Since independent Kingdoms in the Empire are starting to establish diplomatic relations on their own, I thought a Kingdom by Kingdom thread might be better. The first post will be a list of countries having embassies here. The second will be countries where we have embassies.

Dragonsreach, as you well know, has already sent an ambassador as a permanent liason between our countries. We are in the process of building a diplomatic embassy in your borders, per our previous agreement. It would be our greatest pleasure to house a like ambassador within the Capitol of Dragonsreach. A building would be provided that would meet your approval, however, none may be built as Kern, the capital, is an ancient city created long ago by the elves, it's buildings having been raised by the very crystal of the island upon which it rests, and no other structures may be placed upon it for the preservation of it's purity of construction. There are many buildings available to you, however, should which to make a permanent embassy here. We would advise, however, that any such action be put off until the current crisis here is resolved, at which point the Queen, herself, will be in contact with you concerning the matter.

We are in the process of establishing diplomatic relations with other states, with the intention of forging strong trade unions that cut across all cultural and technological boundaries.
We would be most gratified if your government would also establish an embassy in our capital of EdenBurgh.
It would further facilitate future trade agreements if your ambassador could bring along some examples of your Empire's products.

Our representitve will bring along a sample of our exports, including gold, furs, leathers, personal elctronics, and finely fashioned plasmadyne relays.

Note that as we currently in the region of City Ankh Morpork, please make sure that your representitve is one who is able to deal with trolls, vampires, warewolves, dwarves, talking dogs, and humans all as equals, trade partners, even friends.

Enemy Embassies Policy

There is a prevailing mood in the international community that regular diplomatic relations are something shared only among friends and that diplomatic solutions between mutually hostile states are to be sought only in ending a war or trying to prevent an imminent armed conflict. All of this goes very much against Danaan foreign policy. Regular diplomatic conflict between hostile states can prevent wars before they start by negotiating disputes, allow for the peaceful coexistence of ships, stations, and unmanned equipment in international waters and international space, and generally contribute to the peace of the world. However, as such embassies cannot be expected to function in the same open environment as friendly embassies, the Foreign Ministry of the Danaan High Kingdom establishes the following policy on hostile embassies.

Section 1: Definition
Article 1: Any nation which has, through past and present action, indicated specific hostility towards the Danaan High Kingdom shall be defined as hostile.
Article 2: Any nation governed by an ideology innately hostile to the Danaan people and the Danaan way of life shall be defined as hostile. Such ideologies include, but are not limited to, communism, racialism, and theocratic fundamentalism.
Article 3: Minor and legitimate disputes over trade, pollution, and other issues where responsible nations may disagree do not fall under Article 1.
Article 4: Differences in government such as prevail among free and responsible peoples do not fall under Article 2.

Section 2: Security
Article 1: The Danaan High Kingdom acknowledges that the legitimate interests of hostile nations might require an unusually large security detachment in their embassy here. The Danaan High Kingdom, however, reserves the right to match such a presence in the Danaan Embassy to such a nation on a gun for gun and man for man basis.
Article 2: The Danaan High Kingdom excepts that hostile nations might feel the need to restrict her embassy personnel moreso than the international norm. The Danaan High Kingdom will always place identical restrictions upon the embassy personnel of any nation which does so.
Article 3: No armed security personnel assigned to a foreign embassy in the Danaan High Kingdom may travel armed outside the embassy unless escorting the foreign ambassador personally to a scheduled meeting with Danaan government officials.

Section 3: Civility
Article 1: The Danaan High Kingdom will address all hostile nobles and officials by their traditional honorific if, and only if, the same curtesy is extended to Danaan nobles and officials.
Article 2: Danaan diplomatic staff are ordered to cease all active gestures and expressions of respect if personally insulted but are otherwise forbidden to respond to personal insults.
Article 3: While Danaan diplomats will attempt to create an atmosphere of civility, they will not seek to create one of cordiality. Such cordiality would, in the circumstances, be innately false and offend the Danaan love of truth.

Section 4: Racialism
Article 1: The Danaan High Kingdom will not allow any foreign power to set restrictions upon the race of her ambassadors or to insist on determining anything else about the ambassador from the Danaan High Kingdom. Any nation which insists upon doing so is refusing the deal with the duly appointed representative of a sovereign state and will thus receive no embassy, regardless of other circumstances.
Article 2: The Danaan High Kingdom Foreign Ministry reserves the right to appoint an ambassador according to local custom if and when the situation is appropriately extreme. Such an action will not be considered a violation of the Edict of Racial Equality.
Article 3: Any local racial laws that would prevent a Danaan ambassador from doing his or her job must be waived. It should be noted that for an ambassador to be granted honorary membership in another race does not mean the requirements of this article. The laws must be waived while leaving the ambassador as the same race legally as he or she is actually.

Section 5: Exceptions
Article 1: The Foreign Minister shall be empowered to make exceptions to these terms where exceptions are warranted, namely, where circumstances dictate that an embassy exchange is greatly needed, the hostile nation in question is absolute intransigent about denying one or more terms of this policy, and the foreign nation has sufficient influence to make some concessions logical or where the foreign nation has a similar embassy policy which conflicts with that of the Danaan High Kingdom and thus necessitates compromise.

To the Imperial Court of the Resurgent Dream, Greetings;

In order to futher a mutual understanding, as well as in the interests of healthy trade relations, could someone in your government provide us with some simple demographic and possibly historic information on your Empire, in preparation of your ambassador's arrival.

This information would be used to tailor our trade offerings, as well as in an informational release to the public to coincide with the opening of the two embassies.

Constitutional Monarchy of Gordenia

The government of Gordenia receives a several hundred page document on racial demographics, income distribution, climate, culture, and prevailing market patterns.

The Honourable Adish de-Vere-Frost, Heir Apparent to the Lordship of Tebat-Neteru-Set and the County of Graxis was one of the first true aristocrats of the C'tan, and certainly the most senior in terms of lineage, given that his parents were the heads of the Imperial Security Agency and the Senate respectively. He was however, still young, at the very beginning of his career as a diplomat. As such, the posting of Ambassador to The Danaan High Kingdom of The Resurgent Dream was rather a surprise. That said, he found it rather pleasing to be given such a prestigious post, and further found himself eager to arrive.

In other news, the Vinyaangmarian Embassy in Wintermore is probably deserted now, given that the nation exploded.

OOC: It's inhabited by radioactive ghosts? ;) Seriously, I do need to weed out nations that no longer exist. I've been meaning to do that on here or just start a new thread.
