From the Humble Beginning, of Isam [CLOSED]

It appeared that from a humble beginning would arise something greater. Rather like it was given, the 'rising from the ashes' represented The Holy Christian Empire of Isam much like the mystical bird known perhaps only as the Pheonix. How long the christian dominion had been in a state of non-socialization, the people and Fuhrer of the Nationalist Repubblica hardly knew. However such time-detail was considerd only as irrelevant, for only the future held possibility, not the past.

Indigo had recieved the message from Joseph Caotin, apparently the Lord Cleric of the Nazareth Stormtoopers, whomever they may be. It seemed from that what little he knew of that nation, these Stormtroopers were some kind of security force, and had already been recorded to watch over the nation's church proceedings. Perhaps they were like the Brigata Nazionalista Di Sicurezza, with a certainty of a public twist, and perhaps they were not. Only a further education could truly tell, and that was something Indigo was quite willing to obtain. With ink prepared for paper, he scribbled a reply which would most definatly be delivered sometime within that week, or but a second if electronic equipment was desired for use.

TO: Joseph Caotin, Lord Cleric of the Nazareth Stormtoopers; Isam
FROM: Indigo Blue, Fuhrer of the Nationalist Repubblica; Austar Union
SUBJECT: Re: Future Relational Discussion
--------------------------------------------

Personally, I am rather pleased to hear that you desire further talks with myself so we may engage in discussion of topics in general and non-general nature. Please find enclosed within this letter information regarding the coordinates of the Austar Union. We are indeed an earthly nation, but then this world is far too large to have a complete understanding of its existance. This response to your message may be considered an invitation for a personal audience, if you wish.

The streets and halls of Anatoba City will always welcome you, friend of myself and the people of my nation.

At the time that the message reached Caotin, he was busily muttering various insults and curses at a set a papers illustrating the activities of a set of isolationist rebels. Certain people persisted in arguing against the words of Holy Mother Church, and there was no room in the Holy Empire for heretics. Fortunately their numbers were few at present, the surgeon's tools of Chaplain and Nazareth could still be used, there was no need for the metaphorical axe of the Armies of Isam.

Joseph read the message with a faint smile before sitting down to write his response. As with most of Isam's messages, it took a more traditional format. The Church liked tradition, and who was the Lord Cleric to question?

To Indigo Blue, Fuhrer of the Nationalist Repubblica of Austar Union,

I thank you for your swift response, despite the many pressures of a newly appointed ruler. I look forward to meeting you in person, and to seeing Anatoba City. As to topics of discussion, both "general and non-general" are useful starting points between natons with a recent change in government or ruler. Naturally, the invitation is mirrored, and we look forward to pleasure of your company in Tol Isam.
I should be able to leave for Austar Union shortly, and will be arriving via a private Church jet. I will be accompanied by two Air-Wings of the Second Air-Fleet, who will turn back once I cross into your airspace.

I thank you for your welcome, know that you are in the prayers of the Hierarchy.

Signed and Sealed by the Grace of God,
Joseph Caotin,
Lord Cleric of the Nazareth Stormtroopers.

Indigo was rather pleased with the response, and knew to prepare for his guest to arrive. Although there was no set date on his arrival, the man with a color for a name could reside in the fact that it wouldnt be far too long, and that the Lord Cleric at least knew to wait for given time to make arrangements. Anyhow, it would take some swift organising skills, and the city would be ready; this wouldnt take more than one week at most. Indigo was fond of making his guests feel welcome.

Within just a few hours, he had found a new use for his own private security forces. Not only would the Brigata Nazionalista Di Sicurezza act as a policing force, but they would be heavily involved in the preparation of the city and airport of which the foriegn guest was to land. A minor national uniform was to be prepared, not one of full body proportions, but one quiet simple, but enough to show the concept of respect. Men would be wearing a black band around their right wrist, and women on their left. It was a simple idea, yet effective enough to enforce. Anyone not found abiding by the rules would be arrested, and charged accordingly. Of course, this rule would only apply on the day of the Lord Cleric's arrival.

Anatoba City was ready, and the nation was prepared for the man who held much potention for not just his own nation, but others across the globe.

Appromoxately one week later...

Joseph Caotin leaned back in his seat, idly watching the port city of Tol Matthew as his converted 757 flew over it, once over the sea he turned back to his work.

