Colin, the self-proclaimed Supreme Spiritual Leader of the Nation, has been overthrown by the masses after the shocking revelation that he is in fact much smaller than he looks in the giant banners strung across Government buildings.
The leader of the formerly secret People's Party of Torching Witches, Alan, has taken over interim leadership of the country, and is popular amongst many of the religious traditionalists in the country.
However, with the revolution has come a number of voices who were too afraid to speak out against the old order. These are:
Barry, of the Internationalist Party, who wants to sit around big tables with other national leaders and get on telly a lot.
Florence, of the Republican Party, who wants referendums on every tiny issue, even those where the people's bigotry would cause the vote to be completely wrong.
Harriet, of the Industrial Party, who wants to dig big holes everywhere in the name of the economy.
The Torching Witches natives are quite religious, and enjoy a good knees-up around the bonfire. But who should they choose? Who will do the least damage. This is your opportunity to use lobbying power and propaganda ot influence the future of this never great nation:

The Holy Empire of Torching Witches is a very large, devout nation, remarkable for its strong anti-business politics. Its compassionate, cynical population of 126 million are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings."
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, moralistic, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of the Environment, Law & Order, and Defence. The average income tax rate is 100%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising fourteen-year-old boys selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.
Sex offenders find themselves 'cut off' from any ability to repeat their crimes, membership in the state-owned Church of Torching Witches is mandatory and all other faith organisations are banned, a government program is underway to revitalize Torching Witches's beaches, and anti-environmentalist protesters are gunned down without mercy. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Torching Witches's national animal is the witch sniffer dog, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the glowing ember.
