RP Interest Thread

The Resurgent Dream

Ok. There's a lot coming up for my nation that could make an rp. All of it probably won't get rped out, but let me know if any of the following possible rps interest anyone.

The Coronation of Aiwyn and Draconis and Emperor and Emperess of Mists: This is where they inherit the throne of the Resurgent Dream as well as Akaton and become rulers of the region.

The Wedding of Queen Elayne and Countess Catherine: The culmination of the engagement that made gay marriage an issue in the Resurgent Dream. While this wedding is seen as opening a new era for gays and lesbians in the Empire, homosexual marriage does remain illegal in four of the six kingdoms.

The Courtship of Grand Duchess Agwene: Agwene is just about to come of age and that means a coming out ball. However, this one will have a surprise twist.

The Thallain/Radical Rebellion: The Thallain want to return to the days of Winter and darkness. The Seelie want to brush the Thallain under the rug. The conflict finally comes to fighting.

The Courtship of Lady Miranda: Not a huge event for the whole Empire, but mentioned in another thread and people were invited so...they can come.

Terrorist Attack: Radical terrorists have been planning this for some time. It has a supernatural twist.

Well, you could have the two coming out balls together, kind of a joint thing, kill two birds with oen stone (no pun intended), and, if you're REALLY stretched for rp, the terrorists could attack at the ball. But i personally think ANOTHER terrorist rp would be boring, although if it's supernatural maybe not. Anyway, any kind of ball thing I'd participate in, because I want to make up a tall dark broody son for one of my ministers. I really don't have enough of my people planned out, so this will give me an excuse.

Agwene and Miranda wouldn't have the balls together. Miranda's too low ranking and her House and Agwene's are rivals, even enemies. Miranda's ball seems best for what you want.

If I do Miranda's ball, I can almost guarantee she'll get a husband there. If I do Agwene's, I can absolutely guarantee she won't wind up with a husband. However, it'd likely be more interesting.

Well, it seems to me you've enough material to keep things going for a while there. I'd say 'go with what moves/inspires you' and take it from there. I know I'm behind on my designs for that reason, but hey ... *grins*

They all inspire me, honestly. But, if I just started six threads right now, only one or possibly two would get responses and it would look a little spammish.

Though the Coronation is now going to happen in Akaton's Exposition thread anyway. Were you wanting to take Agwene for awhile? Cause that would remove the need for her ball.

Alright. I'll do Miranda's ball as soon as she gets back from Ma-Tek, the wedding later tonight, and see what happens with Agwene before doing anything.

I've decided that I'm incompetent at character RPs that don't involve my three main chars..... Sounds cool....but my RP skills prolly aren't up for it......

<<<This has been an overrated TAG>>>

You're not incompetent. You just have ridiculously high standards for yourself. You were doing good on Samhain.

I'd have to agree. Was looking forward to rp'ing with you ... dare I say again? *smiles* At any rate ... your call, Weyr. Just remember, you are your own worst critic most times. Sometimes all it takes is getting out and stretching those creative muscles a bit in something new and unfamiliar to bring those skills up to whatever level it is you're striving for. Pity to waste good opportunities.

Alright. Some of these rps started. Some of them likely want be happening because of unexpected turns of events. The Courtships of Agwene and Miranda will both happen at some point. Agwene's going to the Dominion first, though. Miranda's will be soon.

[OOC: In the interests of brevity:

I'd be interested in taking part in

The Coronation of Aiwyn and Draconis and Emperor and Emperess of Mists
The Courtship of Grand Duchess Agwene
and
The Thallain/Radical Rebellion.

How and such depends on what the situation is at those specific times, etc.]

Alright. The coronation will be merged in with Akaton's Exposition thread which he's starting tomorrow. The other two will happen...sometime.

I would be interested in any of them. The Queen and Countess would hold particular interest, especially in the eyes of St. James who witnessed the prejudice and Laura who had almost no one show up at her own marriage to Arleena.

Hurry up then. That one already started. Let me find the link.

I had a question concerning timelines. I see threads I like but I have my characters in a line already. Are all these occurring at the same time or different times. I mean in general, not just for this specific thread.

Nationstates time is...weird. I get confused a lot about it. The "official" rule is one NS year for RL day. That might work for population and technology but for character or even war rps, it obviously isn't held to. Normally, my rule of thumb is that if a thread takes under an ic week, I feel free to enter into any other threads started a day or more later. If not, I wait for it to end before moving characters. That's just me though, commenting on something that normally leaves me scratching my head.

Well, sounds like a good rule of thumb. I have St. James at the Capitol and one character that I've not introduced. I could use them for this if it's okay.
