It was announced that the Sentrøkommytti, under advisement from Prime Minister Stårk Räving-Måd, has approved a measure to allow cloning and medical use of said clones for research. When asked why he approved over the protests from a small yet vocal opposition group, he replied, "Well, why not?"
The PM was in the capital city of Reyesloo for a luncheon meeting with scientists who backed the plan.
In other news, PM has decided not to pursue the issue of whether to allow organ donors to be compensated for said donations. Mr Räving-Måd said that owing to the recent cloning bill, it seemed like this was no longer an issue.
Also in Reyesloo, an unarmed man barricaded himself in his bedroom. No one knows why, and the police aren't going to investigate.
The stock market was buoyed by reports that the lime harvest was going well, and that the crops were the largest in years. The Kellesbørn Index rose 3% to 7329.25.

Today, the Sentrøkommytti decided not to re-criminalise marijuana despite pressure from interest groups and one or two religious groups. Secretary of State Per Øhlin stated that there was still no evidence that it led to higher crime and other useage, while anti-marijuana leader Hans Offme said that was a load of tripe. Pro-pot leader Sven-Ole "Dink" Dinkkersonn was reported as yelling to his friend to not bogart the joint.
The Army is still looking for someone to fight. So far, General Jan Maris says "We are just not satisfied with the potential enemies of Savrilistag. We need someone better than those {expletive}s next door!" He was referring to the Digglers, 14 Karsonn Str N14 92S, Keglersberge.
A man was killed in his home today. Police found that he had been using a hair dryer in the bath in direct contradiction to the warning on the cord. His estate was fined 50 Kraels (KR50) for his idiocy.
The stock market was closed today because it's Saturday. So there.

It is believed that the Sentrøkommytti will not consider banning the latest book from author J.K. Rowling. Several religious leaders had petitioned the government to ban all book by the well-known author on the grounds that they were just evil incarnate. The Minister for Education stated that "...I know a well-written book from a horribly written book, but I couldn't tell an evil book from a good book if I tried." Further, he stated "...we have long believed that censorship is inherantly wrong. We have not begun, nor shall we ever begin the censorship of books because of a vocal minority."
The Rt.Rev. Jens Merklund said, through a faxed letter, that he would not simply give up the fight. From the letter: "This series of novels is nothing but a thinly disguised books of evil crafts with only one purpose; to turn our children from the One True Path."
The author had no comment.
Tomorrow, the Prime Minister is expected to give approval to the Municipal Video Securities Act, thus paving the way for limited use of CCTV cameras in Major Municipalities. Mr Räving-Måd stated that by limiting the usage, "...the freedoms that define out nation will remain, and [our nation's] security will be moved forward." Despite this assurance, many throughout Savrilistag are voicing concern that their privacy may be compromised. (More details may be provided tomorrrow)
In a recent poll, most citizens are very happy with the way Prime Minister Räving-Måd has conducted affairs of the state since his election.
