Haven Machinegun Shoot (Open RP)

Allanea
30-10-2004, 14:23
Kirill Nivensky smiled as he looked out to the Haven Machinegun Shoot convention center. It was jam-packed with gun enthusiasts, booths, vendors, and demonstrators, tables offering everything from .22 handguns to gauss rifles to fragmentation grenades. In the middle of the huge hall stood an Allanean Arms, Inc. pickup truck with mounted machineguns.

The convention was not just limited to the hall. The entire city was packed with visitors from all over the planet wishing to purchase the best small arms they could find, shoot at Port-Allanea's various shooting ranges, or just buy a T-shirt with a "gun nut" slogan if their home country didn't allow guns.

Every range in the city was full shoulder to shoulder, and corporations hauled truckfuls of weapons into the city, to be immediately sold off as they arrived.

Kirill Nivensky's Allanean Arms was going to make a huge profit there. "Nothing like living in a nation of riflemen", grinned the CEO.

The Convention was open.

The ten cargo ships approached prt. Three held tanks and aircraft. Everything else was guns. Lots and lots of guns. The CMDC top brass would be here to show off their babies, including their favorite gun...The CM99a rifle which could penetrate 25 inches of 2 gauge steel using anti-personnel ammunition. Everyone here knew that this would just sell like hotcakes, as would the recoil buffers.

Captain Ortese surveyed the moderately sized stall, currently stocked to the gills with a hefty supply of Straight Arrow weaponry. Rifles, Light Cannons, Rocket launchers.

Hell, there were even a few modified Handguns capable of firing the same bullets as the rifles.

Two Combat Sergeants were assigned to the stall alongside him, so he was confident there would be enough to deal with personnel. All they needed from that point on was customers.

"COME ONE, COME ALL!" he shouted, noting the first few people shuffling in for the day's destruction. "WITNESS THE DESTRUCTIVE POWER OF STRAIGHT ARROW!

"This ordinance makes armor piercing bullets look like plastic pellets! Self Propelled, and tremendously hard, the rifle is capable of punching through armor up to ONE INCH THICK. THE RIFLE! Think what the rocket or the cannon versions can do! When these things show up on the battlefield, Shit blows up. PERIOD."

A crowd was starting to gather, which only caused Ortese to pick up his schpiel another notch.

Today is going to be a good day, he thought to himself happily.

"HAHAHA!" Brendon laughed loudly, "Our rifle can penetrate through twenty-five inches of steel just using ball ammunition. Withthe specially designed armor-piercing rounds, it can penetrate up to five times more!" Brendon then help up the CM99a and a single bullet about the size of his arm. "This gun is the ultimate sniper rifle! We've had confirmed tank kills at over 4000 meters!"

With this, a LARGE crowd started to form at the CMDC booth.
Glemte Hage
30-10-2004, 18:36
+Haxos smiled as he stood behind the store- his brother Idoa had given his life during the attack on the Commonwealth of Nations houses of Parliament building, over a thousand people had being killed- and the resulting war had ended up with Glemte Hage with even more enemies before- the evangelists were to preach again, an attack at such a large event would surely lead to chaos and if they were lucky more nations would invade Glemte Hage.
Around Haxos stood the four other members of his cell- each looking happy and cheerful as they explained to potential buyers the specifications of the various guns arrayed across the rather shoddy table.
He smiled to himself, how could the government of Allanea have being stupid enough to create such a festival, a perfect opportunity
"Now!" Haxos screamed suddenly his voice echoing throughout the festival,
As the cohesive unit they were all five opend fire upon the crowd with AK-47's, the air became rich with the screaming and bullet fire, people dropped to the ground- clutching gaping wounds inflicted by the vicious weapons- it was at this point the first member of his team went down- a bulled lodged in his gut, the people of Allanea were fighting back- another member of the cell went down as they dived behind the counter, a series of bullets flying just over their heads.
They lept back up and delivered another volley into the crowd hoping to silence the guns which had killed their preacher-brothers. More gunfire claimed another member of his squad who fell over the counter. The remaining member and Haxos dived behind the counter. The time had come to escape.
With a cry they ran for the exit- a wall if gunfire from all sides tore throuhg them before they got five feet, as Haxos felt the last bullet hit he smiled, if didn't matter if they lived or died- the point had being made, the president of Glemte Hage would soon taste defeat and the Preacher-King would rise

+OOC- this attack was agreed to beforehand+

A CMDC tank's M2 machinegun started to open up on the terrorists, ripping them apart and killing the terrorists before they could even scream. After the fighting, the CMDC cut prices on ammunition and the new WP frangable bullets began to sell madly (frangable bullet with a White Phosphorous core...VERY deadly). The CMDC personnel also collected the AK-47s and sold them for $25 each.

