And so it ends... [OOC: NG calls it quits]

New Genoa

INTERNATIONAL MESSAGE:
As confirmed by Congress by...

It has become quite evident that former allies and friends of New Genoa have bitterly upset the republic beyond repair. We used to see these nations as friendly, rational nations. But now as changes settle in, our eyes have been opened to the filth that has fattened these self-consumed monsters formerly known as New Genoese allies.

There was a time, many years ago, when the Allied Powers Treaty Organization was a unified force that did not need any restrictions of sovereignty. There was a time when we did not bicker over petty squabbles such as simple suggestions to amend the rules. We did not need a reactionary attitude. We merely dismissed it and clearly explained that APTO was built on trust and loyalty, not negotiated deathtraps. But all of that has shriveled and died because a handful of once respected nations have hypocritically left the APTO for its decaying meaning... a meaning that they have decayed with their self-consumption in their own gains...

New Genoa has and always has tried to act as a mediator. We have tried to keep together the fine thread that held APTO together with rational words. We have never complained, just explained our point of view in an attempt to show that we care for both sides of any argument that had its grasp upon APTO. Hell, when New Genoa did not attend the first conference, guns were drawn as men foolishly became children. Petty disputes and arrogant pride have destroyed APTO. Do not blame APTO's devaluing on it, blame yourselves for ripping it apart gradually. The agenda of APTO has become personal, no longer for what was good. New Genoa has become disgusted. New Genoa has grown weary of being ignored. Why is it that only the most extreme are paid attention to, but the rational are ignored? Is it an excuse to wear away the foundations of what we so sorely worked together to build in one's own lust for power? New Genoa will not remain silent. And such deeds have amounted to a final decision.

Diplomatic and trade ties will be cut with the following nations. Since New Genoa is not a war-oriented society of any type, we see no need to send out expeditions to bring back the old. We see no need to start a trade war by placing sanctions or tariffs. We merely wish to be left alone, especially by the following nations. Immigration and travel will not cease between New Genoa and these nations, but consider all other friendships dissolved.

We so no need to make any further additions for we see these as the firebrands of the riot of APTO and thus they have received what they deserve.

New Genoa will be entering a long period of isolation, similar to how you have isolated us from your petty politics. Our ears will fall deaf to any pleas, similar to how your ears fell deaf to ours. We are bitter. We wish to remain alone.

This bill was passed by the New Genoese Congress and signed by President Derek Jackson.

<OOC:

Ok, so I'm done with NS. The last thing I was holding onto was the unity in my region, but now that an IC quarrel has totally ripped things apart, I believe it is my time to say goodbye. This isn't an OOC vendetta against anyone. Ok? And will I come back? Maybe. I may post as another nation if I so see a roleplay fit to start. But just like anything else I start that doesn't have the words "WAR WAR WAR" or doesn't involve Melkor Unchained, I doubt it'll be even read by anyone, let alone posted to.

The General forum is a cesspool and now that my region has left me, there is no more need to remain here at Nationstates. I'll still pop in at the NS mIRC channel if some of those who hate me don't ban me first. It's been fun. But now NS is empty. -Region-Roleplay-General=Gone.

I doubt anyone will really care. But hey, whatever. Just lettin' you know.

As I recall, membership is voluntary. Just as you have every right to do what you choose, so do we.

Instead of blindly laying down blame, perhaps you should look at it. Nobody forced anyone to leave. They did so for their reasons.

You should also consider why so many did leave. I am not saying you are to blame, but you should not blame us. We left because we felt unhappy with APTO.

Would people happy with APTO consider leaving? We are staunch members, always have, always will. Most of us defended APTO when they threw punches at us. Everyone of the veterans ran to your defense, NG, when Melkor attacked you.

Do not point fingers and your anger at us. We chose to leave, we didn't force anyone. Ask yourself why we left. Because we were not happy with APTO, not because we were not happy with you.

There's a difference between voluntarily leaving peacefully and causing an uproar whilst doing so. We respect your decision to leave, but the blame placed squarely on the problems of APTO are not because of APTO, they're because of your own selves. This has been the last New Genoese diplomatic statement. Really, we're serious this time!

You've been a great RPer and player, NG. I've been with your region since what, May 2003? Just sucks that it ends this way. Thanks for everything.

Here's hoping for a return.

The United Republics of Tiburon urges New Genoa, one of its oldest allies and a fellow nation commited to upholding and spreading the blessings of liberty and freedom around the world, to continue its noble work, especially now, in these ages of darkness. While we recognize that we have no authority mandating this, it would be in everyone's best interests if New Genoa continues its most noble work.

(OOC: Come on, man. Don't leave. Please.)

"Well thats hypocritical. How are we in an uproar? We got displeased, and we left, WITHOUT pourposly trying to screw over your pritty little "Alliance". You on the other hand, continue to lay blame and bitch at us for our faults. Well sir, now I remember why Terrans are such incompotent fools, and why your race will never be uinted as one, like ours is. Go take a swim in the river Styx.

Sad to see you go, even if I hate you IC'ly. You did give me a home on NS after my region failed. Here's hoping you come back soon. *raises glass*

(OOC: Alas, farewell, New Genoa... I blame myself entirely for the conundrum that has occurred within the APTO, although I (still) find it hard to understand what I did wrong. Therefore, I apologize for you inability to host the sixth APTO conference, resulting in departure of over twelve nations from the APTO. I apologize profusely for my inability to rise up to the situation, allowing the situation at the conference to deteriorate into a shouting, brawling match, with taunts, curses, and threats hurled all around.

I will remain faithful to the APTO and maintain my nation's position within the alliance, keeping a bit of your legacy alive on NationStates. Although my nation is a member of many alliances, I will hold membership within the APTO as a treasure. I will strive to make the APTO grow and allow to prosper, so that when you return we will eclipse what has been built in the past.

Before you depart NationStates and enter a period of contemplation and living a life, I leave you with these words, spoken by the British Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli, "Great services are not canceled by one act or by one single error." Farewell, New Genoa and may the rest of your life be more fruitful and meaningful than your experiences on NationStates.)

IC:

A full honor guard of two hundred Black Watch Imperial Guardsmen stand at attention, one hundred guards to a line, facing each other. As one, all of them unsheathe their swords and salute, a lasting tribute to the departure of New Genoa...

New legislation regarding the repeal of the previous "New Genoa First" bill is in discussion. It is unknown whether the bill will be signed by President Jackson, with bitter tastes still present.

When informed of the New Genoese decision, Adminstrator Delta shrugged. "So? Another of the weak hearted leave. Whoop-dee-doo. Now how the hell do my gaurds keep letting you damn reporters into my command truck?"

OOC: Buh bye NG.