Shortly afterwards he picked up his on-board telephone and dialled.

"Cleric Kyrnin please. Thank you.

Yes, inform the Nationalist Repubblica that I am on my way, I should be there in a couple of hours.

Thank you"

He replaced the phone and looked around at the other Nazareth sitting around him, talking quietly amongst themselves, praying, or just sitting quietly or sleeping. He gave a slight shrug and went back to his work, reading up on what little the Holy Christian Empire knew of the Austar Union.

OOC: Little I can really do to respond to that... :/ Go right up to the point of when your guy meets Indigo at the airport; expect a large crowd, but a large security presense to match. I dont mind you being creative with the plot till then.

[[OOC: I know, I was just doing the flight and didn't have time to finish the post]]
[[OOC: This is basically what a Nzareth Stormtrooper (http://www.wargames.ru/newspics/tn379_preview.jpg) would like, but in black and with a gas mask/helmet rather than camo]]

The plane circled the airport once to allow its pilot to make sure he knew where he was landing - and to allow the Nazareth on board to watch for snipers on roofs. Regardless of whether or not the government were friendly, people sometimes took offense at foreigners. Particularly foreigners with reputations like Isam.

Shortly afterward, the plane had landed and lowered its stairs. Four Nazareth left the plane first in full gear minus helmets and masks, although in deference to the occasion their grenades and Justifications (assault rifle used by the Nazareth) stayed on the plane. At the base of the stairs they turn and stand, two to each side watching the impressively sized crowd. At an unknown signal they salute, hand to heart and then head, as the Lord Cleric descended to the tarmac, followed by another four Nazareth. While the Stormtrooper uniform is black, the Lord Cleric's is a shining white, which even in broad daylight managed the effect of a beacon before the black Nazareth.

The four Nazareth behind the Lord Cleric turned to Indigo and saluted him, as the original four saluted Caotin, then joined their comrades at the base of the steps. While the Nazareth rearranged themselves, the Lord Cleric walked toward Indigo, smiling and waving at the crowd.

Joseph was privately impressed at the new Great Comrade's organisation at getting such a crowd of civillians and enough security to keep them in line, of course in Isam such a thing was easy. But in Isam the people would do anything ordered by the Church - it hard to go against the System in a place like the Holy Christian Empire, where a wrong word (even in the privacy of your own home) could mean questioning by the Chaplaincy.

Indigo, being partially Italian, greeted the Lord Cleric with a gentle kiss on the right cheek. Perhaps it had not seemed so important at first, but the average person would fail to realise the tradition of such a notion. The kiss, symbolising a meeting of friendship and embrace of arrival, the right cheek symbolising the approval of the right-wing. Anyhow, there was no use for pondering, for the crowd would surely grow tired.

"I have been looking forward to your arrival sir. We have much to discuss, and much to consider. Welcome to this nation."

Indigo turned and waved to the crowd, showing his approval of the visitor, and almost instantly the people took a liking to the Lord Cleric. Such people needed a strong leader like Mr. Blue; as they had proven through history. Nations like the Austar Union had always been blessed with a history of great leaders, perhaps this was the secret to its success. And so with hand on his visitor's back, Indigo privatley escoted the Lord Cleric to the car, where he allowed his guest to enter first. Waving to the crowd one more time, he turned and dissapeared behind the tinted, bullet-proof windows.

As the car pulled away, the Lord Cleric's own security teams were allowed into a following car behind, which also comprised of the Fuhrer's select few. It was no less than a convoy of vehicles, one of which was heavily guarded; one of which would make a great target for any estranged individuals. None the less, no such individuals really existed within the Nationalist Repubblica, and the two leaders were left to converse during their travel. Even if it was idle chatter, it made the ride all the more enjoyable.

Still, they never would have noticed the select few back at the airport, who had some very interesting ideas of their own.

Joseph smiled at the greeting, recognising full well its significance. In response raised a hand and blessed Indigo in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, before turning and doing the same to the crowd as the Fuhrer waved.

"Thank you for your welcome, Fuhrer Blue, it is a pleasure to be welcomed so."

The Lord Cleric allowed himself to be led to the car, seated himself quietly and leant back into the seat, stirring for a second to a adjust his perfectly white armour.

