. And the good guys don't always have to win, it's just when the bad guys leave town, it's up to somebody else.

OOC: Okay. You guys are all in. When the next episode starts, just leave another OOC note about your character and start right up. Anyone else who wants to join in do the same thing. The window washer is up. The rest of the crew is across the street.

IC: The window washer was going up on the platform. The rest of the squad, mostly enforcers with a few inevestigators receiving the audio from the bugs the window washer was placing, were hanging out in a few of the little shops across the street from the office building in East Kalosampton. When the word was given, they would send a few over with every few minutes, into the lobby of the room. The investigators, when they got the room from the washer, would tell the squad. When the entire squad was over, they would rush the place. By that time, the window washer would have sealed the window shut with caulk, and have a board over the window ready. Of course the blinds would be shut, which would allow the window washer to carry out these operations. He would have a board ready over the window frame. When he heard the door open, He would nail the board down, covering a large portion of the window. The window would be sealed off, not that it would be likely to have been used anyway. The window washer would have a pain gun, so if he saw fit to shoot into the room via the window, he could. The window washer was trained that if the glass broke, cover your face and get low. If the mobsters came at you, pull a special lever on your platform and you would drop rapidly, but a safety knot in the rope would save you from hitting the ground, but hopefully take you out of range of the mobsters. The enforcers would be in full bulletproof gear. The plan should be foolproof. The hardest part it seemed would be to get the room by cycling through the bugs on the receiver after five seconds of listening. That was the plan anyway. Only God knew how the events were to unfold.

OOC: Okay, that's the cue to begin. I'll play a grunt enforcer. Mikatopia, you can be receiving the data from the window washer's bugs. Brydog, you can be an enforcer too, you can even be the guy who opens the door if you want. Lictoria, You can be in the mob and when we begin right off the bat, start talking about your meeting. You may even plan some crime operations for the future(oooh...foreshadowing) in Maniaca or the immediate vicinity. You'll probably have guns, so go ahead and shoot back. The scene can start with the window washer starting to lay the bugs on the third floor. I'm psyched.

Tommy hated the view of the organized criminal. Mention mobster and what do they see? A fat, bald, big-nosed man in a pinstriped suit, smoking a cigar and holding a tommygun. He assumed that when they pictured cars they pictured buggies with no seatbelts and doors in the middle. It was an old view of the professional criminal. The mafia isn't dumb. People that made them look dumb were often oblivious to the fact that the men they were mocking owned their bank accounts. Tommy didn't mind when he thought about the plan. What would they think then, when suddenly all their money was missing? It brought a smile to Tommy's face whenever he thought about how rich he was going to be. How rich he might be. He never underestimated his enemies- even cops. They had their resources.
He spent his life looking over his shoulder. Random displays of paranoia were one of his frequent activities. It had inspired him to make sure this building was completely and totally his before he selected it. He had the cameras all ready to find someone. He wasn't one of those criminals who pretended to like killing cops. But firefights did provide a rush. The police force, even if they did get wind of this, would have gotten wind of it from a tip only reliable enough to send a small force. However, members of this certain group of criminals believed that it was all right to be outnumbered so long as they weren't outgunned. And they weren't. As previously said, the security systems belonged to Tommy Zelazny. And because of that, he was armed to the teeth without anyone knowing. He would kill anyone who he felt vaguely threatened by. And just in case, he had "hostages."
OOC: I'm going to give him some mobster decoys in civilian clothes to make it appear that he has hostages. But don't go figuring it out too quickly.

Daniel had been trained by the police force in many occupations such as this to act undercover. So this was not too different to previous operations in which he had been involved. He was, nervous, but not because of his position, rather of the consequence if he messed up, he had safety nets of course, but there was still the perilous nature of the procedure.

Successfully had he placed bugs in the windows of the previous two stories of the building and there was only one more story to be completed, before he could lower his scaffolding and relax on a job well done. Here at the first window he certainly could hear the murmur of loud voices conversing, although unintelligibly. Definitely occupied but was it the one that they were looking for. He pulled his squeegee across the window, cleaning it - as would any window washer - so as to remain unsuspicious. Now as would be drying it with a cloth, he would hold the bug between the thumb and forefinger, and the cloth in the other fingers, as he had previously done on the other occasions. He had dried most of the window, and now it was necessary to slide the cloth, and bug up to the corner of the large window. He had to stretch, it was lightly out of his normal reach, suddenly, he lost footing, gravity impelled his upper body forwards and down. faced with falling, seeing the distanced ground, he lunged his empty hand to the window to prevent it. He was fine, the other hand still held the items, and the bug he swiftly and carelessly placed, now aware of the attention he may have attracted in this, the suspicion, the dilemma that could have possibly been aroused. Sweat dipped from his brow as, hr quickly shifted to the adjacent window to avert as best he could this possibility, and underwent the similar, yet more hasty process on the other windows before, returning to the first window ready to be lowered. Had this rash action alerted those inside, and would this if it was the right window, jeopardise the operation? He anxiously wondered, upon waiting in front of that portentous first window.