All hell broke loose. The terrorists where apparently not counting on that they were going to Allanea - where nearly everybody was packing heat. Even before the first body hit the floor, the convention hall lit up like a Christmas tree, hitting the terrorists with thousands of rounds from the visitors' weapons. After five seconds, one Allanean died, and and two were wounded. The terrorists were not even identifiable.

Two police officers rushed in, covering the bodies.

"It's OK, It's OK!" they calmed down the crowd. "You can proceed safely."

The CM99a sniper rifle "Tank hunter"

http://img55.photobucket.com/albums/v169/futureMARINE/M99-1.bmp

http://img55.photobucket.com/albums/v169/futureMARINE/m99-2.bmp

This is a new sniper rifle mainly designed for the platoon anti-armor use. It utilizes a newly made round. The .75 cal by 12 inch expanded shell is specially designed for anti-vehicle warfare, but if it strikes a human target, it will might leave the shoes. With the right round and range, it can take out almost any tank out there. After about an inch on the shell casing, it goes to about the diameter of a coke can. At the range of 800 yards with a DU round, it can penetrate 25 inches of 2 gague steel. The CM99a is made to withstand the extreme forces of the nitro-triiodide used in the gunpowder (instead of nitro glyceryn) This makes it much more dangerous to the user (recoil id tripled as well as chamber pressures) but the tradeoff is worth it since the bullet packs four times the punch.

Barrel length: 46 inches
Method of operation: single shot bolt-action
Standard scope: 3-25x custom scope
Max effective range: 3600 yards
Max range: 8000 yards
Price per shell: $5 ball ammo, $10 steel core AP, $15 DU armor piercing, $25 Quatranium AP
Prie per unit: $3,000

Amazingly enough, even Al-Imad merchants went to the convention, arriving shortly after the terrorist attack. They began hawking the latest in Al-Imvad railgun small arms as soon as their booth was set up. The fast paced banter and pure utilitarian look of the gun drew a large crowd quickly.

"Come one, come all to get on of the amazing new RRAW Twos. We only have a limited supply, so you'd better hurry. With the ability to pierce 90% of military body armors, and all civilian armors, the RRAW is the perfect weapon for home defense. A Rapid Rail Assault Weapon, that's what I'm talking about here, fifteen hundred rounds per minute- 200 slugs in a clip. It takes 9mm, 10mm, even 5.56 bullets. You put it in there and it'll shoot it- no preperation needed, even for nonstandard bullets. You there" *points at a plant in the growing crowd* " Would you like to have one of these beauties? how much do you think one of these marvels of modern engineering costs?"
"Four thousand dollars?" relied the plant.
"NO!! It's less than the inferior armor piercers you see around you today. You go over to any other vender in this place, and he'll try to sell you something that is either single shot, or not as powerful, or BOTH - for twice as much as I'm selling these RRAWs. Let me tell you how much these cost, pay attention because you'll never believe it unless you hear it with you own ears... I'm selling these for $1750 each. That's right you heard me you can wipe that unbelieving look off your face. 1750 dollars each. Now you better make up your minds to buy quick- no dawdleing aruond thinking about that nice lady vender with the shiny looking handguns, 'cuz I've only got five thousand of these in stock, and there's no telling when I can get another shipment in."

Another plant in the crowd then yelled out: "I'll take two!!" This caused the crowd to surge forward, trying to get their hands on the powerful assault weapon.

OOC: Wow! Lookit Me, Maw! I can throw up a picture of the Barrett model 99, give it some unbelievably wanky stats, 'n call it the best thing since sliced bread too! (BTW...a .75 cal round needs a lot of boom-boom. Needs a big, bulky, -long- barrel to get the sort of range you seem to like. The barrel you apparently fit onto your rifle is shorter than the barrel used by the -actual- Big Shot rifle.)

