A Crazy Idea For An RP (ooc)

Hello. I had a crazy idea for an RP and wanted to know what people thought:

Okay, it's a fantasy RP in which the main character has a "Timeblade" (Horrible name, I know) which he can use at certain spots to go back and change a slight thing in the past. When he does this, he edits a post and puts the number of that post down (ooc) so that everyone goes back and edits their posts to change the story acordingly. At the same time, however, they continue posting new post on the unchanged storyline.

I throught in might look cool, tell me what you think!

Maybe it's just because the idea is confusing as presented. Try a bit more detail on the idea.

Good idea. Just don't jump back too far

Okay, the story would be clasic RPG style, the enimy being a demon lord of some kind. Our hero would be an unlikly one, of course.

As to the back-tracking, our hero would only be able to go back temporarly, lest the "Timeblade" surcome to itself and be destroyed. The way of going back would be some kind of symbol representing a weak point in the fabric of time and space, a "Timescar."

I'd really like to hear anyone's sugestions or character ideas!

Changing a twenty-page thread RP every few days? Eh....it will either be very good, or die horribly. Cool idea, but I'm not sure how well it will work, considering the amount of editing that will be required from every person -in original order of postage-, since the number of possible outcomes greatly increases the farther you get away from the original, modified post.

The hero would be going back because he and his friends would be in peril. So the current story would probably end shortly after the jump back. Also, he wouldn't be going all the way back to the begining of the thread.

too cumbersome...but you could quote the origonal post and change it so everyone knows what happened along with a post number. Problem about this would be it couldn't be longer than four pages for it to work well.

Good points, good points... Oh well, I said it was a crazy idea, not a good one. I'll try again later with an idea that's a little better...
