Heiliger

This afternoon Cardinal Summer has stepped down from the Cardinal position in the Kingdom of Heiliger. The reason was that his failing health was keeping him from his administrative duties. As rule of The Doctrine of Allen, the Nation will hold a Nationwide election. But unlike the Doctrine of Allen, a third party Candidate has enlisted on the ballot. The canditates are, Bishop Jones, Bishop Shrub, and the third party canditate is Sean Zummer. We will now present what each canditate stands on.

Sean Zummer
As the next Cardinal I will lead Heiliger into the future. I will take down the old Abortion Laws, I will give citizen more rights and I will lower taxes. I will also cut government size. With smaller government and smaller taxes the country economy will prosper. I will contiune to uphold The Doctrine of Allen, but the system thats in place is inaqiutate. Instead of having Cardinals, Bishops, and Priest ruling we should have Kings, Dukes, and Landlords running the show. However the Cardinal Bishops and Priest will still play a part in keeping our political leaders in line. I will also strengthen our safety not by brute force but rather by stronger and surer intelligence gathering. As your next King I will not only change the Kingdom, I will make it better!

Bishop Jones
Cardinal Summer was my closes friends. We have worked hard and long on bringing Heiliger out of a Civil War between the Catholics and the Baptist and into a new era of prosparity. I believe in upholding the Doctrine of Allen to the word. I will also lower taxes without reducing government size. We can keep the same size and cut down on taxes. Most of the citizens money is being wasted anyways. We need to cut out the waste. I will adapt Cardinal Summer policies as my own. I will make us safer by extending the olive branch of peace to other nations and I will lead a nation into peace and prosparity. I will still uphold the Catholic Church teachings, traditions, and stances on policies. Change will come but it must come slow and easy.

Bishop Shrub
I will raise a powerful militatry. Heiliger will be feared by all and respected by all. If anyone has something we want, Why I will just use the militatry to take it! I will fight terrorist whetever they may be. By invading into other countries, and occupying them, I will make the world safer! Also if you have WMDs and Oil Fields, I will invade you! God bless Heiliger

Well there you have it, three canditates for the throne. Who will the people decide?

OOC: You can vote in the poll as a citizen of Heiliger. The Poll will close in 5 days.

When Zumner speaks about getting rid of the old abortion laws, to what is he referring? Would he remove the protection of the unborn?

As the first day at the polling place wraps up, we have Sean Zummer leading, with Bishop Jones in second and Bishop Shrub with zero. I suspect we'll see Bishop Shrub dropping out of the race soon since no one is voting for him. When ask for comment Sean Zummer states that he is pleased with the first days at the polls and that he hopes to win. Meanwhile Bishop Jones is relying on his experience with Cardinal Summer and his willingness to stay the course. Meanwhile Bishop Shrub is just handing out Heiliger flags and saying "God Bless Heiliger!" alot. We shall see how the second day at the polls go.

It must be bishop Jones, there can be no other choice! Although I'll be very interested to see how he cuts out waste and reduces taxes...

Those two promises actually goes hand in hand. If he cuts waste, then the government won't spend so much, and if the government won't spend so much it won't ask so much of its citizen, and thus it'll reduce taxes.

As Polls close for the second day Bishop Jones has made a dramatic bounce back in the polls and is now taking a commanding lead over third party canditate Sean Zummer. One of the main issues hurting Sean is the fact that he is pro-abortion, and is in a Catholic Nation. He'll have to do very well in the debate tomorrow night if he wants to have any chance in the election. The one and only debate will be held tomorrow between Sean Zummer and Bishop Jones. The moderator will be Father Al from the town of Elizabeth. The debate will be posted on the fourm tomorrow night at 8pm EST. This debate will be for the undecided votes which accounts for more than 20% of the population. Both canditates are hopeful that these debates will go in their favor. So tune in tomorrow night at 8pm for the debate between Bishop Jones and Sean Zummer.