Now, if that sounded like a condemnation, it was. It is, however, the only OOC comment I'll be making in this thread. Good day.

IC:

Drayne Neviros had been browsing the tables on his lunch hour, which wasn't exactly an hour. More of an indeterminate period that Drayne rarely took advantage of. However, chemical firearms were something of a hobby of his. So, he hopped a shuttle on over.

Another advantage of being an individual of his esteemed rank. One could commandeer more or less whatever one wanted, which he had done.

He had been examining one of Springfield Armory's excellent M1911 variants when the gunfire sounded. Then some idiot opened up with a machinegun. Apparently, a Ma-Deuce on an AA mount.

So. While the terrorists might have died, sure, the half-wit had also killed a good number of innocent civilians, cuz, y'know, we're talking shooting into a crowd. Sure, one -could- snipe with a Ma-Deuce, but that wasn't gonna happen on reflex.

So we got a moron, firing an -AA Mount Ma-Deuce- into a -Crowd of Civilians.-

It required a supreme act of will to prevent Knight-Captain Drayne D. Neviros from hunting down the idiot with the itchy finger, taking his machinegun, and feeding it up his ass. Sideways.

But that supreme act of will had been served, and Drayne Neviros had instead taken cover behind a morbidly obese woman. Sure, his duster incorporated a full 2mm of CF Weave, sufficient to deal with almost any sort of chemical firearm, but goddamn, he didn't have a helmet.

'n these were the sort of weekend warriors who would think it was awful cool to pop one Knight-Captain Drayne D. Neviros in the face with some massive oversized handgun. Something from Magnum Research, perhaps.
---
After the gunfire died down, Drayne emerged from behind the obese woman, brushing himself off. However, he was not calm. He should have expected something crazy from Allaneans...

I mean, here he was, right. Lookin' to check out some sweet guns, right? Maybe buy something, presuming he found anything with the right combination of history and meanness.

So, of course, what happens? Right. Terrorists attack. Some moron cuts loose with what sounded like a Ma-Deuce. Lotsa people die. (Revise that statistic, Allanea. In this kinda situation, 'Friendly Fire' is gonna kill more people than the idiot terrorists.)

So, now every-bloody-body was strung real nice and tight. Suffice to say that one Drayne Neviros kept his hand at his side, damn close to where his RevTek APCP rode in a drop-down assault-style holster on his right thigh.

He wasn't particularly worried about himself, mind you. He existed for high-threat environments, that he'd survived this long said a lot. Nope. His problem was that it'd be a damn shame if other people had to die.

Drayne liked chemical firearms because they were fun to shoot. Not because they could project lethal force. He didn't need a gun to kill somebody. Drayne Neviros -was- lethal force. Head, shoulders, knees, 'n toes.

OOC: since it says open......and machine gun......

The Weyr International booth was quite small, and not very flashy, but done in good taste considering what it was selling.

There were four men and two women at the booth, all dressed in black leather jackets, black pants, and reflective glasses, which were actually more than that. The biggest man picked up the strange assembly, which consisted of two dozen slender, black tubes attacked to a mass of arachnoweave-covered tubes and cables, which ran into a large suitcase. He pointed it at a tank slightly down the range.

"As soon as we get more people, I'll begin," he said to no-one in particular.

REASON
L'argument final des rois

REASON gatling
Type: coilgun medium gatling
Manufacturer: Thaumcraft Arms, Inc.
RoF: 10rds/sec
Cost: ave 41,000 Weyrs/unit (US$53,168/unit)

Of course, the stats depend on the size of the weapon, of which we have six. The ones above are for the one we're offering to Allanea.

The REASON class of coilgun multikaster gatlings is designed to demolish everything from massed infantry formations to heavy tanks and bunkers. Capable of fully piercing the armor of a Nimitz aircraft carrier in under four seconds, it is one of the most powerful guns in the Weyrean arsenal.

Like most modern Weyrean infantry weapons, REASON is fully capable of firing a number of standardized round types with the flick of a switch. Common subEtheric rounds are deadly to everything both natural and supernatural. AP rounds shred the best battle armor. Frag rounds explode in deadly shrapnel cones. HE rounds pack more power than a common hand grenade. Incendiary rounds set armor and clothing on fire. Loogie rounds transform on contact into a sticky fibrous mass as tough as the best arachnoweave. REASON can even be specially programmed to fire a type of munitions designed by you, the client. Best of all, every round can be fired from the same ammunition belt.