(OOC: Maybe the mobsters become suspicious and alert, or possibly they had not even been in that room, or had not taken heed of it. Maybe something happens while he is waiting ... that is up to you. continue.)

Fel was new on the job. Well, this job anyway. He was in familiar territory, he had worked as a beat cop for several years on the busy side of Maniaca's largest city. But this was his first upper level operation. Right now he and five of his buddies were waiting alert in a china shop, with a bookbag holding whatever gear they couldn't hide on their body. According to the two guys at the table near them, all the bugs were planted. The were cycling through the bugs, after five seconds of listening to each one. Fel heard a cracking in his ear, and then a voice. "group four, over." That was his crew. They each nodded, acknowledging the command. The oldest member of the group, a man of about thirty three, said a few words to the owner of the shop, who must have been a little speculative at having six young men in her china shop, and then the group moved out across the street. They walked into the lobby, opened their bookbags, and donned their headgear. Three other groups--eighteen people in total--were already ready to go. All they were waiting for now was the final group to come over, and for the word to be given. Thirty people was quite a lot just to storm one room, but they were going to make sure none of them escaped. They would line up going diagonally on both sides of the doorway in two layers, which would use twenty people. The remaining ten would rush the room. First a smoke grenade, then a charge grenade. Then get low, and look for the bowlers. Game was on, as soon as they had the room number....

The two investigators, Trap and Trigger, had cycled through all the rooms without any conclusive evidence.

Nothing. *click*

"What do you mean you can't take us out for dinner?" *click*

Nothing. *click*

And so it went. Fifty clicks later, they were getting somewhere.

"Did ya hear that? I thought I heard something hit the window."
"Well check it out if ya want to. We on the other hand, have a scheme to plan...."

"There we go, we've got them," Trap said excitedly. A quick look at the digital readout read bug "115." A quick look at the chart they had compiled while Daniel was placing bugs showed that bug 115 corresponded to room 312. Quickly Trigger picked up a walkie-talkie and radioed to the group across the street. The fifth group was over. They were ready to go. They raced up the stairs to the third floor. The group that was supposed to go across the door was in front. "Remember," said a veteran of the force as he quickly and quietly placed his hand over the peephole, "be quiet, and for heaven sakes don't hit the door. And Fel, radio Daniel." Fel got on the walkie talkie.

"Start laying caulk on room 312, bug 115, if you can."

The crew was staggerred in a diagonal line pointing outward of the door. When everything was ready, the veteran pulled his hand from the peephole quickly. He motioned for two enforcers, one with a smoke grenade and one with an electric to stand in front of the door. He placed the copy door keycard in the slot, and removed it quickly. In two seconds, the one enforcer would have to open the door, and the rush would begin.

OOC: Go ahead Brydog.

OOC: I would wait 'til next, because I think this one's almost over anyway. Just opening the door, a bunch of fight posts, and then either carting them off or watching them slip away.

OOC again: I'll tg Brydog to make sure he's still here.

awww, this looks fun. Too bad I came so late.

OOC: You liiieee! Just wait till the next episode. I'll probably have some psycho murderer in the woodlands to come after. That'll be fun eh?

IC: Trace smacked down the level style handle and pressed in with his body, while hurling a smoke grenade against the back wall. Peyton jumped out from behind him and tossed in a charge grenade, which would hopefully electrify and disable everyone in the room. Ten more people filed in, shooting rubber bullets into the haze. The enforcers had two guns. One with rubber, the other with lead. In case anyone started getting serious, they would open fire on them with the real stuff. Daniel hadn't radioed back, hopefully he was in position and nobody was trying to fly out the window. They had to keep as many people alive as possible, to try and find links to other branches of the mob. But when it came to value of life, cop topped mob.

OOC: Lictoria, have your guys fight back...or surrender, as the case may be :p
