Firstly, the flag. It is a flattened, stylised, topographical representation of a Tesseract, or hypercube. 16 vertices, 24 planes, 8 hyperplanes and 1 hypervolume, it represents a core tenet in Qanaer philosophy: the plurality of universes in dimensions beyond our reach.

However, strange as it may sound to Earthly culture, this is the very thing that drove us to our present technological status. Even as one by one the supernatural features of the religion were stripped away, this has survived unchanged for millenia.

The next item that might need explanation is our motto. It is in our language, Qana'-Žyinaët (Anglicised: Qanaer Language), and has an approximate English translation of "Eternity, Qanaer, Yidaen".

Now, as to Qana-Yidaen as a nation. It has a full dual dimensional presence, simultaenously existing on Earth and on Yikaem. Which world you exit to from Qana-Yidaen depends on which world you entered Qana-Yidaen from, unless you use one of the specially tuned gateways which takes one to a specific world. It is a technically a city-state, bounded within one city wall: its dual presence is only possible due to a massive dimensional bridging field generator ring, as we call it, the Ring Wall, surrounding approximately 100,000 square kilometres, or roughly a circle with a 100km radius. For a sense of scale, the whole of the Earthly nation of Japan is 3 times larger. It is powered by a combination of zero-point energy and exotic matter. Beware: destabilising the reactors could result in a massive antimatter explosion, exotic matter release and reaction, or spatial implosion, listed in reverse order of severity. The last one could potentially destroy a planet, especially in chain reaction. For this reason, the transdimensional power core is physically located in a 3rd, isolated universe, nominally present inside the city, in order to minimise risk and damage. The effects of spatial implosion theoretically could permeate through a dimensional bridge, however, this has not been documented.

Terrans may be amazed by the ambient blue glow within Qana-Yidaen -- this is a natural phenomenon on Yikaem, this ambient energy is called Yitaer: it is an almost unlimited but not particularly powerful energy source, which is used to power various small technological items. Additionally, within this field, Qyanaer display signs of weak and limited telepathy, but only between Qyanaer at close range.

Qana-Yidaen is still developing, it has only been a few years since the completion of the Ring Wall and city core. Its political system is still in its infancy, and its economy has a long way to go.
