Aleksandr stares at the report capping the unruly mound of paperwork atop his heavy wooden desk. He lifts the report with nearly numb fingers, trying to fight down the taste of bile in the back of his throat. This can't be happening.

"Have you any orders, ur-Domitor?", the slim, mousy man that serves as his aide, at least for the time being asks. Alexei lifts his eyes to the man and realizes, distantly, that he cannot remember his own aide's name; it hardly seems important now.

"Suppress it. Keep it off the official stations, not a whisper!" he croaks. The sound of his voice is barely audible over the pounding hum of his heart in his ears. "Have the Disciplina Augustus come up with something for the independent media. Debunk it, tear apart every shred of credibility she has. Don't deny it. Dismiss it as a hoax."

Alexei only barely sees the man bow in aquiesance. "Will that be all, ur-Domitor? What of the woman herself?"

"Bring her in for reeducation."

"Earlier reports of miracles at the Great Plaza are withering under scrutiny tonight, as the Palace has brought in theological experts to analyze the situation. Channel 11 has been unable to reach anyone at the Palace for an official stance on the so-called miracles. However, an anonymous source among the analysts says that Charlene Unter, the woman who reported the statues of the Great Plaza weeping blood earlier today, may be suffering from dementia. She has been taken into protective custody for psychological testing.
