The Buechorian Bundestag (Parliament):

http://img110.exs.cx/img110/5031/Buechorian-Capitol.jpg

Built in 1922 after the "Blue Star Revolution" overthrowing the Imperialistic King Hans-Georg Manfred and introducing a parliament and socialist republic system. It took 8 years to construct, and an additional 2 years to finish the solid gold statue atop the front.

OOC: The picture was acutally taken by me. And it's of a states capitol. When you post a picture of your capitol, give a brief description of how it got there.

The front of the Imperial Palace Complex, built in 1808 to celebrate the rise of the Falasturian Empire, the Imperial Palaces are the home to the Royal Family of Falastur, and are in the centre of the Old City District of Terila.

The Imperial Senate is the centre of the democratic half of Falasturian politics. Built in 1814, when the Senate played a much smaller role in Falasturian politics, the Senate building resides in the portion of Terila known as the "Government District" for its high numbers of Government offices and official buildings. It also has a commanding view out over the Atlantic Ocean.

Hmmm...I don't think I've ever thought about this before...Perhaps it's like the Hawaiian state capitol (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawaii_State_Capitol). I'll come back if I come up with a better response. 8)

The capitol is the building where the legislature meets. The capital is the city it's in.
Scatchvun-Manaris
15-11-2004, 05:49
The Capitol of Scatchvun-Manaris was completed in 1908, three years after confederacy. It is characterized by its huge black dome and its two "wings" protruding from the front. The building is located in the world's largest urban park, which is ironic, considering that Scatchvun-Manaris is comprised mostly of barren agricultural land.

Being a non-democratic nation, I suppose my capitol would be the palace(s). In which case I would have my main palace in Delidia:

And my summer palace in Kismet:

Pantheaa

Federation of Pantheaa

The Pantheaa Parliament

Bulit in 1782, The Pantheaa parliment was bulit shortly after the Pantheaa civil war between the loyalist and the commoners. With the victory of the commoners came new building projects in the capital of Salvatore. The building was once home to kings.

In 1949 the socialist party became the majority party of Pantheaa. Due to the grim outlook of capitalism in that era. But after 51 years of more government programs, higher taxes, less private investment, cuts in the military, the people no longer could support the government

So in 2002 General Roland Hahns lauched an succeusful military coup against socialist government. His first law was to outlaw presidental elections, but he decides to keep the legislative elections as a compromise to the people. So the government continues to operate under "semi-democray"

both the parliament and the Royal chambers are in Callisfjord castle, which is a gigantic, multi-walled castle that somewhat resembles Salzburg castle in Austria, except it's a lot bigger and it's black.

CAPITOL is building.

Oops

A weird building integrating Jewish synague, Catholic Church and Arabic mosque elements. In fact, it's one third each to represent the trinity of religions.

Isam
15-11-2004, 19:57
The closest thing to Isam's Capitol building would be the Council of the Church, which would be considered a cathedral in almost any state but the Holy Christian Empire of Isam (the Great Cathedral of Isam can seat well over one hundred thousand people).

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/5/5f/Toledo.jpg

The Council of the Church is located in the Holy Precinct of the captial city (Tol Isam) near the Great Cathedral. Within the Council the hierarchy of Isam, which includes the Archbishops (civil leaders), Arch-Deacons, Zealots and Flagelants (military leaders) as well as the Lord Cleric (commander of the Nazareth Stormtroopers), Chaplain-General (commands the Chaplaincy) and the Confessor (commands the offico spiritus sancti ) and is chaired by the Lord Secretary to the Holy Father. Normally the Holy Father would not attend meetings of the Council, but will often do so, where he displaces the Lord Secretary.

The Council was constructed in celebration shortly after the Empire's successful formation of the Imperial Faith Union, an alliance that brought together the various Protectorates and close allies of Isam's.

Palace of the Monarchs

Original construction began in the early 1400s as a more grandiose location for the ruling Monarchy to dwell and rule. As needs grew, so did the castle. When the Military overthrew the Monarchy 15 years ago, both to humiliate and consolidate they moved High Command to the Palace, and it now continues to be the location of the seat of Gorkonian power.

56k users don't find it easy to download large images. In fact, as I only got broadband a couple of months ago, I can still remember it taking quite a long time to open some picture heavy threads. I guess a moderator put that in as a warning, as some 56k users just try to avoid downloading more than they have to...

EDIT: (to below, didn't want to create a new post for this would become spamming) And yes, there is such a thing as a 56k user :p. In Britain, we consider 1mbps to be very, very fast. Some areas, highly populated, high value areas, don't have access to any form of internet but 56k. For some reason, Britain is the retarded country when it comes to the Internet. I don't know why, lesser countries (financially speaking) have much better internet access than we do. Just something to bear in mind when you post these sorts of threads.

Korinthos
15-11-2004, 23:14
Korinthos Capitol Building

The Korinthos Capitol Building was originally built in 1282 by the Ancient Kithirans in the capital city of Rhodes. The building was used from 1282-1536 under the Patrai Family in the Kithiran Empire, but was abandoned in 1537 when the Empire broke up, and was reused from 1602-1617 by the Katerini Family who formed a new Empire, but they soon moved their capital to Amalias. The Capitol wasn't to be used until 1921 when the Skiros Family united Korinthos to make the Korinth Union. Under the Skiros, Korinthos made the transition from Monarchy to Socialism in 1923 and than back to Monarchy in 1962. The Skiros than moved the capital again to Amalias in 1992, Milos in 1999, and finally back to Rhodes in 2004 where the Korinth Union dissolved and the nation of Korinthos emerged where the Monarchy may also dissapear and change to Democracy or even back to a Socialism.

I asked for it to be put in there. Especially the pictures of Presgreif and Falastur are just too big. Now. I have a huge monitor and an 8 MB internet connection but I do remember the days when I had 56k and this thread makes 56k users cry.

Largent
16-11-2004, 02:01
The Largentian Royal Palace is our nation's capitol. It was established in the year 2210. Its builders were the victors of a feirce civil war that broke out amongst Old Largent, nothing more than neighboring tribes. This picture shows the main part of it although it does have many other sections. It is home the the Emperor and his Imperial Guards. No one else resides here.

It is covered with Largent's finest art, gold, silver, and jewels.

Myojin
16-11-2004, 02:24
This was once a former prison, but with the reforming of the prisons in Myojin, in the 1950's, it was left to ruin, in forgotten realms until the Federation needed a headquaters, for it's "ruling" body. It was converted to the Capitol building in the 1960's, and it still remains today.