REASON is packed into a container that can be fitted onto most medium-sized power armors with little inhibition, and can even be carried by a standard human wearing no power armor or special aids. The only downside is the amount of power REASON requires to operate at full capacity. For this reason, REASON comes with its own isotope-Firien reactor, which is good for up to three hours or more.

REASON comes in six sizes, and will be specially made for our non-humanoid customers for no extra charge. We make mini REASONS that can be concelaed beneath your clothing, and big REASONS for taking down pesky corvette parasites.

/ooc I have to agree with Revenia on that. A rifle capable of firing a "Bullet the length of your arm" would have to be as long as you are tall, and that's being generous, in order to maintain any kind of accuracy whatsoever.

IC: Ortese glared at the guy who'd shouted him down.

"An arm length bullet? In THAT?! With the range you say? You're friggin' loony! twenty five inch penetration, no way in hell."

"You want to see true devastation," he called to the crowd "Take a look at our Straight Arrow CANNON. This little bastard will turn the inside of any tank into nothing but melted slag and people-sized piles of ashes. We honestly don't know how many inches of titanium-steel composite this thing can punch through, because frankly we haven't been able to stop it yet!

"As soon as the shell leaves the barrel, it accellerates to speeds that we can't time because the thing's out of range too fast. It manages this due to a small scramjet engine that is built into each and every shell, that enables it to take on even MORE punch than would normally be possible. Soon as it hits the armor, it plows right through the first few inches of armor like butter, but after that, the friction generated by punching through those layers of steel allows the superheavy wedge penetrator to expand with explosive force, taking a good portion of the remaining steel with it, essentially turning the target's own armor against it. Anything on the other side of the armor is either melted by the tremendous heat or ripped to shreds by shrapnel."

Collective oohs and aahs reverberated throughout the crowd.

The tall Weyrean sighed. He adjusted his weapon, letting special protrusions rest against his side and pelvis. He aimed at the tank, from a hundred yards away, and depressed the switch.

The stream of 'needles' ripped into the tank's depleted-uranium plating, and kept going. The original REASON used depleted-uranium needles. This one was set on subEtheric. Of course, the model being displayed was the latest prototype, and the ones actually being sold were of poorer quality, but no-one was about to advertise this.

"Five..four...three...two...one..." the woman besides the gunner counted over the humm, as the barrels spun, blurring until one could see right through them. They stopped firing on "one", took a few moments to stop. "This is the standard Chobham armor used on the Abrams A1M2. Note the twelve-inch hole in the DU plating," she commented, as the tank was wheeled to the spectators. "Now let's see what it does against an APC!" she chuckled as the tank was taken away, and replaced with a troop transport.

"Tell me people, what are you looking for in an Anti-Tank weapon? Is is power? Is it ease of use? Is it versatility? Is it cost? The RAAT-two has you covered in all those areas. It has the power to blow through five feet, you heard me five feet of solid steel with its AP shells. It's simple enough to use that I could take anybody out of this whole convention, give them one, and they would be able to blow through tanks with hardly a second thought. It has versatility in two ways. Yes, the RAAT-two is a multifunctional weapon. It can be used as a direct fire AT weapon, it can be used as a mortar, it can be used as a NBC delivery system. It can also be made to accept any type of shell you damn well please, from two inches to seven. That's the beauty of Rail Assisted Anti-Tank: ver-sa-tility. That's what we believe in here. We'vegot one gun for all your needs, and this is it. Once you buy this weapon, all those other guns you've got are unnecessary. You can use this for ab-so-lutely anything. And I'm giving them away, let me tell you why- they're so easy top make the army can't buy them up fast enough. Supply and Demand- the supply is so big that I can sell you, the average person, a RAAT two for only 900 dollars. Can you belive that? Well you better, 'cuz its true. Nine hundred dollars, and you can free up a lot of space in you weapons locker, throwing out your RPG launcher, your SAM launcher, your mortar, your LAW. This one gun takes all those roles, and you can use the ammo from you old guns- this thing could fire tin cans if you neededit to. Drayne smiled at the Allanean. Distinct lack of lawyers in Revenia. Didn't particularly need 'em. Result of a preference for Justice over law. That and the whole being ruled by individuals of a race that was 'touched by Chaos.' Thus, law, per-se, wasn't exactly an in-term in Revenia. Justice on the the other hand...ohh yes.