As the Lord Cleric and the Fuhrer spoke of inconsequential things, the eight Nazareth who had accompanied Caotin from the plane seated themselves in the cars behind the one in which the two leaders sat, one the leader of nation, one a man who defended his nation for God.

As the cars pulled out the stairs of the plane were pulled up, and the remaining Nazareth settled down to watch the events via the Eyes of Angels satellite surveillance network.

Travelling home did not take so long, and Indigo was much pleased with the Lord Cleric as he conversed general, and useless topics with him in the back of the sleek, black car. Little trouble there was also; people would turn at the sight of the Fuhrer's convoy, but any more reaction did not follow. He was a popular man, but people knew better than to literally swarm his cars, especially when there was a foriegn visitor. In the meantime, as the Lord Cleric watched out the window, he would have surely noticed the national respect uniform; a band on the arm of each man and woman. Simple, yet effective, there were only few who failed to follow suit.

Reaching the Imperial House, Indigo led the Lord Cleric inside, of course with the assistant of his staff. All visitors within the Nationalist Repubblica were treated with dignity, as if they were kings and queens of the Austar Union itself. Of course, not one actually mistook a visitor for their true leader, but one ought to show respect to those visiting another. The visit of the Lord Cleric was most certainly a blessing, perhaps one from God himself. Anyhow, leading his friend inside, they went directly to one of the rooms within, one where the Lord Cleric could relax amongst the expensive, mahogony style furniture. Austarians certainly had a passion for expensive, material posessions, and Indigo was far from different.

Sitting down in one of the chairs, Indigo watched as the Lord Cleric had his every need attended to before beginning the proper, more official talks.

"Im glad you could make it. We are always proud to have visitors within our borders. Please, consider this nation as your own. I want you to relax and enjoy yourself, feel at home." he begun. He paused thoughtfully for a second before continuing, "So, how goes everything in Isam?"

Joseph did indeed notice the national uniform, but rather than mentioning it aloud filed it away mentally. However, what surprised him more than the national uniform was the lack of response to the Fuhrer's passing - in Isam most civillians bowed toward a vehicle known to be carrying any important member of the Church, often accompanied by prayers for their good health. On the few occasions that a Holy Father had left the Holy Precinct the entire street had genuflected, pressing forehead to the road and all of them murmured prayers. But then, in Isam the Church was held absolute in all matters, and more importantly was considered the road to God. Not only that, but the people had been indoctrinated with Church dogma from infancy.

When the Lord Cleric entered the Imperial House, four of the Nazareth positioned themselves beside the main doors with hands clasped behind their backs, and two just inside the entrance. The other two followed the Lord Cleric, taking up position just to either side of the door outside the room where the Fuhrer and Lord Cleric were to talk. If asked, none of the Nazareth would accept anything to drink except water, and nothing to eat but bread (without condiment) or fruit. If pressed, they would explain that they were under an order of fasting, but would deflect any further questions.

Joseph glanced around the room, automatically noting possible routes of escape or threat, and admiring the furniture - similar to the quarters of the many of the Hierarchy, including his own, but his rooms were on a much less extravegant scale. Caotin seated himself, still armoured but apparently having forgotten about his uniform, opposite Indigo Blue and smiled his acceptance of food and drink, but refused any alchoholic beverage.

"Thank you for your welcome, and I hope that you or one of your officials can come to Isam sometime soon that we may return the favour. Although we are taught that pride is a sin, I am proud to be here.
"In Isam all goes well, save for a few isolationists who oppose the new Holy Father. They will have been dealt with within a few days."

That last sentence said with total confidence, and an absolute determination to make it so.

"How does the Austar Union progress, and how are you finding rulership?"

OOC: Apoligies for time-delays, been so busy!

Indigo smiled, "Actually, things within the Union are rather smooth. Since the introduction of my new regime, the nation has overall been much more of a success in every aspect. The food is richer, the people are happier, the wine is much, much more expensive. Many have told proverbs that one can play now and pay later, but in all respect I do truly believe it is possible to play all the time. At least, our problems are handed to God above, so he solves anything standing in the path of this nation."

He had noticed the Lord Cleric being quite inquisitive about the motions of the nation, but rather than answering his questions he rather addressed what was important.

