Read some of the posts. If you find someone you like, read more of their posts.

Here's a tip as well - the profile tab up under the 'NationStates' banner there at the top? Check it. Use the subscriptions. And um ... keep track of your posts. This one is a repeat, or the other one is.

It seems you missed it or something. At any rate ... there's plenty of tools here that can make your posting and keeping track of things easier. Use 'em - it really can make a difference.

Alright i just started playing this game, and i have read the faq, but i was wondering if somebody could provide a little more information. Like how do you get an army/build one up? And what exactly is the point of having an army if you can go to war? And can anything happen if you get too corrput like a civil war or something? I realize these are noob questions, but if somebody could clear them up for me i would be very greatful.

To build an army, start a thread about them, thir equiptment, and possibly asking for help. Everything is up to you, if you want to "correct" any "corruption" with "freedom fighters", then you can. Just type it up in a thread. Its a free-form RP, so you can do pretty much anything. Just be careful about wars when you are a small nation. You might get nuked or glassed like the old "Hataria" or "Gondor of Old". Also beware of IGNORE cannons. If you act like the USA when you're not even the size of Madigascar, then cool your jets. It helps if you check the stickeys and the populations of those you are going to attack. Don't be a 5 million nation invading someone like AMF.