Anyways, just 'cause lawyers weren't a particularly Revenian thing didn't mean that Drayne wasn't familiar with that particular breed of mutant. His choice of career pretty much required service in foreign countries. 'n if Revenia didn't have lawyers...most other countries did.

Regardless, Drayne was always a 'benefit of the doubt' kinda guy, up until stuff got hostile. Things weren't hostile...yet.

"Thanks. Drayne Neviros. Captain. Revenian Army Special Forces."

Of course, there -wasn't- a Revenian Army Special Forces. But the name evoked the Green Berets, and that was damn close. If you forgot the fact that Drayne wasn't human. 'n if you cut out the extensive augmentation. But the mission was still the same.

His thumb traced the restraining strap that prevented the APCP from being drawn. Old fashioned design, but damnit, it was a good one. In the case of somebody trying to filch his gun, they had to perform an extra action. Which gave him a second or two to respond.

That response usually involved breaking the poor sucker's arm. Not his fault. Sometimes he forgot his own strength, alright?

Yeah. Right. Pull the other one.

Top ejecting, ported barrel. Our military uses them, but I think they are mostly for show. Recoil is rather soft for such a big cartridge, but they are still a novelty. A nice novelty."

He waits for the Revenian's response.

*Somewhere deep in the back of the convention, where few other booths were set up, and even fewer people went into, sat a strange, lonely little booth. What it had to sell, however, was definately not something to be trifled with.*

Hey, we have the deadliest arsenal to be striking this planet for the next 100 years! Yes, we have semi-poratble energy cannons right here folks! Mount one of these babys on your car, and you can cause more damage than most tank battalions in several seconds, WITHOUT leaving the confort and safety of your personal vehicle! *He wisefully leaves out the fact that these are inferior weapons compared to Hyperlights arsenal, and would need to be reloaded every 5 shots or so. Some people, attracted from the more populous sections of the convention, began to gather, and several annoyed vendors looked his way. One even went so far as to point a gun his way.* We have only a limited stock of 5 of these great cannons, starting at $100,000!

*No-one seems willing to pay that much for a such a dubious weapon......*

He nodded slowly. "Sounds nice. .50 AE is a good round when you have to make it count."

He paused for a few moments, then shrugged, as he flicked the strap off his APSP and unholstered it. First off, it was a big pistol. Second, it had an excess of dials on the side.

He held it in one hand, to let the Allanean get a good view of it, but not in such a way as to offer to allow the Allanean to hold it. Much less fire it. Some things man weren't meant to know.

"You got that about right. RevTek APCP. That's 'All-Purpose Combat Pistol,' but don't be fooled, it ain't standard issue. 's a tricky sucker, but once you know it, 's as easy as point and say goodnight."

He said this with a smile, and, after letting Mr. Craig get a good look, holstered the APCP. Just having it unholstered made him nervous...with good reason.

The APCP wasn't a chemical firearm, it was a variable-strength linear accelerator. Currently, it was loaded with 'solid' rounds, which were 10mm diameter Iridium slugs. These were propelled downrange at hypersonic velocities. The kinetic energy imparted by one of these slugs was sufficient to turn your friendly neighborhood humanoid into all kinds of dead.

So, yeah, he had reason enough to be nervous.

The C-4 and others will cost you. 150 for a Druganov and 10 an ounce of C-4, Mortars and other will be about 1500-25000 per. We will also set up a manufacturing base if you give us the land and tell us the country." ]

"Ok ill pay for those crates...erm can we have 25 Druganovs.....30 motars......40 rpg's and 5000lbs of c4"......"We will give you a 2 mile square plot of land in our country of Napalmistan near the automobile industry base.....the labour will be cheap but our people are hard working.....may I ask what we will get in return...perhaps a cut of the weapons produced"

"Done deal. We shall move into there ASAP...and we like the name." Brendon said as he handed a 5x3x3 crate labelled 'Druganovsx25' to the guy as well as a pass into the ports with an authorization key and shopping list. This is where he could get everything else.

In back, the hyperlight dealer tried harder to sway the crowd.

