OOC: Ok, after 2 failied attempts at a temporal RP (one of which being Demon Wars 2), I'm looking at strike 3. But this time around, I'm trying something a bit different with the story.

IC:

10,000 BC, on a large island where the Azores now lie

Sorath was watching his screen, as it slowly uncoded the last info needed for the time conduit to work. If this worked, then his people would be able to go back in time and stop the Zoir from destroying their home planet.

A hand was placed on his shoulder. It was his partner, Uridia. She smiled. "Have you heard?"

"Heard what?" he asked.

She continued to grin "The seige of Athens has begun. Soon the rebellion will be crushed forever"

Sorath frowned "First Egypt, now Athens. I'm not liking this direction of conquest we're embarking on. We didn't like it when the Zoir did it to us, but now we're being hyipocritical"

"Bullshit" she said, he smile fading "We arn't blowing up planets"

"But we're razing cities. Same thing, smaller scale" he replied. Uridia shook her head slowly, then walked out of the room, leaving Sorath to finish his work. Little did he know, however, that in just over a day, the beauitiful city he knew would only be a memory.....a myth.

Present day

The Explorer wasn't a standard line of Atlantian sub-crafts. Then agian, how could it, seeing as how there where no standard lines of Atlantian Submeries. It decended down through the Atlantic ocean, on it's quest to find a sunken city that had fallen off the face of Terren maps when the last Ice age ended.

A message was sent from the sub to a small Scarab shuttle craft in orbit around the Earth "This is Explorer team to base. I think.....I think we may have found something"

A reply was sent "Good. Can you give us a visual?" The visual was sent, and it included a glorious view of the majestic city.

Xol stood up from his seat in the Shuttle "By the gods...." Sing was equally impressed. Xol turned to the navigational officer, Akin.

"Can this puppy swim?" he asked. Akin shook his head.

"No, but I can get close enough to let you guys jump out" he said, half joking.

"Good, do it" said Xol. Akin's face turned from amusment to seriousness.

Xol spoke to the Explorer team "Hold tight. We're jumping in"

"Gotya. We'll pick you up" replied the Team. Sing and Zol finished getting their swimming gear on, and opened the door to the shuttle. It was now hovering 3 feet above the water.

"Last one in's a rotten egg" grinned Xol. He jumped in.

"Immature little..." Sing followed, leaving Akin and two others on board.

About an hour later, the Explorer had picked up the two officers and had travled back below the depths of the sea. It had now parked on what appeared to be the biggest "airport" in the city. Nearby was the "Capital".

"Remember guys, we can only stay underwater for so long before the pressure crushes us" said Bel, one of the two Explorer team members. The other one, Gelon, nodded.

"Well, what are we waiting for?" asked Xol. He opened the hatch and stepped outside. The 4 explorers ran for the building, knowing they only had 20 minutes of exploring at most.

Inside, to their suprise, there was no water. They took off their helmets, and breathed the old, stuffy air. A short while later, they had made it to the main control room, and Sing turned on the power. A big, red button was on the far side of the room. Underneath it, it said "Escape Module Lauch". Xol hesitated for a moment, then pushed it. The building they where in, along with several others, shot out from the rest of the city and didn't stop until they had surfaced above the waves.

"Woah..." said Xol. A panel opened with smaller buton that said "Secondary Intersteller launch"

"Don't press it" said Sing.

"I'm not a moron" Xol replied. The team then began exploring the room, looking for technology that they could use.

"Ok, fire it up!"

The specially-designed temporal research cruiser Electric Ladyland, adapted from a Type E independent cruiser, hums with activity as power is siphoned to its ridiculously expensive and complicated time travel mechanism. How time travel to the past is being achieved is still largely a mystery to the people who are about to make it happen, and more than one source has pointed to the strange gifts which turned up at the Pope's 3,569th birthday extravaganza, which apparently were addressed for Universal Sector Q, but turned up at the Pope's birthday party due to a quirk in the extra-universal shipping channels.

But anyway, the ship glows with life as the crew goes through the tedious process of testing every single system on the ship. It sits outside a specially-built construction scaffold in some far off solar system in the Perseus arm. The top physicists of LRR watch as the ship gets ready for its historic voyage. Many are embarked on the 1km-diameter saucer, the biggest available platform for mounting the mammoth temporal drives. The craft is painted grey-white with the LRR flag emblazened onto one region of the saucer's surface.

"All systems are go," reports the AI.

OOC: ok, here's how it goes. I had this long post, but then the site ate it (it logged me out somehow when I tried to post the message). So instead of making it agian, I'll just make an overview.

Xol activated a Tesseract, and a surviving Neo-Atlantian, Exo, has snuck aboard and jumped through the portal.

Sorry about the shortness.

"So, where are we headed?"
"Earth, the year 1983 A.C.E."
"Ah. Very good."
"Yes, we're going to see the Stop Making Sense tour before we get to business."
"An excellent plan."

Captain Zimbra, a robot, unpacks his giant cream suit. All over the converted cruiser, now known as 'Temoral Research Vessel Type Z,' the crew gets ready to jump into space over hollywood, california, to catch the last show of the Talking Heads' Stop Making Sense tour.

The Electric Ladyland glows with energy as it prepares to go to the past. Physicists line the shipyard windows, watching teary-eyed as the ship slides out of dock, to the tune of "Voodoo Child."

"All systems check out...all crew brace for temporal jump!"

In a larger-than-normal and quite spectacular flash of light, the Electric Ladyland embarks on its great journey.
