Congressional Elections in Allanea

Allanea

ANN - As announced by our King, Napoleon the First of Allanea, Allanea will now have it's first elections for the House of Representatives of Allanea since the ODW. The house, as you know, is made deliberately large - at one Representative for a district of 4,000,000, it constitutes about 650 Members. It might be viewed as deliberately too large for some. Indeed, such is the purpose. It serves well to mitigate the power of the Federal govermnent.

Our Senate has 91 members in it, 7 from each state.

Hereby follow the programs of the three parties:

Democrats: -

Internal Policy: Support using the federal highway funds to influence internal state politics, reduce military funding to 50% of the Federal budget, lower the legal age to 14.

Foreign Policy: Support normalizing relationships with Goobergunchia and other countries.

Republicans:

Internal Politics: Oppose monetary pressure of federal Highway funds. Support raising legal age to 18 and increasing the military spending to 60% of the Federal Budget.

Foreign Policy: Normalization is necessary, but not with socialist nations.

Libertarians:

Internal Politics: Oppose monetary pressure of federal Highway funds. Support increased military spending and lowering the legal age. Also support disbanding of the federal education system.

Foreign Policy: Peace and non-interventionism.

OOC: For simplicity's sake, I'm going to run one poll for both Houses, and ignore the district polling system.

The Democratic Party of Allanea receives our applause for their pacifistic views upon the current situation of the country. We hope that they will never follow in the previous aggressive military movements of the country and cause more distress in the international community so that they may prosper in peace with Haven and the rest of the world.

The Republic of Ancient Terra applauds the Libertarian Kingdom of Allanea for taking this notable step towards peace. While we have not always seen things the same way, we have always known that you had the heart and courage to take the initiative. As your people have suffered under Imperialist rule, Terra's people have suffered with them. With the employment of democratically-elected officials, it seems as if our judgement of Allanea was not misguided. Excellent work, my friends. I look forward to continuing our history of good relations.