"Gentlement, this thing fires a 40000 watt, 2 second burst of laser fire thet will punch through most conventional armor with one firing. With a range of over 10,000 yards maximum, if you can aim that far away that is...." This drew a few chuckles from the crowd, and one man began to pull out a pocket book. "yes, we will supply a lay-a-way system if you cannot immediately pay in full, and it comes with an installation manual, one designed so that a 5 year old just starting terrorist could understand them. An lilliterate one."

The crowd laughs, then claps and several men push to the front, and buy out the guns. Luckily for any major power interested, he kept several military grade ones hidden in back, and began to sell pulse rifles.......

Ballista International Stall (Sub-Division of Freethinker Defence Industries)

With a red t-shirt emblazoned with the logo of the WRA's Navarre chapter, 30 year-old Kyle Longbow looked the part on the front of the BI stall. Lobbying his supervisor for months on end had landed him this role fronting the smalls arms section of the enormous Freethinker Defence Industries conglomerate, and he wasn't going to waste the opportunity now it had been offered him.

Truth was he loved coming to Allanea. Of course, anyone would who loved guns as much as Kyle did. Although he loved his homeland, he found the the laxer attitude to guns in Allanea a breathe of fresh air. Although the gun laws in The Freethinkers were lax enough even for Kyle, (even he was willing to admit that there were some people who shouldn’t be given overtly powerful weaponry), the attitude of the people was considerably different. It definitely wasn't the 'in' thing to own a lethal weapon nowadays. Although the hunting was still both good and adrenaline pumping, it was becoming more and more difficult for Kyle to find anyone to go tracking and hunting with.

Kyle's mind, however, soon moved on as he gazed at the crowd. Stalls filled with laughably over-the-top weaponry fronted by guys who should be being shown to the local loony-bin. The crowds mingling between the stalls were often little better, representatives of third-world 'powers' with more money than sense gazing in wonder at weaponry with as much practical use as an inflatable dartboard. Cheques would soon be changing hands and some backwater dictatorship will be lumbered with a big fat white elephant.

FDI rarely found government customers in these settings. Most represented here the company wouldn’t touch with a bargepole. Instead the company targeted the Allanea civie buyers. Those looking for a no-nonsense hunting rifle or a bit of military memorabilia. Interest had been good, guns, brochures and accessories finding their way into many bags and pockets. Jovial banter filled the area around the stalls as Kyle watched customers look around the various weapons on display.

The star of the stall, as it were, was the BI-M7CV Rifle, the 'civilian' (or paramilitary) version of the M7B Sniper Rifle that was until recently the mainstay of the Freethinker Ground Forces sniping arm. Indeed, it still remained, unofficially, in many mercenary and reserve armouries, and the civilian version had been a gold mine for the company. Every police office and private security organisations, as well as many farmers, trappers, and sportsmen used the weapon, and it was hoped this success could be copied elsewhere. The rising Allanean economy soon saw a new market
emerge.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v195/The_Freethinkers/M7CV.jpg

The first M7 was produced in 1961, and was based off the fondly remembered M5 Assault Rifle, a weapon bought into service in 1948. Despite the age, however, the rifle has remained popular and is considered a classic of gun-making. Its success was due, not to a satisfactory but uninspiring performance (7.62x55 ammunition and a 900 yard proven range), but rather, an incredible resilience born of the necessity to be usable in conditions ranging from the Arctic tundra to the harshest deserts known to man. Expected to work after weeks of marching with only the most minimal of attention, the rifle soon became known as one of the most reliable weapons around. Allanean soldiers learnt this first hand when engaging Freethinker forces on the ground in The Prophet.

The civilian version only has a single shoot capacity with a manual casing dispenser, and a field weight of only 4 kilograms due to the lightweight materials used. An excellent, even-by-modern standard, RDS ensures sufficient stability for long range marksmanship. A ten or twenty-round magazine can be used, and an optical, 16x scope was supplied with the CV. The weapon was also able to accept a bipod mount and a bayonet.

Kyle was still looking for customers, his eyes scanning the crowd, hoping for more discernable buyers to come his way.

OOC: So this is a single-shot rifle? Or a semi-auto rifle?

IC: Kirill Nivensky chuckled as he he walked up to the Freethinker's stand. "Good day, Sir. Apparently, you are misjudging your market. Allaneans will avoid buying "reduced" civilian versions of a military arm. They feel it is degrading, and in a way, I can understand. After all, I supply them with what they want. Kirill Nivensky, CEO, Allanean Arms, Incorporated."