"I hear that the church is incredibly powerful within the domestic operations of your nation. Our church isnt so powerful in the idea that people must follow its leadership, but rather the people choose to follow God and the leaders he has placed into existance, including myself. You would have noticed that people here are hardly oppressed regarding their day to day desisions. Some societies live under a state of perpetual fear of making mistakes according to the government presiding. Ours rather live under a choice of cooporation and respect. Love your leaders and respect them, and they will love and respect you in kind."

Indigo smiled as he pondered the very statement before continuing.

"I do apoligise if I come accross as rather blunt in diplomatic terms. I am rather new to the job, and I am better at social events rather than official visits rather then these."

A thin smile appeared again on the Lord Cleric's face as he thought through the words that Indigo Blue spoke.

"I am glad to hear that your rule has resulted in a greater benefit for your people, and that you accept that God has placed you there.
"As you say, the Imperial Faith controls most aspects of life for our citizens, but that is not just due to our religious obligations - we are the government as well as Church for the citizens of Isam."

A short pause as Joseph Caotin collected his thoughts, and pondered how to phrase his next statement.

"While I accept that you would prefer your people to choose to follow the Lord Our God, I cannot help but see flaws in such a system. Forgive me, my training shows, while it is true that many states force their people to live in fear of a State whose whims change with every election or new ruler, the people of Isam do not need to worry about such things. Firstly, they are educated almost from birth, secondly, our domestic policies have remained static for generations. Most importantly, however, we do it for their good."

This is, perhaps, the crux of the Holy Christian Empire's policies - not that they believe in the Imperial Faith, but that they force it into their poplace in the firm belief that the atrocities that are comitted are for the good of the individuals in question.

"Let us take, for example, a person who rejects God, and who goes about breaking His law in small ways. That person will burn in Hell, while he has only made small errors, he has broken the Lord's will and although it is true that Our Lord is all-loving, the punishment must be administered, regardless of whether God forgives this poor heretic later. What we do, we do to save the souls of our citizens...if we capture a heretic he is flagellated for a reason - to purge his sins."

He spreads his hands, as though helpless

"Many have condemned our actions, but we are still here. That, I think, is among the truest proofs that God favours us."

Caotin pauses there, to allow the Fuhrer to take in what has been told. No diplomat would have said such things, but then Joseph was not a diplomat, he was Lord Cleric of the Nazareth, and would not hide behind honeyed words. Indeed, one of the things to most endear Indigo Blue to him, was the Fuhrer's last comment.

"Indeed sir, it is a most certain fact that God does fear his people. You know, I can appreciate other understandings of the Word. Personally, I am quite relaxed in nature. The ruling church here is known as the Assemblies of God. Your's however, appear to be a strange mix of catholic, with more of a Isamic (OOC: Thats not a typo) edge. Your people are passionate, something few do have.

I am not aware strongly of the history of Isam, but honestly it doesnt faze me at all, good or bad. I know that people react differently to different circumstances, and this is what makes the world so interesting. Without such difference, we would be little more than an ant colony, wouldnt you say?"

Indigo chuckled and took a sip of wine.

'Forgive me for my relaxed attitude. I came into this meeting with you expecting something much more formal, but lately I have had a change of heart. I want friends, not official relations if you understand my tone. I consider you, and the people of Isam friends of both myself, and the people of Austar Union."

[[OOC: sorry about the delay]]

A thin smile.

"If you meant to say that God fears for his people, I would agree with you on that point. By its very name, I take it that the Assemblies of God take into account more religions than the Church of the Imperial Faith does - although we accept any reasonable monotheist into the fold. As to the Imperial Faith, while we do possess many Catholic similarities along with our own interpretations of the holy texts, some tennants of our faith come from other sources after being verified by the Holy Father."

His smile becomes slightly less serious as he moves onto the topic of his people's passion.

"We try to encourage passion and desire for the Church's works, and many of us are proud of our achievements - something which proves a constant irritation as a source of confession. While ant colonies have much desireable about them, I agree with you in that uniqueness is something valuable...within limits. After all, if certain people had not followed their own path we would have certain technologies that are at our disposal - such as the Hammer of God."

A short sip of his drink, which has remained largely untouched due to the preiod of fasting ordered by himself. A faintly amused smile graces his face, pulling at a faint scar, inflicted long ago during his initial training.

"I am glad to hear that you are looking for friendship rather than a more official tone - the Christ said 'love they neighbour', not 'bore thy neighbour to death', and I am glad that the feeling is mutual"