He extended a hand for a handshake.

The CMDC rep stood up on the stage and said over a bull horn, "Who LOVES Ma Deuce?" Most everyove raised their fist in love for the great gun, "Who loves tank killing rounds?" Everyone now shouted their approval, "What can we do now except to combine the two? I present to you the CMDC M3 machine gun. The proven reliability of the Browning, and the tank killing power of our CM99 shell! This thing'll tear up a T-93 in no time!" As the rep said this, one CMDC employee opened up fire on a new T-93 and blew up the whole tank in twenty rounds and emtied a full belt on it. People then formed a massive blob to get to shoot this new gun.

Kyle extended an overtly tattoed arm, grinning.

"You may be right, unfortunately my bosses think not, so go figure. Kyle armstrong, by the way, nice to meet ya." He smiled as the man responded.

"That said, I do have to disagree with you on the 'inferior' view. You say degrading, I say the finest single shot,'without modification rifle in the world. Yeah, the ranges are fun, but this baby is designed for the field. Wait here."

He dissappeared round the back for a moment, before returning with a red gasping face and several large boxes and bags under his arms. He dumped them on the counter.

"Here, consider this a gift, my friend." He opened the largest metal case, revealing its contents. A M7CV, shiny new, sat in two pieces within the cases lined interior. The sight rested seperately in its own compartment, and the cleaning gear and paraphenalia sat undisturbed in their plastic wrappers tucked into the various smaller compartments. Kyle lifted the main pieces and slotted them together easily. He passed the assembled rifle into the CEO's hand. "Beautiful, aint she?"

OOC: Yeah, single shot (though easily modified. Because the Freethinker's still have a few gun restrictions left, the weapons sold to the public generally tend to be more 'sports' than 'overthrow the government' orientated. the weapon can be easily modified of course.

And tbf Im just using this as an opportunity to test some of my new weapon designs. Have fun.

The Allanean smiles. "Certainly, my friend. I never claimed, mind you that it was degrading or inferior. I only said your customers will feel that way. That, my friend, is undisputable in Allanea. Now..."

He cycles the bolt of the M7CV

"I think a select-fire rifle of this caliber would be compatible with the wishes of, say, the farmers in South-East Allanea. It will serve them both a self-defense weapon and a hunting implement - for which the caliber is perfectly fit - thus cutting their gun expenditures down a bit. "

Drayne snorted. "Sport Shooting? You mean, as in...target shooting? As a way to relieve stress, sure. By way of competition...no. That would be unfair."

Truth. Drayne was a Devilrunner. His enhancements would allow him to make almost impossible shots...with pistols, smgs, assault rifles...things that he might use in the course of his projected duties. Things that didn't include match-grade sniper's rifles.

There were -no- Devilrunner snipers. Because the Fleet Marine Sniper School didn't do enhancements. Didn't need 'em. Graduates of the FMSS were damn near religious about their trade. All metaphysical and crap. 'Calling the Target,' 'becoming one with the rifle,' all that stuff.

But the results...christ. The results were -damn- impressive. Marines swore by their snipers, said that when they heard that slow methodical thum-TWING thum-TWING of the SSR-21 Precision Sniper Rifle, they knew they were gonna be fine.

Devilrunners didn't have that luxury. The best they got was a guy with an assault rifle and a high-quality smartscope. It was enough.

04-11-2004, 01:24
The two men of young age with a great military stiffness to their appearance browse through many of the arms and ammunition with diluted interest. Their well worn draped off-white linen cloaks contrast their perfect uniforms of pressed shirts and slacks. Their only identifying mark is a copper seal that they have hung around their necks, showing a small Dhulus Empire flag wind tossed behind a emblem of their department. The two wander around for a bit getting their bearings and trying to quiet the insistent sound of snake-oil salesmen attempting them to waste their allocation on handguns that fire chemical canisters, or sniper rifels that are useless in city situations.

Now lost by much of the commotion and the uncertain layout of the endless plethora of armaments and horribly deadly solutions to unwanted problems, they turn to a Allanea official for help and guidance.

The direct and authoritative man barks out, "Tell me sir. Where are the..." The second man a bit calmer, and more interested in starting on the right foot, puts a hand over the inept officers face and resumes in his stead.

"Sir, I apologize. What myself and my friend, who have come upon direction from the emerging Empire of Dhulus wish to know..." He pauses to get the correct wording so not to sound like a lost boy in a toy store, " Would you be able to direct us to the UGV's? We are enjoying our time in the endless displays and shooting ranges." He reveals a briefcase of polished steel. "We have even saw the bargain of this area and gathered a fine selection of DU for a few special guard units that were on our shopping list." He opens to show the shiny new ammo in various boxes marked .50, 7.76, and one specially encased leather package of .22. He then closes it again and continues, "But I was sent here to see what a city population could do with the product of more ingenious minds. Se our problem is that we need... " Corrects himself, ".. have situations come up that require personnel to get into very cramped alleys, rooms, and hallways. As you know, getting yourself into a tight spot is quite dangerous. So we were interested in ways to overcome city fighting issues, without involving our own trusted men. Do you have any show pieces of combat drone know-how? Not the flying kind, but more along the lines of those cute space probes. I would be much appreciated."

Brendon went up to one of his most trusted men and says, "Sales are lacking, shot them the new shotgun."

"Yes sir." One man with a semi-raspy voice remeniscent of Snake Bliskin says as he takes the tower and holds up what appears to be a M240 Bravo with different shells. They were red shotgun shells. The man takes the bullhorn and says, "Anyone ever get in a firefight and you want a shotgun but hate the slowness of pump-action and want the speed of a machinegun while not having to reload every ten shots? Well, we have the M241 Delta. It is a 16 gauge shotgun on the frame of an M240. Think about it, a belt-fed shotgun with interchangable barrels in case you want to shoot slugs. If that ain't enough, we've shot this sucker at 1500 rounds a minute. No shotgun can match its speed or versatility. No machinegun can match the volume it produces with double 0 buckshot. And some of you skeptics out there don't think that you'll get range or stopping power with this thing, well you do. We've made a special shell that's a full metal jacked buckshot so you're guranteed range AND power." With this speech, more of the crowd went to the half of the expo that CMDC rented.

The Weyrean rep selling the stats was right next to the REASON demo team, which meant that everyone was watching another tank being sliced in half, and ignoring his display of small, and not-so-small vehicles.

Starstat: reProbe MK9
The reProbe is the only small hyper-capapable surveilance drone. It carries a small loadout of weapons, although most of its space is taken up by its micro-Fusactor and hyperdrive. It can survey an entire system in under an hour, and track up to a thousand targets. Its PI can adapt to any stuation, and will self-destruct in case of capture, preventing the possibility of a back trace.

Aerostat: Aerus Mk5
The Aerus is a combat-surveilance drone. Built for speed and maneuverability, it carries a multi-vector turbine system that allows it to move in any direction. The turbine system can be replaced with a repulsolift drive, for a price. The best part is that the Aerus is small enogh to fit into a standard ventilation shaft with no problems.

Weapons loadouts can be customized, and the stat can carry everything from darts to anti-tank missiles. A complete Pseudo-Intelligence system allows the stat to determine the best course of action required to complete its mission. The scanner suite built into this stat includes infrared, millimeter-wave radar, lidar, and radio systems, and the PI system can compute bullet trajectories and track weapons. The scanner system of the Aerus is powerful enough to count the change in a civilian's piocket and measure the caliber of a chambered round.

The Aerus has been in use by the City Watch systems of over twenty Weyrean cities, and has resulted in a marked decrease in civilian casualties and a higher City Watch survival rate.

The two representatives of the Dhulus Empire stare in disbelief at the two drone units presented before them. In a simultaneous show of awe and disbelief, the larger and more crass agent walks forwards and grabs hold of the Aerus Mk5. In all wonder, his strong hands attempt to move the object to see how much it weighs. Looking thoughtfully he asks the salesman, "Tell me, what kind of damage can this unit withstand before critical function loss? What is the effective duration of running at full potential, and what is used to refuel? Also what of close combat weapons available to deal with hostile persons?"

He awaits answers, then continues, " Tell me one more thing, exactly how much is this unit going to cost me." (For monetary conversion at yr 2010, 1 Ein is worth $1.25 US. This is well out of there time zone, but perhaps a less sci-tech creation would be more suiting. :D )
